SPLASH MOUNTAIL: LAGUNA
Just want to share and give warning and some lesson learned things nadin to
those who regularly or even not frequently go to resorts or any place.

Last Saturday, we have a wedding coordinated at Splash Mountain Los Banos. Side
comment muna ha. long read ito pasensya na. Will write it according to thumbs up
and down

Thumbs Down- super daming thumbs down negative pa ang ratings.

1: We booked splash mountain for over night stay due to instead of going home
after the wedding the team decided to stay and enjoy for the next day. The
wedding was successful kudos to all suppliers. Any way.. Hubby booked a 1
standard room (couples room as they called) where it can accomodate 2 persons
but they allowed us to add additional person in the room. We just have to pay
extra person and extra bed charge.
Another room was also booked. It was the family room (para naman samin ito ni
hubby with my parents, sister and briel). Since we have a baby we asked if they
have a ref for us to store briel's food. MERON DAW!

Here comes the day, the receptionist told us we can't get the couple's room for
the allowed maximum person allowed to stay there is two. We have to updgrade daw
to group room where 4 room persons can stay and instead of paying additional
extra person and bed on family room di na daw gagawin nalang is irerecord nila
na 4 will stay at group room and 4 will stay at family room. But we still
upgraded the couples room and if to sum up the total cost lugi padin kami. Me
extra padin amount na dagdag compare sa we get the couples room and pay the
extra bed and person.

Walang ref! as in wala! napanis ang food ni briel. Buti we brought gerber and
healthy option baby food.

Even the giant slide, it was closed daw pag di summer. We even asked this month
if its open and the staff said YES!.. The other guest also we talked to a guest
where they promised free breakfast. Pag dating nun day walang breakfast pala.
The people there are not talking to each other. They even cant provide simple
request from the guest. Lahat me bayad ultimo baso na nadala namin sa resort
from room hinanap kasi 100 daw charge e tag 10 pesos lang naman bibilhin yun..
hinanap nila ha, yun dslr nun friend ko parang wala silang paki..

The room is not even what we see at their website. Di ko gusto yun family room
and the group room.

2. About the ratings naman namin sa catering ng hotel. Parang di sanay sa
wedding ang mga tao dun. They seem overwhelmed sa dami ng food. During dinner
Princess my team mate ask the waiter if they could provided us 3 fresh lumpia
for the PV sana.
parang napahiya daw sya sa way na pagkakasabi nun waiter. after nun
pinababantayan na namin sila. kasi me time pa na after nun incident na yun
tanungin ba ako if they can pack the food na haller uli.. anong pack e di pa
tapos yun event nasa dessert time palang yun mga tao me babalik pa nya ipack na
nila? and i even saw one waiter na me tinago plastic sa ilalim nun cover ng
buffet table. Again the waiter asked one of my team mate if they could pack na
kasi nakakain na lahat. sagot nalang nun kasama mo.. BUFFET? kaya nga buffet
kasi pwede bumalik...

3. DSLR and bag of my friend was stolen from his locked car. Ang mali siguro is
they put the cam and the bag sa driver's seat. Busy kasi kami coordinating the
final task from the wedding. We thought since the resort have security at the
gate we thought we are secured. The cam and the bag was placed at the car around
730-830 PM. Syempre nasa venue pa kami dahil lagi naman we are the last supplier
to go aside sa waiters. past 9 na nun nakaalis kami me naiwan pa nga 2 waiters
na mag lilinis ata. We even said good bye to them. Then we parked na the cars
near the hotel.
We suspected na either from the waiters or a guest
ang kumuha kasi they saw us sa event using the cam to take some photos ng
wedding for our collection naman..

So mga before 10PM we went back sa venue to ask. Tapos Dulce the emcee called us
na naiwan daw nya CP nya. nakasaksak sa me mobile system. Nakita po ni Princess
na nakasaksak yun during the event even Dennis yun staff ng resort na incharge
for the mobile system. Pero wala na nun binalikan namin. Sabi ni Dennis wala daw
syang nakita nun nagligpit sya. We dont know the fact lang na for sure staff ng
system e. SIno ba me access sa area na yun. Mumurahin lang ang phone pero naka
plan din yun..

We asked the guard if me CCTV wala.. wala kasi din ilaw yun streets nila. Me
CCTV sa me lobby nakikita sino papasok sa venue. Yun car was parked infront of
the lobby entrance. we saw lots of people nasa harap. we know that kasi mga
guest nakatayo lang sa labas.. Napakalakas ng loob nun kumuha. The driver seat
is nasa front side so if bubuksan mo yun car kitang kita ka ng mga tao but who
will notice na di sayo yun car?
face.. we dont know if sila yun.. di naman kasi pumasok na sa lobby.

Wala kami na feel na concern from them. We know din its our fault. Masyado kami
lax in keeping those valuables things at that time.

Nagradyo naman sila pero wala din we dont know if
ginawa nga ba.

The next day, me dumating na pulis.. sabi talagang me mga ganun incidents daw sa
resort.
to or what.

security nila.

daw available pag summer lang daw as if naman nag snow pag tag ulan!...

wala din silang phone. pag me tatawagan ka sa hotel nila from suites kasi
magkaibang building yun di daw pwede kumunek kailangan daw puntahan mo. hahaha

Lesson learned. Kahit saan po talaga dont leave your valuables sa car. IF di
mamahalin.. Tsaka masarap po yun buco pie at cassave sa D'ivinas hehe along the
high way po sya from Splash Mountain..

i wouldnt recommend  Cavite beach resorts in Caylabne beach Maragondon  and Puerto azul Naic area for the waters are too murky with garbage coming from bacoor aside from the Poor facilities and food.
I am dumb to say this, i searched it online last year and never looked at the obsolete dates posted.

here's my review of callosspa when my bf and I celebrated our 1st anniv. It wasn't a pleasing experience at all.

Place- small though decent enough and clean

Food- Nothing special (a bit pricey... imagine we orderred for a box of meatlovers pizza from shakeys and callospa charged us 400 pesos for it).

Service- Very poor. No one welcomed us when we arrived. We didnt know where to go. We were asked to wait for 30min because the room that we reserved for a week before is not yet prepared. the dinner is late for an hour and we were asked to finish it soon becaues their staff will be out by 9pm. The therapists are not professional. The one who massaged me is just 16y/o. They use a single type of oil that made me shiver and made me feel like im going to get sick. The breakfast is late for 30 min and again we were rushed because we have to checkout at 10am.

Jacuzzi- the pandan leaves cut diagonally and the slices of lemon hits my body during the jacuzzi.

Body Scrub- The scrub area is scarry. It felt like Im gonna be killed like a pig. its a small tiled room with a blackleather bed with bars on each side (same as those that you see in the hospital) then there's a shower. they will ask you to lay down and they will wash your body, then do the body scrub. The staff by the way is wearing an apron. The water is cold because their heater isn't working.

Massage- No idea how it was beacuse my body was shivering due to the oil they used.

Romantic Dinner Package- its supposed to be a surprise by chubby but the owner revealed it while we are waiting for our room. She was trying to boast the romantic dinner area to me. The dinner itself is just fine. With the candles and rose petals scatterred around made the romantic mood. The food is pre served, the soup was there when we came and the food is already in the table just wrapped with a plastic. The dessert was banana split that is already soupery when we finished our food.

The Room- its a small room with a veranda that gave us a view of the place. they dont have intercom. there's also no cable tv.

I won't recommend MORONG STAR in Bataan. We went there last 2008 and we're all disappointed. Some pointers that me made say not to go in this place ever:
1- Gray to black yung sand ng beach nila pati tubig ng dagat hindi blue/green but gray din.
2- Hindi well-kept yung place as a whole.
3- Mahal yung room for having just a bed, flourescent light, 1 small toilet na gagamitan mo pa ng tabo para maligo. That means there's no shower at minsan walang tubig. Madali pa magbara yung toilet/bathroom nila.
4- Nag-iisa lang ang restaurant nila. Mahal na hindi pa masarap. As in worst sisig I ever ate! Parang tira-tirang meat kung meat nga yung sangkap nun.
5- Ang bagal ng services nila. From check-in to requests to food to check-out.
6- Madaming fixers.
7- They have this island hopping na white sand daw. In fairness, madami sila naloloko dun.
8- Everyday you will hear Dating Daan mentor (sorry I forgot his name) played all over the resort. I have nothing against Dating Daan, pero resort naman sya so I think dapat hindi ganun yung pine-play nila di ba?
9- Nag-iisa lang ang swimming pool nila, so pag madaming guests sobrang crowded. Madumi na yun tubig di pa nililinis.
10- Sobrang layo puntahan, nasa looban pa sila!

Bataan is a very nice place to visit, but definitely not this MORONG STAR RESORT. I'd rather go to their historical places.

DUMALUAN BEACH RESORT 2 in panglao bohol. i know madami pa rin magsstay dito kasi konti lang choices in that area and they're the more affordable option pa. but i still want people to know what happened to us para at least alam nila.
quoting my post in the bohol thread:

had a HORRIBLE experience with DUMALUAN 2 nung 26 ng gabi!!! we spent 2 hours fighting with their front desk people and management. at hindi rin naresolve ng maayos.

our family have been constant patrons of both DBR1 and 2 in the past. and for the past 4 years din, every dec 26, me and my cousins have this tradition of having an overnight trip to the beach. and dito kami sa DBR2 nagsstay.  but never have we been so TERRIBLY DISAPPOINTED with how we were treated.

the night before, we called DBR2 to reserve 2 adjacent cottages that were 1k each. in the past ganito din ginagawa namin. we just call the day before or 2 days before to make a reservation. then usually, they just confirm it. in the past 3 years, we never had a problem with this. so this time, ganun din ginawa namin. so when we called, they also confirmed the reservation right there and then.

yesterday, when we were on our way na to panglao, their front desk person called us to confirm if we were coming. so we told her na on the way na kami. then sabi niya may problem daw yung isang cottage kasi sira yung fan. so isa nalang yung available. so we told them na 11 kami so definitely, di kami kasya sa 1 cottage. so she said, let's just fix it when get there since on the way na kami.

when we got there. there really wasn’t any “fixing” done. they just reiterated to us na 1 nalang talaga yung room na available. we insisted that they do something about it because 1) we were there na. they informed us about it nung papunta na kami, 2) they told us na confirmed na yung 2 reserved rooms namin, 3) it’s  not our fault na nasira yung fan.

and another thing, during the discussion, we also found out na mali pala yung naireserve samin na room. instead na 2 adjacent cottages na tig 1k each, they reserved 1 cottage na 1k and another na 1,200 and it’s not even magkatabi. and it’s the 1k cottage pa na sira. ang reason nila is wala na daw kasing ibang available kaya yun yung naireserve samin. they didn’t even bother to confirm if we’re ok with that.

then the front desk person offered another “solution”. meron daw kasing 2 other rooms na reserved pero hindi pa dumadating yung nagpareserve. so she’ll give us nalang daw the other room. as much as i wanted to accept the offer. i thought that was rather unfair naman to the other guest. pano kung dumating sila bigla diba? kung ako sila, i’d be furious. then later on biglang binawi nung front desk person yung offer kasi nakapag down payment na pala yung guests. so now they’re insisting we just get the room and pay for all the extra people. at this point, we’re getting frustrated. imagine 11 kami tapos dala naming lahat ng gamit. plus we brought food and drinks pa good for dinner and breakfast so imagine gano kadami dala naming and gano kami nagprepare for this tapos ganito lang mangyayari. they’re basically telling us na pagtiyagaan nalang namin yung room. bahala na kahit muka kaming sardinas dun. what irked us more is that the staff talking to us, were not even cordial. ang sarcastic nila kausap and parang they just what to get us out of their hair.

at this point, we asked for the manager na. rachel dumaluan, the manager, (daughter of dr. dumaluan, the owner) talked to us. we were hoping  na sana since she’s the manager and she practically bears the name of the resort, she’d be more accommodating and easier to talk to. apparently not. she informed us that in the first place, we didn’t go by their policy. we should have paid a down payment before a cut off time so that our reservation will be confirmed. in the first place, wala namang nagsabi nun samin. for the past 4 years, we’ve been doing the same thing and never pa kaming sinabihan na kelanagan ng down payment. willing naman kaming mag down payment eh. but no one told us that. we even asked the person over the phone kung ok na ba yung reservation namin and sabi niya, ok na daw. she just got our name and then confirmed the reservation. so again, it’s not our fault. so rachel told us na she’ll offer us nalang another room. buinild up pa niya yung room na bago lang daw yun. kami daw yung first na gagamit. it’s airconditioned pa with tv and cr. but when we checked out the room, as in parang feeling namin, para bang gusto nilang itambak nalang kami dun para manahimik nalang. it was on the other side of the resort. we had no neighbors, it was dark, and yung paligid niya wasn’t even tended. may mga nakakalat pa na construction materials. and besides, this room was on the other end of the resort while the other room was on the opposite end. pano naman kami magenjoy nun kung magkakalayo kami. then rachel was saying pa na that room daw was worth something like 3k but she’ll give it to us na 1k nalang. the way she said it pa, parang dapat may utang na loob pa kami sa kanya. the whole time, you could really feel how plastic she was while dealing with us. after this incident, i found out from stories of some friends here in bohol that rachel dumaluan and her mom don’t really have a nice rep in terms of attitude. so they were not surpised that we felt that way.

after some more discussions, waiting, and sarcasm from the staff, we thought, since ang sabi nila nasira yung fan nung room originally reserved for us, baka naman kaya kahit walang fan since it was cold naman. or kahit na they lend us nalang an electric fan. ganun na kami kadesperate para lang matapos na and we could all move on with our lives. then all of a sudden, they were telling us na it was the room na daw itself na sira. we were asking kung ano ba talaga yung sira, they were saying na basta sabi ng management, di pwede so yun na yun. then sabi pa nila sabi daw ng management bawal daw silipin, hawakan or even lapitan yung room. mejo nagduda tuloy kami at this point na baka mamaya, wala namang sira yung room. baka binigay pala nila sa ibang guest or something which wasn’t impossible since, from our experience, hindi maayos ang reservations nila.

at this point sobrang frustrated na talaga kami. we’ve been there for almost 2 hours na with all our stuff and no place to stay. and we felt na they weren’t really helping us find a solution to a problem which we didn’t cause in the first place. they just really wanted us to shut up. we were really tired na rin so we asked if we could see the cottage na available (this was the 1,200 cottage which was wrongly reserved for us). baka naman since mas mahal siya ng konti, mas malaki din ng konti and pwede na naming tiyagain. but then ngayon biglang naman ayaw nila ipakita samin. bawal daw ipakita yung room pag hindi nakareserve sayo. WTF? that’s their policy daw. this i though was just plain BS. we tried to reason with them kasi we felt na that really made no sense. eh pinayagan nga nila kami tingnan yung isang room na di naman namin talaga pinareserve taposa itong room na nireserve nila for us, di na pwede. So they finally allowed us to go see it. but here’s another thing. while we were looking at the cottage, one of their security guards was following us then when we were inside the cottage, nakatayo siya sa labas holding his gun (yung mahabang gun na usually dala ng guards ng banks) na para bang nakaabang samin. ano yun? parang may shoot to kill order kami?!

ang ending, after a very very long discussion, we got the room na 1,200. mainly because  we had no more choice plus we were very tired and hungry na. we got there mga 7:30 and past 9 na kami nakapag check in. we insisted that we’re not paying for extra person charge and we’ll only pay 1k since yun naman talaga yung nireserve naming. and after all the hassle we went through for something that was obviously their fault, I think we even deserve more. nung una, ayaw pa pumayag pero hindi kami papayag na magbayad ng full price after what we went through.

after paying, nakita naming si dr dumaluan, the owner of the resort. friend siya ng tito ko and he knows our family. so we told him about what happened. sadly, all we got from him was “ganun talaga, minsan may lapses”, a few laughs, and a “don’t worry, we’ll find a remedy” (which never came)

after all this fiasco, we never heard a single sorry from any of them. napilitan nalang kami magsiksikan sa cottage na yun. may 2 nga samin na dun na natulog sa labas nung cottage.

from now on i am boycotting dumaluan 2!

'Yung resort ni Ricky Reyes. I forgot the name... but for me, it's a so-so resort. Nothing really special.

Azul del Mar in Panglao, Bohol.

Kaso nung nakarating kami at nakita namin ang room namin we felt na gusto na naming umalis kaagad tas pagod pa kami from the tour. Sobrang sikip ng room at CR, maalat ang tubig sa CR and di naman na nagagamit yung pool; yung room na binigay pa sa amin eh parang hollow blocks lang na pininturahan yung walls at amoy na amoy yung cigarette smoke, and the smoker was from the porch dun sa adjacent room. We asked for a better room, pero walang vacant room kasi andun ata yung may-ari.. So wala kaming magawa but to look for another lodging the next day; nasira bakasyon namin dahil dun.

We realized na we were ripped off nung nalaman namin na mura lang pala ang per night sa kanila (package kasi ang kinuha namin and around 7k/pax yung binayaran namin na walang airfare nor sea transfers from Cebu. Hindi na pinaalam sa akin ng sis ko kung sino yung tour operator na na-contact nya to keep my anger at bay.) Nonetheless you can find a better room for the same price in DBR2 or BBR/Dubay.

Lesson learned for me: Research before getting deals with packaged tours. And sadly, gawain na talaga ng mga resorts sa Panglao na i-accommodate muna yung naunang nakarating (kahit na wala syang reservation) kesa dun sa nakareserve na talaga; so I say wag nyong payagan yung driver na mag-tour muna pag hapon kayo nakarating.

Thunderbird Rizal

They are expensive for what you get, very strict with food and the number of people, not a lot of amenities plus they won't allow slippers in their casino.

Ambay Iba resort Zambales.

Why?

Super kapal ang mapupunta sa katawan mo and it doesn't look and feel good.
  • Andaming seaweed at crawling creatures na kakapit sa katawan. Meron pang iba na kahit maliliit e super itchy
  • the rooms are, although spacious at mayroong aircon, 'yung mga outlets e sira. Muntikan pang masira 'yung isang charger namin.
