Canonical interview

done na kami last saturday pa, just didn't have time to tell my story..
halos 15 minutes lang yung samin, thanks be to God..parang nabunutan ng tinik haha! Mabait yung parish priest  mukhang seryoso nga lang, tas nung nalaman nya na parishioner si h2b, sabi samin avail daw namin ang 20%off so nakatipipd tuloy kami sa fee sa church haha!

Anyway, the interview was quick, we were called together asked a few questions like our birthdays, our confirmation/baptismal dates, san lumaki etc. then the groom was asked to step out of the room, I was left and asked why we wanted to get married,, tas kung ready na ba daw kami sa responsibilities, was also reminded that marriage is for life..ganon lang.. tas after a couple of minutes ako naman yung pinalabas tas tapos na.

will the canonical interview be different if mixed marriage?

Sister in law ko mixed marriage sila sa San Agustine Church. Same lang daw sis. :-) Common questions are where are you residing after the wedding. If dito sa Philippines or sa ibang bansa (If hindi taga dito yung husband mo). They will also ask you kung ano yung religion ng magiging anak niyo. If Catholic ba or susundin yung sa husband mo. :-)

Questions naman... Sino na dito nakapag Canonical Interview sa Malate Church? Kelan ba siya dapat? Upon submission of requirements diba? Our wedding will be on March 09,2012. When is the earliest date na pwede na kami mag canonical interview and may fee ba?

hoyhoy - wow sis! i'm happy for you! congrats buti nalang naging smooth ang canonical interview nyo. is it true na you have to recite the 10 commandments? and apostles creed?

sa amin, hindi naman, i guess depende talaga din sa church. just hope and pray na hindi na iparecite, better yet imemorize talaga haha!

parang ganyan din ang questions sakin.. may personal questions din, work, family, etc.. si h2b muna, tapos ako, tapos kaming 2 na.. before kami isinalang para interview-hin ni father, may staff ng simbahan na nagpa-recite samin ni h2b yung apostles creed, hail mary, our father, act of contrition (eto yung di namin kabisado), 10 commandments, 7 sacraments at 5 obligations ata yun.. buti na lang dun sa mga commandments, sacraments at obligations puwedeng jahit 1 lang samin ang may alam.. kumbaga nagtulungan kami na mabuo yung mga yun.. LOL kasi naman, binigay samin yung mga yun nung binigay samin yung banns at permit pero di ko naalala na sabihin ke h2b.. kaya ayun.. hehe.. wala pang 1hr tapos na kami.. pero sabi samin ni manang need daw namin kabisaduhin yung act of contrition kasi part daw yun sa confession before the wedding.. sa saturday naman seminar namin..

mga sis, canonical interview na namin on Dec 6 sa don bosco. and eto nag rereview na ako. i memorize ko ulit yan. haha  para siguro lang.

canonical interview namen sa Nov 23. hindi ko alam yung 5 obligations. ginoogle ko pa talaga. ito ba yon?

1. The faithful are required to attend the celebration of the Eucharist every Lord's Day, Sunday or Saturday vigil, unless excused for a serious reason
2. The faithful are required to confess sins at least once a year.
3. The faithful are required to receive Holy Communion at least once a year during the Easter season [but are encouraged to receive Christ in the Eucharist daily if possible].
4. In addition to the Lord's Day the faithful are required to keep all Holy Days of Obligation.
5. The faithful are required to observe the prescribed days of fasting and abstinence.

sorry i can't help but smile..(tapos na kasi kami  yabang! ) parang periodical exam lang ng mga couples di ba me research at review pa talaga at memorization on the side... papasa kayo jan! alala ko sa sobrang kaba namin ni h2b, meron dun sa form na finill up namin parang ang question are you fully aware of the christian doctrine di namin alam ang ibig sabihin ng chrisian doctrine, tagal namin pinag isipan kung yes ba or no ang isasagot, sabi na lang namin sige no na lang, buti di na kami tinanong ng pari about that...

ayaw ko mag pa impress dun, baka sabihin ni father :nene, bakit di ka nalang ng madre? alam mo lahat ng sagot sa mga tanong. LOL
pero , mas maganda parin ang prepared. kinakabahan din tuloy ako. waahh.

^ i think pwedeng ibang priest. ang alam ko kung sino nakaassign na priest during your interview not necessarily siya din yung magkakasal sa inyo unless ni-request mo

^ i see. thanks sis. so one thing is for sure, this needs to happen sa church where you'll get married, right? kasi we plan to get a priest from manila so we thought sa kanya na lang magpa-canonical pero learning from this thread, need pala magpa-canonical dun sa church mismo.
