Canada or London?

Hello sisses.. im so confused right now on which country to go to. Student visa yung kukunin ko and Godwilling this September mkaalis na dito sa pinas. My parents and aunt always says na sa canada daw kase mas cheaper daw doon kaysa London and mas mkasave daw ako. Pero gusto ko rin kase sa Europe. Mahal nga lang sa London.. Kayo po, which country would you prefer to study and earn for a living, canada or London?

I've never been to any of them so I can't give any insights, but I don't know if you know, London is a city in England and not a country?

Follow your heart.  But be ready for the consequences i think... like if you choose london be ready to scrimp if its expensive...

Which city in Canada you want to go, sis?  Lamig dun, hihi! 

Depende sa long-term plan mo, sis.  Since recently, they changed immigration rules dito sa UK, it will be a bit hard for you to get permanent residency here.  So, you'll always be on a student visa na limited ang hours to work.  My friend here who is a student, it's hard for her to save, her salary enough lang for her tuition, visa renewals tsaka everyday expenses.  But she's loving it still kasi London is a great city, very multicultural.  And you can visit lots of countries in Europe which is a really great experience, cheap flights and all.  You can see a lot of places.  Paris is just 2 hours from here by train. 

Para sa akin, if you have the resources, go for London, then workout to go to Canada after.  Maybe it's easier to get permanent settlement there.

True sobrang mahal sa London. My sister is currently studying there right now. At kailangan nya na lumipat near her school, kaya eto mega hanap kami ng malilipatan. My God ang rent para sa kakapiranggot na space aabutin ng 80gbp per week to as high as 500 and more. Nakakaloka.

work wise for student visa holders in Canada, they are also only given limited hours.
going to University can also get expensive here, but since the exchange rate (euro having a much higher exchange rate than the CAN$), it will look like studying in London is more expensive. pero sa tingin ko pareho lang, or may have just a slight different from Canada.

tama si sis remi, sis jonidona, ask yourself if ano nga ba long-term goal mo?. you just wanted to study lang ba?, or wanted na maging resident?, same tayo ng dilemma way back 2 years ago, but i weigh pros and cons din, yung friend ko invited me din kasi na sumunod sa kanya sa london, and another friend dito naman sa canada, since may malaking chance to file a residency sa canada eto yung pinili ko, iba din naman kasi yung plan ko sis, but since yung sayo na may ready ng student visa, you should go for it, then navigate latter on, for other opportunities,

Mga sis may ask ako,may friend kasi ako,andito ako sa hongkong,niyaya ako magapply,denmark daw,40k peso placement,5hrs work 6 days a week,house help siguro,not sure,salary is 30k peso din,tapos ang visa daw PR? :-( di ko alam kung totoo yun,possible ba yun?na PR visa agad ang ibibigay?diba parang ang labo..pero sabi nya kasi totoo daw? Pero since dito na ako hongkong,target place ko talaga canada,will apply na next month :-D kaso matagal pa processing,minimum of 7mos

I should add, Canada is not cheap/inexpensive. Why would your relatives say that? have they been to both countries?

Mga sis may ask ako,may friend kasi ako,andito ako sa hongkong,niyaya ako magapply,denmark daw,40k peso placement,5hrs work 6 days a week,house help siguro,not sure,salary is 30k peso din,tapos ang visa daw PR? :-( di ko alam kung totoo yun,possible ba yun?na PR visa agad ang ibibigay?diba parang ang labo..pero sabi nya kasi totoo daw? i have friends in denmark, after two yrs. of contract as an au pair, di na pwede mag extend pa, that's why most of them lipat sa norway, which is same din lang ang number of yrs na binibigay like sa denmark, di na pwede ma recontract, yan ang rules dun, even like ka pa ng employer...

^ kaya yan,,,just search ng reliable na agency, plus if naka a yr ka na dyan or 1 contract sa hk, pwede na, do it early kasi mabilis magbago ng immig rules sa canada....tumatagal na processing kasi ngayon,.... goodluck

ako, i've been to both countries... mas naenjoy ko ang culture ng uk lalo ang night life... pero mas nakaka-save ako dito ng money sa canada... plano ko bumalik ng uk pero as a tourist na lang... i'd rather live here in canada kasi maraming benefits saka immigrant ako dito eh unlike dati sa uk na student visa lang ako...
