^sis, tama yung B1/B2 visa is for business and pleasure aka tourist visa. But the L1 visa is a work visa, non-immigrant and is valid for a short amount of time.

ask ko lang sana yung mga available na dates for NOVEMBER (via VISAPOINT kung meron pa) or DECEMBER sana. I heard na limited ang slots for schedules next month si Embassy.

Hello, mga sis! Tanong ko lang po:

Mag a-apply kasi ng tourist visa mom and dad ko this December. Kaya lang passport ng mom ko mag-eexpire sa August 2, 2011. Kung mabibigyan sila ng visa (hopefully) at aalis sila by January or February, okay lang kaya yun? Or kailangan na mag renew ng mom ko ng visa before they apply for a US visa?

Pag nag-apply sila ng visa, separate application forms and requirements? Pero pwede po yung interview sila ng sabay, diba? Just making sure po.

mga sis, can you assess my status kung ano ang possibiliy na ma-approve ako ng US visa.

1. UP faculty for 6 years now- not yet tenured but currently on study leave ( my 1 and 1/2 year study leave will end this may 2011... as per university rule and as stated in my study leave contract, i need to do a return service for 1 and  1/2 years also. so tali pako sa UP til 2nd sem of 2012)

2. with around 150k in the bank

3. with a car (second-hand, fully paid)

4. with travel to singapore on jan 16-19, 2011

5. will purchase a lot worth around 1M thru pag-ibig on Jan/Feb 2011

6. with a letter of invitation addressed to my name from The International Reading Asociation for their upcoming seminar on May 2011 (i'm a reading major by the way)

7. my only sibling is a teacher in the US and is already a citizen

8. my parents were petitioned by my sister and are staying with her at the moment

9. i am single pero may bf malapit na ring ma-engage

10. hindi strong ang personality ko, medyo mahiyain and not confident most of the time

ayoko talaga magstay sa US for long kasi i love my job and my fiance here.hehe!  i'm just thinking na baka with the help of letter of invitation personally addressed to me baka mas madali ako ma-approve. kung hindi man ako umalis next year at least for future use di ba? malay mo multiple entry igrant sakin. ano sa tingin nyo mga sisses?

also, ok lang ba after na ng singapore trip ko ako magpasched if ever? aabot pa ba yun pag may 2011 yung target seminar na aattendan ko kunwari. ty

My mom's passport arrived today..got 10yrs B1/B2 as well...3 in a row na...my hubby, my dad, my mom...with a gap of two weeks in between each delivery...haha...I hope when it's my turn to renew, ganun pa din...

kapag ba magapply for a tourist visa sa US, complete reqt and financial records and travels to other countries, may chance ba ma-aaprove kahit na hubby works abroad? yung reqt na mataas ang chance na bablik kasi may strong ties ka to come back to the phils pa rin..ok lang ba yun? di kaya maquestion because wala dito si hubby.

my passport will expire on Sept. 2011, i want to apply for a US visa sana (first time). should i renew my passport first? or i can just show the visa in my old passport if ever we enter US?

also, we plan to go to guam on april. kaya pa ba if i apply now? how long ini-sked ang interview?

What do I do after I receive an I-797 Notice of Approval? It says that my petition (Unmarried child under 21 of permanent resident) has been approved, and that I will be contacted for the next step. How long does it usually take before they contact me?

Mrs Sweet and Lei Glee - if i recall dapat your passport should not expire earlier than 6 months ata.  sa experience ko if your passport is about to expire, renew it first before getting the US visa. para when you travel, you bring only 1 passport with you which has the US Visa sticker.   Otherwise, whenever you travel to the US you have to show 2 passport, your valid one and the expired one with the US visa.  What i don't know is gaano katagal renewal ng phil passport.  mabilis lang magsched for the US visa. hope that helps

Yes - USD10 via credit card.  mas sulit sa visapoint kasi you have the option to choose the time and date.  if you go through call center, you pay PHP30 per minute.  you will spend at least 15 minutes  or almost PHP400 din, plus you don't have that option to choose the date of your appointment.  if the call center agent said eto na pinakamaaga, no way for you to validate that.    mas sulit pa ang visapoint if you are applying together with your children or husband kasi pwede USD10 pero 2 or 3 family members are nag apply ng appointment.

^i see, thanks sis portugalbear. i might as well purchase a PIN na lang, sulit na din un kahit ako lang mag-isa mag-aapply since un call center M-F and office hours lang ang operation, don na ko sa VisaPoint na 24/7.

hi mga sisses, I already purchased PIN in VisaPoint to avail appointment pero wala ng available schedule from this month and whole year of 2011??? ang weird nman. please help if how can i select a regular appointment since i still need to do it before i could do the early appoinment request.

wahhhh! inisa-isa ko na hanggang 2015 un calendar lahat nakacolor lang na "not available" & "non-business day" un mga dates... bakit ganun?! (

^sis if I remember right you can access the schedules in visapoint during office hours same as the call center. Try it again tomorrow morning.

gusto ko na rin mag apply ulit ng visa. isasama ko na nanay ko sa pag apply/renew. kapag ba ganun na group, pag approved yun isa, approved na rin lahat? or posibleng may isang ma reject at isa lang ang ma approve?

may visa na si mother nag expire nung July. 5yrs multiple sya kasi ang stepdad ko e US citizen. ako naman twice na nagkaron 2005 at 2006 pero tig one entry lang for company training lang. sana multiple 10yrs na ibigay this time. mukhang maluwag pa rin naman sila di ba? 

is it true na di na pwede mag-iwan ng cellphone dun pag may interview ka?

^sis, hindi po pwede magdala ng cellphone. May mga vendor sa labas pwede mo iwan cellphone mo dun. Mukhang matagal na nilang business yun. Ilalagay nila sa plastic phone mo tapos bibigyan ka nila ng number para pag claim mo. Pero nakakatakot pa din

Hi sis, I got my schedule na next month! i'm so happy kala ko next year na makukuha ko, 2nd week ng December un kinuha ko although may available pa ng Dec1&3, kaso I still need time to prepare for documents. madami pa sched ng 2nd week ng December, buong 2nd week available pa. then 3rd & 4th week wala pa available. I wonder if January na un resume or hinde pa talaga nila pinopost un availabilty on succeeding weeks.
