life fitness has payment plans you might want to check the stores and alam ko may mga naka sale silang treadmill and other exercise machines now.

usually ang problem sa treadmill pag hindi maganda na aaffect yung joints mo kasi parang natatagtag yan with the expensive ones you'll notice a big difference, like yung smoothness ng takbo, yung material na gamit, sturdiness. ..etc etc.

if you want low impact na effective try getting an elliptical machine/ cross trainer, yun, whole body mo gumagana but that's just my two cents :)

buying equipment for home use entails discipline.

for most people, sa una lang yan. then pag tinamad na ayun. tambak na lang. BUT there are dedicated and well disciplined people who are able to maximize their home qym/ fitness equipment.

Problema din kasi minsan sa bahay, porket nasa bahay ka, guguluhin ka na ng mga tao (asawa/magulang/anak)

there are different levels of treadmills. but basically motorized and non motorized sila.

the most basic is the "hamster" treadmill. you basically run on your own effort as you stand on the tread which runs over a bunch of rollers

motorized treadmills are divided into different categories. but to my eyes there are only two kinds: intermediate and high end.

intermediate ones run simply on a plywood board. the board has a maximum weight limit. say 200 or 250 lbs. intermediate TMs on the lower end are small and not spacious. generally sa features na nagkakatalo. but the bigger the treadmill, the higher the price. bigger also comes with more features kasi.  be prepared to spend about 30-100k. mga 150k-350, medyo base model to intermediate na yun ng High End.

now buying a high end treadmill is like buying a brand new japanese car. some models can break 7 digits siguro by now. last time i inquired for one in phils (2004) it was close to 800k. high end treadmills are made to withstand punishment. the boards are made of very good material, even the tread is very durable. they have high quality shock absorbers too to protect your knees.

some marathon runners use these high end TMs to supplement their training. so just imagine the durability needed to sustain such training year in and year out.

****

you should also inquire about after sales service.

example, if they sell the right silicone oil to their customers. nung bumili ako ng treadmill noon eh, ang sabi ba naman sa akin, "sir we can only sell you one bottle as an after sales service. " more or less nokia 8210 ang size. pero binili ko na lang kasi i can always have someone from the US to send me one.

isa pa, who will do the motor service? sino mag aayos ng motor?san nakakabili ng tread pag na pudpod na or naputol? sino mag iinstall?

*****

now kailangan ng treadmill ng voltage regulator. so take it into account.

and imho, kung merong uninterrupted power supply gadget na pwede sa treadmill, get one, mahirap na yung tumatakbo ka tapos, bigla na lang mamamatay. this happened to me in a gym in vancouver. what happened to me? well----just like what you see in the movies.

so ayun. eto lang naiisip ko as of typing this.

may kanya kanyang needs kasi ang tao sis and iba't ibang levels of responsibility. (an extremely busy professional will be happy to run for 20 minutes on a treadmill.) but even professional marathon runners sometimes use treadmills. there's also the issue of safety. also the issue of pollution. some areas of Manila talaga e sobrang dirty na ng hangin. yung ibang tao aware diyan. ibang tao hindi. its like seeing kids taking a bath or a swim in pasig river. hindi nila alam gaano kadumi yung tubig.

hindi naman sila gagawa ng treadmill kung wala namang demand di ba?

may kanya kanyang reasons ang bawat tao, irespect na lang natin.

if kaya naman mag jogging nalang outdoors, better do it than buy a treadmill. I have one at home, yung motorized , anniversary gift saken hubby ko. we bought it sa UAE for 18k siguro sa pesos (it was on sale) , [textspeak!] mga tipong tig 30-40k dito... yun nga lang when I shipped it home here, napagastos ako ng 18k din in pesos hahaha. I dont use it, nahihilo ako, di ko ma explain, yun bang in motion katawan mo, tumatakbo pero nasa isang lugar ka lang, everytime I step down, ayun hindi ako makalakad ng matuwid.

mas enjoy pa mag jogging! at mag biking! pero if its for weight loss , hindi yata siya ganun ka effective ? tama ba? pang cardio lang talaga siya. sabi kasi ng isang fitness instructor saken if i wanted to lose weight +cardio sana binili ko yung elliptical bike nalang mas mura pa, meron available dito below 10k pwede na.

^Yeah, I'd go for bikes. Pwede ka kasi magbike naka-upo or higher intensity dapat nakatayo.

We used to have both the bike and treadmill sa bahay. I use them habang nanunuod ng tv, kaso kapag nag-re-arrange ako ng furniture, tinatabi ko sila tapos nakakalimutan ko so binenta na rin lang eventually. So there, minsan kasi aside from discipline, yung location ng treadmill is important.

Aside from treadmill meron din kami yung bike. Matibay naman siya.. 4 years na kasi sa amin and wala pa naging problema.

Is there a big difference between motorized and magnetic treadmills?

May magnetic treadmill ako dati kaso masakit sa binti unlike those I used in gyms. Not sure if ganun lahat ng magnetic, or yung saken lang kase 2nd hand? :-\

Any recommendations?

How about yung motorized treadmill na tig-11k lang sa home tv shopping? Is it any good? Eto yung may pink atsaka orange na colors.
