hi!... i run a small tutorial services business... it will actually depend on which subjects the student will be tutored on, and the age of the student... with regards to payment, it will depend on your agreement with the teacher... for us, we opt to get paid every two weeks para di rin masyadong mabigat sa parents, and para ma-appreciate din ng tutor yung kita nya...

^Sa mga teacher na nagtutor, kinder students is 2500 monthly english only, 2500 for chinese, 1hr per day monday to saturday.  Monthly payment yan.

^^just to give you an idea... when we tutor grade school students, from gr 1-4, our rate is P200 for daily 1hour tutorial, for all subjects... if the parents opt for longer than 1 hr, which is often the case, we charge P175/hr... for preschool and special kids, it's 25-50% higher...

if the student needs specialized tutoring, like in math or english, standard rate is 200/hr, if daily basis... we charge transpo allowance if broken sked, like when hired only during exams or review... payment is every 2 weeks...

okay na rin pala yung tutor ng anak ko. grade 1 yung son ko, 2500 ang bayad namin tapos 1hr/day  5days in a week. all subjects din yun pati assignment nya sila ng tutor gumagawa. teacher nya nung prep ang tutor ng son ko, paglabas ng son ko sa school derecho na sya sa tutor dun na sya hinahatid ng service tapos susunduin nalang ng yaya after an hr.

for my incoming 3rd year high school it's 3k ( math , science  and english only).   5 days a week 1 hr per session or until  the tutor covers all what is needed to finish kaya madalas umaabot sila ng 2 hrs but no additional fee.

I pay 5k for my daughter's tutor covering all subjects 5x a week. Dapat 1 hour/ day. Pero they normally take more than an hour, no additional fee too.

For my incoming grade 1 son, it is 5,500 per month, all subjects na daw, 2 hours a day, 5 times a week. Sila na susundo sa school kasi katabi lang naman at kasama na yun assignments. Group of 3 students yun, max na three.  My son had a tutor when he was in pre- school and based on experience it is better when kids are tutored outiside their home. Kids can be territorial you know. When he was being tutored at home, he won't pay attention to the tutor, nagtatago under the table, tumatabling tambling ganun. Minsan pinapauwi si tutor. hehe. When i tried na sa labas sya i-tutor ayun nag ok sya. Mas naging competitive sya sa group tutorial. Sa one on one kasi na bore sya.

pa-join mga sis. this thread could prove to be helpful as im looking for a tutor for my son right now - specifically in Language, Science, and Sibika (segway - can't really understand kung bakit sya nahihirapan sa Sibika). i asked one of my friends, and yung na-recommend nya is nasa halos P400/hr, 3-4 times a week. the tutor is a preschool teacher, sideline nya yung tutoring. not sure if it is reasonable given na hindi naman lahat ng subjects, tapos im not sure pa kung may additional charge kapag nag-exceed ng kahit mga 30mins.

^ Reasonable naman ang Php400/hour, whether it is for a few or for all subjects (IMO, hindi naman kaya sa 1 hour lang ang lahat ng subjects if ever).  Check with the tutor kung strict ba siya sa oras.  Some tutors charge extra kapag lumampas sa 1 hour, some do not.  Discuss her tutoring style and your goals for your child para malinaw ang parameters ng tutoring ninyo.  Regarding the fee, check din kung may monthly fee siya for unlimited hours baka mas makamura ka.

You can ask around sa schools and preschools around your area or get referrals from the teachers of your kids.
