^My brother in law (bro of my hubby)  has a pending petition, both my in laws (mother and father) are us citizens  but he got a us visa for 10 years. My hubby who also has  a petition before is also a us visa holder (10 years) including our small kiddies.
So i think sis,there's hope and good chances for you, : )!
All the sisters and brothers of my mom in law are us citizens already (i think they are 6 or 7 siblings in all).

sis slayer - pray hard.  there is still a slim chance that you can the visa maski may pending petition ka.  but you really need to prove na babalik ka despite the petition.  good luck

got our visas already just this noon. Ang bilis lang pala, it took us 3 days only.

i tried the link, but it only gave a message that said we are scheduled for jan. 28, eh tapos na yun. an alternative is to call 2Go directly. i called up 2Go the other day and they told me to just wait for their text message re: delivery.

sis icecandy - curious lang, when you entered the pavilion, di ba pinasulat yun name mo and name ng parents mo sa paper.  tapos what's next?  did they verify the info you wrote on the paper versus your ds160 application mo?  did you notice kung anong ginawa if in case may mali yun nilagay ng applicant sa ds160? pinauwi ba o pinaulit yun application.

yep, per applicant, you'll be given a pink 1/4 short bond paper, sulat details like name, spouse, father and mother. tapos, i-escort ka ng guard inside na to get a number. 1st pila yung sa number.

before you get a number, you'll be asked for your name, father's and mother's (paulit-ulit nga eh). pati birthday. if you have kids, ikaw na rin tatanungin nila hindi sasagot yung bagets.

when you get your number, pa-finger printing (name at bday ulit yun) then pila ulit for the interview itself.

pansin ko, sa pagkuha pa lang ng number, tingin na ng tingin sa computer. baka bnabasa na rin yung nilagay mo sa online application.

during the interview itself, ganun din. kasi kami, yung husband ko lang ang may US visa that time, pero sumama siya sa amin bec of the kids. vinerify sa kanya bigla kung IT ang work niya, eh hindi ko naman sinulat sa DS160 ko yun. so, nagbabasa sila talaga ng DS160 during the interview. inaccess siguro nila yung lumang file ng husband ko.

pag may mali, i dont know kung ano papagawa nila. wala naman akong napansin ganun last friday.

sis icecandy - what happens after approved ka na?  alam ko you don't pay additional for the courier kasi kasama na yun sa USD140.00.  Paano mo nakuha yun tracking number para ma-trace kay 2Go?

after ng interview, pwede na agad umalis. yep yep, no need to pay for anything. you're right, courier fee is included already in the visa fee.

there's no tracking number. pag tumawag ka sa 2GO, tatanungin lang sayo name/s. if ever, be ready na rin with your passport number.

oh yes! i know that already. natagalan nga ako e tapos nagkaproblema pa last year sa profession namin. mahigpit daw ngayon yung mga consul. not to all ha. sa case lang namin na magte-take ng exam so don't get discouraged girls.

I've been lurking in this thread and trying to gain strength..  Hehe.

Pa-assess naman. I know very low chances if may pending petition but I still want to try. 

Here are my details:

1. Female, 28 years old working as manager sa bank.
2. Earning more than 50K a month.
3. Has XXX,XXX savings. Owns a car under my name.
4. Pending petition but I think I'm overaged na for this so I'm not really priority.
5. Dad is LPR, brother is US citizen but mom is here and no plans to go there.
6. Been to Hongkong and UK.

What do you think are my chances?

slim nga lang ang chance mo sis just like what they say. i have 2 friends whose families are all in the US and tried to apply for tourist visa.

friend #1, naiwan siya dito when her family migrated to the US kasi over age na siya. as what i said, she tried to apply for a tourist visa. to no luck di siya binigyan kasi malaki talaga chances nya na di na bumalik though may work siya dito.

friend #2 is ganun din. napansin ko lang, though both of them are working, wala silang strong ties to prove na babalik sila like properties or business. just my 2 cents.

si friend #1, nakaalis na nung november 2010 through her petition. sa wakas dumating din. we're so happy for her.

I had my interview early this week, together with my husband and kids (minors). I was so worried kasi I made an error in my application form DS160, I was not able to put my mom's maiden name. So on the interview day itself, after filling-up the pink slip, we went to this window where the girl (filipina) was looking at the computer and seems to be comparing what you wrote on the pink slip and what she sees on the screen. True enough, she clarified my mom's maiden name. So I told her the correct one. Then that's it. She did not ask me to do anything else. We proceeded to the fingerprinting then waited for the consul. Thank God na-approve naman kami.

Anyway, while waiting for the consul, we can hear the other applicants during the step 1 screening. Yung iba mukhang may pinapaayos sa application nila kasi sinasabihan sila na they can come back basta before 9am. (early morning sked namin, baka 9 am ang cutoff for our time)

Tapos when we left the embassy, ang daming nag-o-offer ng internet. I guess merong mga applicants na pinapaulit yung application.

By the way, if you had your ds160 filled up by a travel agency, ang daming tanong. This is what I noticed while waiting.

yun na, approved na. kinancel na niya yun visa namin na actually di pa expired

Tips i learned -
- Take the first appointment available.  akala ko 6:45 yun earliest, meron palang 6:15, since delayed yun 6:15, pati kami nadamay. halaos 7:30 kami nakapasok though we were there since 5:15, and we ended mga alsmost 10 na. so 4 hours kami inaabot sa embassy

- Memorise to death yun DS160 ninyo.  tama si sis chubbsky, marami pinapauwi sa pre-screening lang.  kapag di consistent ang sagot mo sa sinulat mo, o you declared na ikaw ang gumawa and they find out it's somebody else. sorry ka na.  and all the questions the consul asked me were actually already written in the DS160.  Wala naman pina elaborate sa akin.  buti na lang pati si anak, nag practice kami

- Memorise the names and birthdate ng parents, including mother's maiden name.  may pinauwi kasi di daw niya alam ata yun details kc patay na daw parents niya

- Dress well.  i was dressed as if papasok ako sa office.  don't wear high heels kasi sasakit ang paa ninyo sa kakahintay sa pila

-  be honest and confident when answering. binabasa rin nila how you answer the question

- isang tanong, isang sagot. don't elaborate unless necessary

- bring supporting docs.  though dala ko yun buong bahay ko, wala naman hiningi. pero sa iba meron hinihingi. dun lang sa ds160 pre-screening may hinihingi na yun mga embassy staff. sabi ko nga parang ito na yun interview ha. strict naman nila

- bring black ballpen.  kasi the vendors will keep on selling you black ballpen. so bring ka na lang para di ka na nila gulohin.  but honestly wala naman nakalagay na black ballpen dapat sa pag fill up ng pink slip.  i remember it said print your name, name of parents including maiden name of mother, spouse.  dami ko ngang bura bura buti di nagalit yun nag screen sa ds160.

- don't bring cologne, perfume, USB or electronics. pati hand sanitizer ko di ko na dinala para sigurado

^so, sis pwede pala may kasama na mag-alalay sa loob like what your hubby did with you and your son. Did you ask permission prior to your interview or nung nasa pila na kayo? My hubby will be accompanying my mom-in-law kasi on her visa renewal interview. Hirap tumawag sa hotline nila kasi.

Yes sis meron ako nakita girl na inaalalayan niya yun mama niya.  though i'm not sure if may US Visa siya o wala.

si hubby naka pasok kasi minor yun anak ko pero di naman tinanong kung may US visa siya.  so i guess maski walang US visa yun husband mo, should be OK.  makikita naman nila na hirap lumakad yun matanda

^^I read somewhere sa embassy page na if minor, pwede sumama at least one parent...although when I got visas for my kids and MIL, my husband already had his na din. No prior paalam needed sa embassy. I brought a stroller pa nga before kasi 6months old pa lang yung baby ko, too much of a hassle...I guess easier now..that was a long time ago na eh...no questions asked much din...just, where are you going? n to my MIL na first time applicant, who's paying for your trip...that's it.

^Thanks  flygirl! No worries sa renewal ni Mom-in-law. This is her nth renewal naman. She's been in and out of the US ever since my hubby was a kid. Bitbit kasi sya palagi ni father-in-law every time he had a US flight.  She just needs an alalay this time to guide her kasi nga may katandaan na rin.

Sis portugalbear, glad to know you were also approved. Just got the passports of my family (yung sa akin wala pa) and they were given 10 years multiple entry. Nabitin nga ako kasi di pa nasabay ng 2Go yung sa akin although we applied as a family. Oh well, siguro naman pareho din ang ibibigay sa akin na validity ng embassy.

Our appointment was 615am and we were done by 740am. Another tip pala was to remove the cover (if any) of your passport. May plastic case kasi yung sa amin, ang hirap tanggalin. We had to tear the plastic just to remove it. Medyo nakakataranta lang kasi may pila sa likod namin at nagmamadali rin yung nag-che-check ng passport sa entrance.

A very important tip would be to dress up like you are going to a job interview. Dress to impress. Ang dami kong nakita na naka-maong, parang pupunta lang sa mall. Kahit paano may impact din yung appearance mo sa consul so please make yourselves look presentable and even businesslike.
