What do you mean CSA? May I know the exact name of the school?

^^

A friend of mine studied baking at ISCHAM, short-course for 3 months. My sister studied Fundamentals Culinary Skills at the same school.   It's on Katipunan.  ISCHAM owns Aubergine Resto.

Yung friend ko now participates in Mercato; he sells bagels.  Sa ISCHAM nya natutunan yun. :) My sister has been a good cook naman ever since, but syempre mas naging wide yung knowledge nya about cooking.

I'm not sure how much is cheap for you, but the tuition is 29K for 3 months.  I suggest na instead of diploma, kuha ka na lang ng short course kasi more o less pareho lang naman ng ituturo.  Kapag kasi diploma may class pa whereas pag short-course hands-on na kaagad.

Got this from MIHCA (Magsaysay - Makati Branch),

PROFESSIONAL CULINARY ARTS  STUDIES (Mon-Fri; 6hrs/ session; tuition fee includes 1-set  of uniform, training materials, knife kit, ingredients)
Php180,000.00 -  payable in four (4) installments and seven (7)
-The program allows the individual to acquire and  develop skills and attitudes towards becoming a formidable international  culinary expert. The program ignites a passion for the art and provides a solid  foundatioon in culinary techniques, methods, and cuisines. This is a 7-month  program that consists of 4 months daily hands-on training in the MIHCA  Facilities and 3 months restaurant operations plus (200 hours) externship program.

PROFESSIONAL BAKING AND PASTRY  STUDIES (Mon-Fri; 6hrs/ session; tuitionfee includes 1-set  of uniform, training materials, knife kit, ingredients)
-Php 180,000.00 payable in four (4) installments and seven (7)
-The program trains baking and pastry  enthusiasts. The foundation program develops strong essential skills on bread  making, pastry, cake, and dessert production. This is a  7-month program that consists of 4 months daily hands-on training in the MIHCA  Facilities and 3 months (500 hours) externship program.

sulit kaya ang Php180,000 dito? Sep. 26 start ng culinary class nila. Mas mura kasi siya compared to other culinary schools.

MIHCA stands for Magsaysay Institute of Hospitality and Culinary Arts. I worked at Magsaysay pero ibang business unit ang MIHCA, its not that I am promoting it pero I could say na maganda talaga ang facilities nila. The main training school is at Times Plaza Building corner ng U.N & Taft Avenue. Palagi pinag mamalaki ni Doris Magsaysay-Ho (owner) ang MIHCA. Usually kapag may visitor (which is palagi) siya doon niya dinadala para mag tour. Karamihan ng mga nakita ko na dinala niya doon mga ambassador.

Anyhow, I think MIHCA is a great school. Andami palagi students doon, as in nag kalat kasi they have a training school din. Usually ang mga students doon yung mga sumasakay, pasakay at gustong sumakay ng mga international cuise. Partner yata nila ang AIDA ang Princess group.

if pastries and baking, heny sison has a culinary school located in crame, qc. not sure of the price though. 22-day course lang, and it's TESDA accredited (so aside from the school certificate when you finish the course, parang you also get something from TESDA - in case you want to go abroad, you can use the TESDA certification.) check out this site, might help:

matagal ko na pangarap ito, di lang matuloy-tuloy, kids and all. sila muna, saka na ako. :))

nice to find this thread. matagal ko na gusto matuto magluto. i'm a total alien when it comes to cooking - got burned from a stove before kaya nagka-trauma na at natakot nang matuto pang magluto. but now (after 15+ years) i finally want to learn to cook. thing is, i have my usual 9 to 6 job, kaya weekends lang ako available. may alam ba kayo sis na parang crash course on (very) basic cooking - or yung mga tipong weekends ang classes? thanks in advance!
