hmm.. i'm not sure if my experience could help.

I got married kasi at San Agustin. We had our canonical interview there (as well as pre cana). Yung priest eh priest don pero I doubt na sha ang magkakasal sa amin. Parang napadaan lang sha sa office at nagpaalam na may lakad.  Tapos since hindi pa ready yung maghahatid sa kanya at may spare time sha for our interview, he conducted the interview. The interview lasted for less than 15 minutes lang. It wasn't an interview per se. More on pinagsabihan kami and lecture about marriage and RH bill.

Yung nagkasal sa amin is a priest from another church. Dinala namin sha sa San Agustin.

i hope someone can answer me. anytime ba pwede ito or need mauna yung pre-cana? we are already starting planning for dec 2012 or jan 2013 wedding and gusto ko sana as soon as ma book na yung church we will also do na the canonical interview. i plan that dec this year may church na kami eh. too early ba baka kasi this is like yung marriage license and other legal docs na dapat 4 mos before the wedding ang validity. thanks

i believe wala namang validity ang canonical interview, although karamihan ng churches eh hindi ganon ka-aga mag schedule.. in my case, my wedding was September, they scheduled me for an interview in July... pre cana namin was in August. And sa iba naman, they wouldn't schedule you until you have submitted some documents sa kanila, at least the confirmation and baptismal certs... kasi sa pagkaka-alam ko, parish church ang nagshedule, unless you request for your own schedule in cases na, aalis ka ng manila soon and you won't be arriving until 3 days before your wedding...

try to talk to the parish office assistants, para mas maliwanagan ka.. iba-iba rin kasi ang patakaran ng mga simbahan sa ganyan...

^ thanks you so much sis for your reply. sige when we do ocular sa church tanong ko na din lahat ng mga requierements. gusto ko kasi masimulan na pa konti konti kasi june of next year hindi na ako pwede matulungan ni fiance kaya sana before mag june yung mga need na kailangan kami 2 matapos na sana.

^ you're welcome.. just be mindful of the validity ng mga docs, para hindi masayang ang pag process...

confirmation and baptismal certs with "for marriage purposes" annotation - 6 months
marriage license - 120 days
cenomar - 1 year (although may ibang municipalities and cities na gusto pagkakuha mo ng cenomar ipasa agad, kasi nga cert of no marriage siya... kasi pag 6 months na since nakuha yung cenomar, papakuhain ka rin nila ng bago.. kasi may possibility na makasal sa loob ng 6 months.. )

usually naman sis, yung church ang nag aasign ng date for canonical interview. but you can still check it with them, kung pwede na magpa canonical pang nag pa reserve na kayo. in our case naman, may 2012 wedding namin, pero naka sched na kami for canonical this Dec 6

We already had our canonical interview, it was more on personal questions based on our application form. We asked the parish office kung pwede yung nag-interview na sa amin ang magkasal but sabi yung parish priest raw ang mag-o-officiate ng wedding mass. Our pre-cana is scheduled this weekend...funny kasi every week nalang nagtatanung kami kung pwede na magbayad sa church lagi nalang sinasabi tsaka na, para bang maaagawan pa kami sa date namin, lol.

Question na rin girls: ilang weeks ba ang bonds? worry ko baka ma-short kami sa time our wedding is on the 16th of december.

^3weeks sis.. 3 consecutive sundays actually ia-announce sa mass sa inyong respective parishes.. after that, babalikan niyo yun tapos bibigay senyo yung part na nakalagay yung dates kung kelan inanounce sa mass at kung wala naman nagreklamo o tumutol at pirma ng parish priest.. may bayad din pala yun, php250 siningil samin.. plus php50 naman sa permit since tagaytay wedding kami..

so para sure mas maganda sis kung a month before the wedding maipasa niyo na yung banns sa parishes niyo.. kami kasi dec8 wedding pero nagpasa kami ng banns ng oct 25 so unang announcement is oct30, then nov6 at nov13.. nov17 nakuha na namin yung banns then nov19 nai-submit na namin sa church kung saan kami ikakasal..

naku po sis (panic mode) eh 3 sundays before our wedding will start on the 27th of this month, that's on coming sunday..kainis naman. 26 palang ang pre-cana..eee, na-rattle akong bigla. I'll call the parish office tom..thanks a lot sis.

^samin 5 months before the wedding ang inesched ng church. next month kami. depende sa kanila yun, kasi may mga ibang churches, need muna ma process ang mga documents, before makapag canonical interview eh.

what teh difference of pre-cana ba and canonical?

i see. kapag pre cana sis, yun nung mga seminar about marriage talaga, like how to conceive a baby and more on marriage counseling, tips and the like. and for canonical interview sis, andyan nung mga questions na tipong: may mga pumilit ba sa inyo na mag pakasal, bakit kayo magpapakasal, basta more on sa side na tatanugnin kayo bakit gusto nyo magpakasal. kasi syempre, need din nila malaman baka mamaya, yung bride pala, pinilit lang diba? or the other way around. hehe. yung nag fill out kasi kami ng registration forms, nakita ko yung mga questions nila for canonical interview eh. meron pa nga dun tanong kung papakasalan ko pa daw ba si h2b if i found out na he's gay; may anak na sa iba. etc. yung iba naman natin sisses, for canonical, pinaparecite daw ang apostle's creed, 7 sacraments, act of contrition .. 10 commandments

yung wedding banns namin binigay sa amin ng malate church kahit hindi pa tapos ang pre cana... pagka bigay namin ng marriage license, pinaghintay lang kami sa office tapos pinauwi na sa amin yung banns... yes 3 consecutive sundays po yun ia-announce sa respective parishes niyo. and yes ulit may bayad, sa amin P700...

re the interview itself, hindi naman mahirap sagutin... nung sa amin medyo alangan kami kasi baka kwestyunin ni father na bakit kami magpapakasal agad eh wala pa kaming 1 year... hehe..  nag inquire ako dati sa mater dolorosa church sa makati at may exam sila!!! waaa!!!  sa sta.clara de montefalco din yata sa pasig.. dun naman, mabook mo lang yung date pag naipasa mo yung interview... kaloka! yun pa naman yung isa mga choices ko dati kasi napa-wow talaga ako sa ganda ng church...

nung pre cana namin, doctora yung speaker, we talked about sex in a nice way, kasi nga how to conceive nga ang usapan... tinuruan pa pano maka-boy.. hehe... tapos yung 2nd part ng seminar about marriage counseling... may activity na tinest kung pareho kami ng magiging desisyon sa ibat-ibang sitwasyon... para sa amin, inspiring ang helpful yung pre cana namin..
