All About Sofa

I am looking for furniture to put in my would-be condo unit and among these pieces, i am having the hardest time in choosing a sofa.   

The price disparities are very large and the quality greatly varies as well.  Please share your insights in getting a sofa and where to get them at which specific price points.

Sisses and Bros, can you post pictures of your sofas? Can you also please tell us where and how much did you buy these? thanks.

You get what you pay for, generally.

A good starting point is to determine how much you want to spend for a sofa, and the approximate size and shape, style, color.

My tactic, after I nail down the above preferred specs -- I hit the medium-priced stores or suppliers, for a thorough look-see.  Nothing like viewing, you may just come across something new to you. 

I mind the prices.  Then I go hit the high-end stores or suppliers.  I may see more of something I never saw before.   
I mind the prices more, specially the price differences vis-a-vis the medium-range versions.   
I ASK  why such and such costs a tidy sum.       They will only be too glad to go into their sales pitch.

Thanks for the tips ma'am.  unfortunately, my budget for a sofa (3 seater L-shaped is my preferred style because my would be condo is only 55 square meters) is a maximum of P50k only.  Im not sure if those sets at this price points are already good enough.

I saw a good set at SM Megamall in its furniture section.  It only costs 32k and i like the softness of the set.  Unfortunately, a lot of people say the quality of products in the SM Department Store is inferior.

I saw a good set in Mandaue Foam but they only have 5 seaters.  I only need a 3-seater L-shaped style.  Im thinking of getting a customized set in Maypajo. I was quoted only P22k to P25k (which is very cheap i must say.)  They said that this will have leather exterior, uratex foam (color blue) as the foundation foam and then micro-fiber fill foam to give softness.

Is this a good choice? I know this is a gamble because i have no idea how soft or hard the foam of finished product is, which a primary concern alongside the durability of the sofa. 

Is there anybody here who has a customized set of sofa? thanks.

For 50thou, it would be safer to "get what you see".
Try DWELL at Eastwood.  I have gotten sofa sets there and more for those condo/townhouse units I get a better rental for when furnished.

check idea sis in megamall.

if you were qouted for 22k - 25k in maypajo, ask them what kind of uratex foam will they use for your foundation foam. better if it is permahard like what is used for bed foam. then ask them also what material to use for the whole foundation; is it wood? what kind of wood? is it steel?

Thanks for the referral.  I think it's permahard.  About the wood, they just say that these are "malalaking kahoy".  I have no idea what kind of wood they will put in.  I asked them about it and that's the only response they told me (malalaking kahoy).

My fiancee actually prefer to actually see the kind of sala set will be getting.  However, we really have a hard time in looking at a good sala set given our budget of 50k.

Hi.  I had one custom made at Market Market.  What I did was I got the magazine from Bo Concept and had a manufacturer in Market Market do it.  Its made or real wood - solid mahogany. If you don't have magazine don't worry because they have pictures that they can show you.

Please go to Tabrete Furniture at market market.  I love the dining set they made for me.  The quality is very good.  There's another manufacturer there called 1908.  They have cheaper price but the quality will suffer.  I know because I ordered my sofa from them and I was so diappointed when it was delivered to our place.  Panget yung pintura and natatanggal na.  Nagalit talaga ako sa may-ari.  But what can I do kasi bayad na siya.  They repaired it pero panget pa din. We moved to our place last March and we hardly use the sofa.  Mas madalas kasi kami sa dining area. 

Btw, our dining table from tabrete is 6 seater.  Pero bench yung one side so kapag may kids sa bahay, it can accomodate up to a total of 8 people. I paid 40,000 pero may nakasama ng glass. Very good price.

Yung sofa kasi leather sya kaso nasira na nagka crack crack.. balak ko sana papalitan ng cover.

Is your table made from mahogany wood too? I'm looking for a nice dining table, the ones at Mandaue were so flimsy

I got a modular sofa from Dwell.  I am satisfied and happy with it.

True. I was not impressed with the dining set selections or the quality. Their shelving and TV consoles didn't impress me either. Will look elsewhere for those nalang....
