CoolChick: you're back!!! honga super tagal na since I first said I wanna visit. Naalala ko pa na binalak ko mag-move to chicago. Musta diyan ngayon? Minsan naiisip ko pa rin lumipat eh hehe. Kaya ko na ang winter! Hinahanap na ng katawan ko ang lamig lol

^^ Gnela_21, napaisip ako sa username na yan ah, ibang forum! Lol! Oo nga, kapag naiisip ko yung scene sa Up In The Air, naiisip ko yung pagbrush na naman ng snow sa windshield ng kotse. Hahaha! Naku, we have to get together bago lumamig na talaga! And yeah, pansin ko nga rin mga 7pm dumidilim na. Nagulat nga ako paglabas ko ng gym kahapon (in fairness 8pm na nun) ang dilim na naman. Kailangan isip tayo ng isa pang outdoor activity to enjoy the warmer weather.

Ok naman here in Chicago. Iinit, lalamig. Dapat makavisit ka sa Chicago sana next summer! Kaming bahala sa iyo ni Gnela_21! I actually met up with another GTer mga 2 years ago dito sa Chicago. Kapag summer naman dito I would say it is "comfortably warm". And sabi nila sa Chicago, "If you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes." Hahaha. Ako naman, medyo katawan ko nagbebeg na wag muna lumamig.

^ OMG yes! it's been that long na nga. multiply days pa nun! ahahaha. shucks, sobrang kelangan nang makapag-chicago. sige mag-aabang akong murang airfare. kahit long weekend. wala na ako bakasyon this year so baka next year, either spring or fall. preferably fall. yay! sige EB tayo!

Sis gnela_21! Haha, taga Chicago ka din pala. Yan ang destination ko. Although, sa Gurnee ako, northern part, mga 2 minutes away from Six Flags.

^ his sis somethingreal! sa Gurnee ka pala magstay, do you have relatives there? Medyo malayo ang drive mo sis if ever magddrive ka pa-downtown at laging traffic sa I-90/94. As in everyday traffic, kamusta naman sa daan na yun. I think may Metra station sa Gurnee. Check mo din yun.

Let me know if andito ka na, hopefully we can meet-up.

Thanks sis!! Naku oo nga eh, I am kinda dreading nga yung winter! Kaloka. My sister lives in Gurnee, sakanya muna ako mag-stay until I settle down na. Metra muna i-ttake ko going downtown, sa may Libertyville may metra station dun, yun na yung nearest. I've been to Chicago na last year, pero as a tourist. I so love the city! Kaso ito nga first time ko mag-sspend ng winter kasi summer ako nagpunta nun so good luck! Haha! Sige will let you know pag nandiyan na ako so we can meet up. Na-ffeel ko na din na ma-hohome sick ako sa pasko and new year. Pero siguro sanayan lang din.

Yesterday sa interview, may nakasabay din ako na H1B applicant na PT, kaso kasi nung interview time na, after that di ko na siya nakita, baka nauna matapos saken, kasi magkasunod lang number namen.

Hahaha, oo nga, dito na lang. It's good though that you have family near, thats always a good thing. Lalo na at malapit na ang holidays. Malungkot kasi talaga. Chicago is really beautiful in the summer time, most don't want to go anywhere else kapag summer time. Soak up the summer sun ika nga.

^ Mooncake and Leaves, sige do let us know kapag makakuha ka ng murang airfare! I think Fall like late September and early October will be better than Spring unless early June. Kasi naman ang spring dito ulan ng ulan ng ulan and it's still cold. I still don't know why they advertise those spring outfits when it's actually too cold to wear them in Spring here! Lol.

^ Somethingreal, you're lucky you will be in Gurnee dahil ang lapit mo sa mga outlet malls! Nga pala I read your posts sa other thread and you mentioned sa law firm ka downtown, does it happen to be Madrid-Crost Offices?

On topic: Somethingreal, If the Madrid-Crost office is still in the same location, they are just a few blocks from the Metra Train station so easy access if you take the train. I would take the Metra  before when I needed to go there when I was still living in the Suburbs. I'll PM you about them.

Hi Chicagoans! I heard that the weather lately has been pretty warm for this time of the year! I'm in Manila right now kaya puro balita na lang ako about the weather there.

Somethingreal, you're lucky sis that your first winter is one of the warmest in Chicago's history! I actually might be a few of those people who doesn't like spring. At least the first 3/4's of it kasi it's still cold and rainy. I kinda think those spring dresses they display in stores doesn't really apply for Chicago, dahil usually it's still too cold to wear them not until early June. Lol! Hopefully this spring will be warm as well.
