GRADE SCHOOLS IN QC

Hi sis. My son is incoming grade 2 at Lourdes QC. He started there since Kinder. Am happy naman with the school and my son really enjoys it there. Yun nga lang malake class size nila since traditional school ang LSQC. Nung grade 1 40 sila in his class. TF is 55k + 4k books.

I know how you feel sis. My son is in 4th grade in Claret. We talk to him at home we tell him its not good. Follow up mo lang dahil pagnasama talaga sila sasabog sa ingay at kulit. But their curriculum is good. Same as Ateneo. These are comments coming from parents & bosses with kids both in Claret & Ateneo.

sis bump, my son is also in Claret - incoming grade2.  napapansin ko rin yan - na kapag nagsama-sama sila ng classmates niya, super kulit talaga. though hindi naman sila yung magulong nakakasakit ng ibang bata, pero more of magulong maingay at makwento lang. academically, i am ok with Claret's curriculum. i have cousins who are products of Claret, and they faired well naman when they went to college (they went to reputable universities). last enrollment, i talked to one of the moms who had sons in both Ateneo and Claret. sabi nga nya, same lang daw ang curriculum ng Claret and Ateneo - mas pressured nga lang daw ang bata sa Ateneo. she is planning to move the kid in Ateneo to Claret, kasi aside from having the same curriculum naman, mas reasonable ang tuition fee ng Claret - to think na they both have the same curriculum.

My son made it to Claret and Lourdes. The final choice is Claret for grade school and Lourdes for high school    Finally, after 5 gruelling months of scouting for schools, I can now sit back and relax. Hayahay muna kasi sa pasukan sa June pulos stress na naman. Lol

Hands down talaga ko sa Claret. My brothers studied there and proud ako, plus lahat ng kilala ko sa work, in college, na galing sa Claret, magagaling talaga. Yung nephew ko okay din sya now dun and my friends' sons also study there and magagling talaga. Do they still excel sa football? Worry lang talaga yung all boys effect, mejo rough and nagiging mapang asar, I kind of noticed that, too, sa nephew ko compared nung nasa coed pa sya, but that's just probably him growing up.

Anyway, I have nieces na magagaling sa volleyball. We're considering FEU Diliman for them. Any feedback? Tuition, standards. Prefer ko sana din active sa sports. Thanks!

Because Lourdes is co-ed  it is closer to our house in manila and hubby's work. Magaling din na school, level 3 paascu accredited hs nila and i saw the hs bldg dami naka post na awards sa mga contests. Very competitive sila academically. There goes!

Ako naman am planning to transfer my son to Claret in highschool. Actually I wanted to transfer him this school year kaso ayaw niya so I didn't want to force him but he agreed na Grade 4 or if ever highschool.

We'll move to Pasig soon and ang hirap maghanap ng good school. By Grade 7, lilipat un anak ko. Cross out ang Lourdes Manda & LSGH. Malayo saka hindi rave ang reviews ng parents na natanong ko. Sigh

^ so true sis. magulo at makulit but when you see them happy, maiisip mo rin na their pagiging magulo and makulit is part of growing up. on your son, di ba may don bosco manda? i've had classmates in college na galing don bosco, and they're ok - technically magagaling (may technical electives sila sa high school like computer programming, basic drafting, and even carpentry ata), and socially, maayos sila makisama  - hindi rowdy and hindi mayabang. kung hindi nga lang malayo na ang manda, don bosco would have been one of my options for my son.

Good Morning mga sis!

Pasali naman sa thread na to. Share ko narin yung daughter ko. Currently, she's studying in a school owned by her lolo. This first quarter kase, she's included sana sa top 5 kaso to avoid issues, tinanggal siya sa top. Planning to change school when she reaches Grade 1 or Prep.

  My niece goes to STC, bakit parang public na ang population ng stc ngayon, 10sections with 40 to 45 students per grade level. Kaya halos di na makilala ng teacher ang mga student nya. One time kasi may nakitang test paper yung kapatid ko sa bag ng pamangkin ko, she's in Grade 1, ibig sabihin hindi nya pinasa ang ang answer sheet nya eh unit test pa naman nila yun, the next day nag punta sister ko to talk to the teacher and para pass na rin yung answer sheet, since wala naman questionaire so ok lang siguro na ipasa nya kahit naiuwi na sa bahay. Then ang reaction daw ni teacher is parang nahihiya sya kasi hindi nya alam na hindi nag pasa ng answer sheet yung pamangkin ko, and hindi pa rin nya masyadong kilala yung bata.

  And yung notebook hindi man lang chinecheck ng teacher kung nakopya ng maayos yung assignment kasi kung saan saan lang daw nakasulat, hindi man lang icheck bago pauwiin.  Na icocompare kasi namin sa lourdes where my son goes naman, kasi sa notebook ng anak ko maayos, di sila pinapauwi unless complete ang pagkopya nila kaya alam mong tsinecheck.

hi sis. if i may just comment, in fairness to STC, even during my time (back in the 90's..  ), we already had 6 or 7 sections in elementary and high school, with around 40-45 students in a class. yung pag-check ng notebook, even during my time, our teachers would usually collect the notebooks once or twice a week (around 2x or 3x during the lower grade levels). it is not collected on daily basis because the students are trained to be responsible and disciplined. and it is done as early as grade1. we are even trained to copy our notes as early as grade 1. part of STC training. hindi kasi "spoonfeeding" type of school ang STC.

with regards to the test paper, i think it is the teacher's fault. kahit naman kasi madami syang students, she should've noticed that one student was not able to take the test, and she could check if the student was present via  the class attendance sheet. have you or your sister/brother talked to the homeroom teacher (class adviser) about this? para lang she's aware of what happened to your niece's test paper. para ma-prevent na rin in the future. just my two cents worth. hope it helps.

  ^hi sis, yes yung sister ko ang nag pass the next day at ang sabi daw ni teacher hindi nya daw napansin na hindi nag pass ng test paper si neice.

   And yung notebook naman, sana kahit bago mag pack ng things check muna kung nakopya ng maayos yung notes, ganon kasi sa lourdes may check mark talaga si teacher at may mga correction din if ever mali si student ng kopya halimbawa ng page number. Ang iniisip na lang ng sister ko, na masyado pang bata ang 6yrs old para sa grade 1 na suppose to be prep pa lang.
