question mga sis sobrang lito kasi ako dyan s tourist visa na yan ..im planning to go sa us next year 3rd quarter at purely tourist lang. first time ko kung sakaling ma approved ako ..so ano yun b1/b2 or b2 [textspeak!]? plan ko 3 - 4 wks lang kasi may work ako need ko bumalik din agad hirap na baka mawalan ako ng work pag nagtagal pa ako.

^^Yep, you apply for a b1/b2...ang embassy naman, upon issuance nagpapalit ng visa type, maybe if they see the need..when I renewed mine tapos new applic mga kids ko...ako inissue b1/b2 but my MIL n 2 kids mga b2 lang....sila first-timers nun...anyway that was some yrs ago...not so sure if they still do it now kasi my parents renewed a couple of weeks ago...b1/b2 10yrs ea..although freq travellers naman sila, like me. Not so sure if that's the reason...Anyway...

Sis, B1 is "Visitor for Business" while B2 is "Visitor for Pleasure". Usually pinagsasama nila talaga yan.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PROCEDURES
On December 1, 2010, the U.S. Embassy in Manila will implement new visa application procedures.  With only one payment (the current MRV fee based on the visa classification), the following services will be provided to all applicants:

MRV fee collection, either over the counter or online, at any branch of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), and online payment through Bancnet
Scheduling of visa appointments (through call center number 982-5555 or online appointment website http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph; from mainland U.S. call 214-571-1600)
Providing information on general visa inquiries
Delivery of passports for approved visa applications

sis - iba pa ang questionning sa US port of entry mo.  may chance pa rin na ma deny entry ka sa US, tawag nila diyan na airport to airport ka, if di tama sagot mo sa immigration officer.  back read ka dun sa isang forum dito na Usual Questions at US Port - tourist.  Madami ka matutunan dun on what to say and especially not to say.

^^^That's true. Having a US Visa isn't a guarantee na you can enter the US. Depends talaga sis sa interview mo sa Port of Entry. Pag LAX, maluwag sila. Detroit is the worst daw according to some of our sisters. Even my mom, yan ang POE niya, ang dami-dami daw talagang questions.

mga sis pa sagot po.  im planning to attend a convention in the US next year and its a company sponsored trip.   this will be my first time to apply for a US visa.  do i need to reveal that it will be a company sponsored trip? mas maaprove ba since its the ticket, accomodation, and tour will be paid for by a large company? or mas okay kung ill just write there na ill be paying for the trip?

For me, sis mas maganda you tell the truth na.  since it's company sponsored, di ka hihingin ng bank statement mo etc.  but be ready to show company documents like invitation to join the seminar etc and know the  company well kasi i'm sure they will ask you what your company does and what your work is and how long you've been with this company etc.  For me, mas malaking chance mo to get the visa with the company backing you up. hope this helps

Share ko lang experience ko sisses. dito ako ngayon sa Sydney on a student visa which is expiring on Jun 22, 2011.

I got my flight ticket na to LA roundtrip SYD for the Xmas holidays.

Scary sobra yung risksmadeny! because of the ff factors

~I have a multiple entry 10-yr visa which expired last may but I NEVER used it

~my aus student visa will expire soon and it increases my chances na baka magTNT

~no permanent ties to show because all my docus are in the Philippines and from my parents, time wasnt enough to get them to send me their business papers.

Today yung interview ko...ang malas pa because kahapon I was about to pay the application fee but my debitcard wouldn't work because my bank showed zero balance.  Apparently nanews dito na nagtotopak yung bank namin and about 5% of the clients' accounts showed zero balance!!!


So I appeared empty handed kaninang umaga with no paid application form with an 8am appointment.  I couldn't the fee anymore even with cash that I got from my sister kasi 9am pa bukas yung bayaran na offices.

They sent me away and said I could cut in line daw after ko magbayad. They can't process my visa w/o my initial payment.

so ok na, I waited till it opened and paid..


pagdating sa interview, after a long long long wait (ANG DAMI PALANG PILANG DADAANAN?!)

my interviewer was a black serious man...less than 2 minutes lang, approved na! Di man lang tinignan yung documents na hinanda ko!!! Apparently I realized why...


after he said approved, he said "please pay the issuance fee at the next window"

Sabi ko wala namang nakalagay na issuance fee para sa visa type ko sabi sa site. :|

tas napatingin sya sa papers ko

sabi nya "oops I made a mistake, philippine passport, haha yes no issuance fee haha" tas tawang tawa sya sa sarili nya.

haha it seemed like he didn't really look at the papers and thought I was a local or something, and for locals super bilis lang kasi nila magapply. XD

Hi everyone. I'm planning to apply for a tourist visa to US early next year. What are the requirements that I need to prepare? I'm 30 years old, still single and working as an Asst. Manager in a logistics company here in the Philippines. Basically, my purpose is purely tourist for 2-3 weeks only. I have no relatives there and I will be travelling alone. Would there be a chance to get an approved visa even if I don't have any relatives in US? Thanks in advance.

^hi sis prepare all your papers for your assets, properties, bank statements, etc.

 make a drafted IT where you're going what you're going to do...it is good to be specific how many days you're planning to stay, where and what dates

also maybe, IDK, they say be honest as you can, but maybe you can just mention that you have a BF here in the Philippines...just maybe... di masyado ok yung single female accdg to what I've read up before

Thanks sis... As of now, am still gathering information on how to apply for a tourist visa. Anyway, I still have time to prepare for the documents. It's not urgent naman. I hope it gets approved. I've heard it's really difficult to get an approved tourist visa

Hi sis, I applied at the US Consulate here in Australia, Im just on a student visa here, Philippine Passport, Australia student visa expiring in 6months, no properties, 21 single female, and to be honest I had 1.73$ in my bank, lol poor student.   But it was sooo easy to get it, di ko nafeel yung hirap.  I think kasi most interviewers here aren't used to being that suspicious or investigative.
