Sis portugalbear, ok lang naman kung hindi kaw personally nagfill out especially if matanda na. I think it's understandable naman. Kaya lang kasi they want to make sure na lahat ng nakalagay sa form mo correct. Also, make sure na you answered all of the questions. Kasi if you answered 'does not apply' or 'don't know' itatanong pa din nila sayo yun and you have to have an answer. =)

Thanks Sis Honeyblue and Sis Katiztic - will tell my mom that she'd better remember all the details of her application.  Why kaya did they place this kind of interview sa simula pa lang?  When you guys say pinabalik, as in pinauwi yun applicant and ask them to apply again?  sayang naman yun binayad.

Thank God hubby was able to renew his visa this morning, hopefully 10yrs uli bigay sa kanya. He was scheduled at 8am and done by 9am, mabilis lang pala talaga pag morning appointment ka. By the way, tama yung info ng sis natin about filling out the form online, yung iba daw pinapunta sa nearby internet shop to fill up a new form kasi iba nag-fill up for them.

^^yep sis, ang sabi eh "you can always apply again" or "you can always fill up a form again" no problem naman na may naghelp sayo magfill up eh. ang ayaw ata nila is yung may tumulong sayo tapos sabi mo ikaw lang ang gumawa. ayaw nila yung nagsisinungaling i guess

Sis portugalbear, hindi nila kelangan magbayad ulit. It's either they reschedule or go to the internet shop to fill out the form and come back that same day. 
I think yung preliminary interview is for them to make sure na yung form mo is complete and correct.

Thanks Sis.  But super hassle pa din para sa mga matatanda if it shouyld happen.  Need to tell my mom to memorise to death all the details of her application para walang problema

Ano yun age para di na sumama both parents sa child for interview?  14 and above ba?   My son is 10 so tama ba na dapat both of us are present when he renews his visa sa embassy?  We both have US visas.

^^ hassle nga yun. Your mom doesn't have to memorize the details as long as complete yung masagot sa form mo. They will only insist for an answer pag di mo nalagay sa form.

Btw, got my visa na. They gave me another 10years. Yehey!

i'm 26, employed.
been granted 2 US visas before, both visas i've traveled to the US at least once.
my last was in 2008, however in 2009 nag expire na siya and hindi ko na na-renew cos nagchange ako ng jobs and nasayang din [textspeak!] US visa appli ko na i forgot na may expiry pala na 1 yr!
now i plan to travel by nov for vacation,and i know i should apply now na since it's late august already.
i'm just worried about the showmoney, cos i don't have a bank account enough to show i can finance my travel. can i just get a certification from my mom and show her bank statements instead that she's willing to finance my travels? should i bring all my old passports?

^ sis, mom mo na talaga ang magfinance ng trip? If yes, lagay mo sa form yun. I think pag renewal mas madali especially if you used your old visa. In my case kasi  they didn't even ask for any documents. Parang yung travel history lang tiningnan nila. Btw, I'm also 26 and 2008 din last trip ko to the states. Hehe. Pero I was interviewed with my parents. =)

Sis I believe it won't be of any help if you tell them it's your mom who is paying for your trip (despite it being a fact). This is because you're now 26 y/o and you'll most probably be told that you should travel on your own. No worries sis, they hardly ask for any docs nowadays. They like it better when one is employed at a stable company.

I have 2 friends here who recently got denied. They are previous Visa holders and have been to the US probably 6 times already. They are multi-millionaires. They're 21 and 22 y/o. Most probably reason of their denial is that they run the family's business but it's still under their parents' name...

I'm 26 yrs old getting married next year, we're planning to apply for a visa for honeymoon.

* currently a trainor in a manufacturing company for 3.5 yrs
* owns a car
* paying a condo unit w/my fiance
* minimal savings in bank

Fiance:
*currently an IT consultant
*owns a car
*paying a condo unit
*minimal savings in bank

Do you think it's best to apply after the wedding? or it's best to apply before the wedding and we will have all the copies of all the contracts of our booked wedding suppliers.

my mom's financing the trip, cos sasamahan ko siya sa business trip. thank you for all your advice. i'm the only daughter kasi so most of my travels,my mom finances. about the old passports? should i bring all of them?

^ bring them para sure pero they don't ask for it naman. they just ask you when was your last trip to the states, length of your stay, etc. good luck sis! =)

thanks! i have yet to fill up the application. lagi kong pino postpone. huhu. i've to do it kasi 2nd week of nov tentative trip ko. puwede naman tentative trip paalang right? not necessarily may ticket na ako?last, should i show proof of invitation of the event or does it matter since what really counts naman is my ties to pinas?

Hi to all, do you think we stand a chance to get a US Visa? First time lang po namin. Never been to US. Thanks so much!

Hubby and I are planning to the US for our bday and wedding anniversary and to visit our relatives that I haven't seen in many years. Do you think we have a chance if:

*Hubby supposed to work to the US (dependent nya ako). He was already approved for H1B visa by USCIS. He was scheduled for an interview/visa stamping when the employer called and told him that US is in recession so they would no longer need his employment.

*Hubby works at a prestigious software company for 3 years. I work at home as a developer. We have "underground biz".  Hubby has ITR, I have none.

*Have substantial money in bank/coop. TD and SA, all joint accounts (and/or).

*Parents have US and Canadian visas. They've been to US thrice. Mom currently in Canada. Older sibling is a Canadian citizen. Have aunts, uncles and cousins in US and are US citizens. I keep in touch with them.

*I've been traveling since I was little with my family. Hubby and I have been traveling around Asia especially on our birthdays and wedding anniversary. Si hubby sometimes due to work. We'd stay about 2 weeks at the most in one country.

*Will stay at my aunt's house when we go visit US. We'll shoulder our plane tickets, food and pocket money.

My Mom wants to apply for a Tourist Visa ng mga early October.

Ako sana mag bo-book ng appointment niya. I can do it online and pay the Visa Fee with my credit card on behalf of her naman di ba mga sis? When shall I do this?

Yes you can do that.  In fact, you can even change the date later on if necessary.  by now dapat open na yun calendar nila for October.  I think you should do this now at baka maubusan ka ng slots.
