How long does the embassy keep past application records?

My current case:

21 Year old Female
10-year multiple entry visa NEVER USED expired on May (my mom applied for it and we never got around to use it panic mode nako sobra)
Currently taking up a 1-year course in Australia
Dependent on my sister's and parents' income
My passport has got recent continuous travels to Singapore, Malaysia and here in Australia within the past year.

I'm only concerned and panicking about this now because I was young and ignorant then and I didn't know how important a US visa could be.  I,myself, have no personal assets though to be tied up with since I'm financially dependent.  I've only gotten the travel bug when I turned 20(hence the recent continuous travel)

Any advices?  Natatakot ako na nagexpire yung unused visa huhuhuhu

I want to go this Christmas break to west coast though


Also, ngek, kelangan lahat ng old passport? Paano ya nasa Pinas lahat ng lumang passport ko eh nasa Australia ako residing ngayon.

we stayed in US for 1 week only kase nainip kami dun. after mapasyalan namin yung alcatraz, sanfo bridge etcetera eh wala na kami magawa kase busy naman yung mga relatives namin so naiwan lang kami sa house so uwi agad kami ng pinas, now gusto namin dalawin yung sister ni hubby and pasyal na tuloy sa universal studio na i heard is super ganda daw, we will apply for a renewal. pero nakailang palit na kami ng passport, need ba ng embassy yung old passport na may US visa stamp sticker?

yes sis, better na dalhin mo yun, together with the passport kung saan nakadikit yung US visa nio ni hubby mo.

just to add, nung nag-apply kami ng family ko, naka-staple lahat ng old and new passports ng each applicant pero pinahiwalay din sa first step (booth sa pavillion). kinuha lang yung current tapos iniwan samin ang expired.

not sure if it changed now kasi old process pa kami ng application (last April).

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

   1. DS-160 ONLINE NONIMMIGRANT VISA ELECTRONIC APPLICATION – All applicants must complete the DS-160 Online Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application. Applicants can access the DS-160 from the Consular Electronic Application Center website.

      In order to avoid delays in processing visa applications, visa applicants or their representatives must ensure that the following information is correctly provided:

          * Applicant’s complete name (required format is Surname, First name(s), Middle Name(s))
          * Applicant’s passport information (the passport used in filling out the form must be the same passport presented on the day of interview)
          * Other Name(s) (for married female applicants, type your complete maiden name)
          * Purpose of Trip to the U.S. (if the answer falls under “Other,” it is a requirement to specify the purpose of travel in the blank provided)
          * Primary Occupation (if the answer falls under “Other,” it is a requirement to specify the occupation in the blank provided)
          * Contact Person and Contact Address in the United States
          * Father’s Complete Name (required format is Surname, First name(s), Middle Name(s))
          * Mother’s Complete Maiden Name (required format is Surname, First name(s), Middle Name(s))

      Please review the Frequently Asked Questions for instructions about the DS-160. If you have a question about filling out the online DS-160 that is not answered in the FAQs, please send us an e-mail.

   2. PASSPORT – Signed passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of intended departure from the United States. The passport must be in good condition, i.e., photo lamination is undamaged, and all passport pages are intact.

      Applicants must also present all previously issued passports or notarized affidavits of loss, if applicable.

      Taiwanese passport holders who do not have Taiwan personal identification numbers listed above the date of birth on the biographic data page in their passports must present their original Philippine residency permit.

   3. PHOTO – One 2” x 2” standard, full-frontal face position color photo against a white background taken within the last six (6) months is required.

   4. EXTENSION OF STAY/CHANGE OF STATUS – Please bring copies of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) approvals of extension of stay or change of status, if applicable.

   5. PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP (if applying with/for dependent/s)
          * Original marriage certificate printed on Philippine National Statistics Office security paper, if applicable (if applying with a spouse and/or child)
          * Original birth certificate printed on Philippine National Statistics Office security paper (for dependent/s)

ang validity ba ng visa , kelangan 6 months active, parang sa passport or until the month na nakalagay sa visa? say, yung visa will expire on may 2011. is  ok to travel to the US from march to april 2011?

Unlike the passport, which needs to be at least 6 months valid beyond the date of travel, you can use the US visa until its last day of validity. For example, your visa is valid until 25Mar2011. You can still use it to enter the US as long as you step on US soil by 25Mar2011. Your stay will be determined by the immigration authorities upon arrival, anyway. So even if less than 6 months valid na lang when you leave, as long as it is still valid when you enter the US, ok pa. I've had lots of passengers before in this kind of situation. No problem or questions at all.

hubby, me and our 2 kids will aply na for a US visa, sana ma approve  anong chances kaya now. we were granted a USvisa before pero indi namin ni renew.

Mine's expiring this coming April and my family and I are planning to go back on March for a month or so para sulit. Kakagaling ko lang kasi nung May sa SFO. Ang mahal na din kasi ngayon mag-apply diba. Ok lang yan. Happy trip to your mom!

I need help mga sis.

This is for my Mom. Her sister's (half-sisters) are in the US since 1950's pa. They want Mom to visit them. Lagi kasi sila bumibista nun sa Pinas kaya lang one of my Auntie's eh di na kaya mag travel. They will pay for her flight and she will stay with them for the duration of her trip.

Mom worked in the UAE for 22 years. She's now retired and resides in Philippines. She's been granted a UK Tourist Visa twice na and she's been visiting me in Singapore since I moved to Singapore last year.

Kasya na ba ang P130k na show money? Una kasi want namin idaan ng agency pero mukhang straight forward naman ang application.

If she is planning to get an interview mga mid-September. Can she request for a date now? O masyado pa maaga?

If ma approve siya want sana niya umalis ng November and spend Christmas & New Year there and umuwi ng Pinas ng mga mid January.

What's the shortest visa they can issue? Sa UK embassy kasi minimum is 6 months tapos multiple entry.

I do hope na ma approve ang visa ng Mom ko since my Aunt is very ill.

sisses pede kaya kami makakuha ng tourist visa going to US kahit wala kami relatives don, my husband and i both have stable jobs and savings, balak kasi namin mag tour sa wedding anniversary namin sa hotel kami mag stay. May chance ba kami. And kailangan na ba namin bumili ng ticket and mag pa book ng hotel bago kami mag apply para may maipakita kami sa interview? Hong kong resident kami, makakatulong ba yon para makakuha kami ng visa? TIA

hi sis wala namang problem yun. you just have to try. kelangan mo lang naman ma-convince yung consul through your status na hindi ka mag TNT sa US. pero since may stable jobs naman kayo and investments, maganda naman yung chance nio.

And kailangan na ba namin bumili ng ticket and mag pa book ng hotel bago kami mag apply para may maipakita kami sa interview?

^no sis, hindi yan guarantee. saka hindi naman nila hinahanap kung may ticket ka na or itinerary.

Sis Amnesia,  depende yan sa consul.  but opinion ko lang to, good chance na ma-approve siya kasi extensive yun history of travel niya.  on the show money, she needs to state clearly how she will fund her trip.  Dapat consistent lang siya sa mga sagot niya.   Like what the other sis her says, the consul sometimes just gauge you by the interview at di na binabasa yun other documents.  You can try and see if may dates available na for September.   Good luck to your mom and keep us posted on what happens.

minsan swerte swerte lang din yata yung pagkuha ng visa. yung nanay ko nung nag-apply ng 2001, first time nya, never din pa siya nakaalis ng country. the consul gave her a 10 year, multiple entry visa. ang tanong lang daw sa kanya, bakit di pa sya nagtratravel. ang sagot nya kasi nag-aaral pa yung mga anak nya.  so minsan sheer luck lang siguro.
