was wondering how your interview went. im planning to take the NPTE this Dec 5.

hi sis! sad to say, i got denied. nagramble kasi ako nung tinanong ako nung black consul na "why are you applying just now?"  mali sagot ko e. tsk, tsk. but i am a quitter no more, so magaapply uli ako.

Hello mga sis, please help me out naman and see if my current status will be approved:

- 31 y.o. Single, never married, no kid
- Was employed in the call center industry from 2002-2010
- Feb. 2010 left call center industry, went full time in online selling
- April 2010 - had the chance to travel for the 1st time out of the country to Rome, Italy (my Schengen Visa was valid for 1 month multiple entry w/ max 10 day stay at a time)
- Put up registered trading corporation in Sept. 2010 (me as President)
- Oct. 2010 travelled to Singapore, leisure + business, stayed 4 days
- Dec. 2010  travelled to Macau-HK, 4 days, leisure
- January 2011 travelled to Malaysia & Singapore, 4 days leisure
- money in bank about 1.2M (not all mine, some are the corporations money, sana akin nalang lahat. LOL)
- my purpose of applying for US tourist Visa = simply to travel and see the U.S. of A.

So what do you think? Ma aprrove kaya ako? Ang prob ko kase is baka ma tag ako as "not enough family ties" in the philippines kase nga anong petsa na, single pa ako.

Some said ang sabihin kodaw sa consul eh my BF and I plan to get married this year and I just want to be able to travel and go to US before I get married or pang honeymonn namen. In all honesty, no plans talaga to get married yet this year. What do you girls think? Would appreciate response and feedback. thanks a lot!

^i think you have a big chance of obtaining a tourist visa kasi may business ka naman dito at ikaw pa ang president. enough na siguro yun para balikan mo.

based on my experience, yeah tinatanong nga nila if you're married or have kids. we're actually of the same age at anong petsa na rin e single pa rin ako just like you. magandang alibi yang sinabi mo ah. you know, the getting-married-with-the-boyfriend soon.

if i were you, go ahead and try to apply for a visa. wala naman mawawala eh. and tip, WAG NA WAG KANG KAKABAHAN. alright?

so_bootylicious: I have about the same profile as childstar, but the only difference is I DO have a boyfriend and we ARE getting married (but not before I plan to go to the US to visit family and friends).

Do I have to reveal this information in my interview? If yes, what do you think will they accept as proof that I am to be married aside from my engagement ring?

Sis Ikaela and Sis Childstar - i suggest do not reveal the boyfriend thing kasi made-deny kayo agad.  just say travel and tour.  if you mention na you have a boyfriend baka the consul might thing you plan to marry and not come back.  i read in another forum, ang sabi ng consul sa isang applicant, get married first here and ask your husband to file a fiancee visa for you or something like that. 

sis bootylicious - share mo din yun script ng interview mo para others can learn from it and maybe we can see where weak yun profile mo.

if may proof ka na you're getting married here, like church reservation documents, caterer, the venue reservation receipts, invitation and the like, i guess pwde mo sabihin. that, i think, would show that you will definitely come back.

okay here's the transcript of what has transpired during my interview. this is as far as i can remember.

me:  hi! good morning mam.
consul: hello good morning. passport and letter please.
m: (me handing over the passport dun sa parang tray sa baba ng window nya)
c: purpose of travel?
m: i'm going to take the NPTE.
c: what do you do now?
m: i'm a (**stating what's my work).
c: what exactly does a ** do?
m: (explaining to her the nature of my current work, not PT related)
c: have you practiced your profession as physical therapist?
m: yes mam. between 2004 and 2008.
c: are you married or do you have kids?
m: no mam, i'm still single.
c: have you been out of the country?
m: no mam.

(the following is the fun part of my interview)

c: which is the larger tibia? (ano daw? mali tanong nya tama sagot ko)
m: medial. (from what i understand she's trying to ask which has the larger side of the leg bone, so that would be the tibia and fibula. tibia being on the medial side)
c: what is bursitis? (she pronounced the last word as boor-seeh-tees)
m: you mean bursitis (bər-sī'tĭs)?
c: yes bursitis. so what is it?
m: it's the inflammation of the bursa.
c: and it commonly affects what?
m: the elbow and the shoulder.  (actually madami siya)
c: so how come you're applying just now?
m:  (me stuttering because i didn't see this question coming) i didn't have any money before and i have an employer who's gonna sponsor me to take the exam.

ayun na! mali yung huling ginawa ko. kaya ako nadeny kasi kinakitaan niya ako ng kaba. she asked for the letter given to me by my employer. di talaga siya na-satisfy dun sa sagot ko. and the fact na single ako and had never been out of the country, naging factor din siguro tong status kong to. damn!

kinausap kasi ako nung katabi kong matanda minutes before my turn. kalmado na ako e. hehe. di naman ako nadepress, natanggap ko pa nga sya agad. yung ibang nadeny dun mega krayola pa. magaapply na lang uli ako kasi i'm a quitter no more! try lang ng try.

sis ikaela, kung di naman tatanungin sayo re your civil status, wag mo na lang ireveal about the boyfriend. US citizen ba sya? and remember, WAG KA TALAGANG KAKABAHAN or wag mo ipakita sa kanila na kabado ka!

by the way, black American woman yung naginterview sakin. kung naging lalaki lang yun at Caucasian baka nalusutan ko pa. hehe. sa tingin ko lang naman. intimidating kasi itsura ni ate e.

Grabe sis booty-licious ang questioning ng consul.  duda pa siya na PT ka with all these questioning.  buti na lang di ako natapat sa kanya when i was there.  but tama ka, mukhang the fact na single ka, and never been out of the Phil became a factor.   Suggest next time pag-isipan mo yun sagot kung why you're company (Is it in the PT or medical profession) is sending you to the US (to take the exam), when pwede naman kumuha dun sa dami ng mga PT na baka umemployed pa.  And why would they send someone who is not practicing being a PT to take the exam.  Is it because you have special skills na wala sila dun.   next question niya is what happens next after you passed the exam.     Think hard sis para di sayang naman yun USD140 mo.

^I'm currently not practicing my profession which is as physical therapist. I'm in a different field right now pero medically related pa rin. the employer i'm talking about is the one in the states who is gonna hire me when i get there. they have this program in which they're gonna fly candidates like me to the US to take the exam. if all went smoothly, magreresign ako sa current work ko then migrate na ko sa US. the exam i'm going to take is for licensure as PT.

next time alam ko na isasagot ko. i didn't really see that 1 coming. hehe.

been thinking of applying for a visa tourist purpose. i just realized that DFA did not return my old passport eh andun [textspeak!] US travels ko when i was younger.
pano yun? diba kailangan pakita yung old passport?

ive read the transcript of your interview sis. will include you in my prayers kasi i know how difficult it is to get all the necessary paperwork (fccpt,visa screen, toefl, jurisprudence exam, etc) and permits (state approval, ATT) completed. wala pa dun yung pagod sa review. homaygulay.

you are taking the may 25th test, right? go, go go. we will NOT take 'no' for an answer.

US Embassy website says that you have to bring all your old passports siguro to validate your dates of travel in the US.    if you can accurately remember the dates of your US travel and the number of days you stayed there baka pwede na.  kasi ako, they just asked me about my trips to the US which i declared in the DS160.  di naman hiningi yun old passport ko to double check whether accurate yun mga dates ko.

dfa should give you your old passport!

my daughter and i will be renewing this march 1 and our old passport has our US Visa -- so dapat ibalik nila yun! I don't even want to leave my old passport with them

ok lang naman even if you don't show your old passport with previous US travels. the US embassy has a database that keeps these info. no need to tell them you already travelled to the US before coz they know =)

homaygulay talaga! yes, will take pa rin the exam on may 25th. itong visa na lang talaga kelangan ko to get there. kung available lang dito ang exam, i wouldn't bother going there. ang gastos kaya, as in.

i bet PT ka rin sis. okay ka na sa lahat? US visa and all? will also include in my prayers and in my novena.

naku sis iba na ngayon yun ds160 application form nila.  you are required to list down all your US travels and what the embassy does is they match it with their records.  kaya if you misdelcared they will know.
