nasa sibulan na sis,   about 20 minutes away from the city.  jo's grotto is just across jo's chicken inato by the sea and a minute or two away from seaforest beach resort and  also near dream park.

^thanks sis, foodtrip lang pala talaga magagawa ko sa dumaguete. nag-inquire ako kahapon kay kuya vincent ng casaroro di ko keri ang 2,500 kasi ako lang mag-isa. so overnight na lang ako sa duma then uwi na ako sa cebu. don na lang ako stay ng matagal bago bumalik ng manila. next time sana may makasama na ako para ma-explore ko yong place & makapag-siquijor na rin.

@Rocky - Nag-DIY lang ako sa Casaroro nang solo.  I walked all the way to the jeepney terminal along Colon street.  The terminal is easy to miss kasi side lang siya ng road and there's no sign.  So magtanong-tanong ka lang.  Tutal Bisaya ka naman, wala nang communication gap.  (If you have the Dumaguete City map provided by the City tourism office, the exact spot is marked as a terminal, so it's important that you have one.  It brings you straight there.)

Wala akong contact when I arrived in Valencia, so kumausap lang ako ng isang naka-tambay doon.  Luckily, he has a habal-habal and he actually brings people to Casaroro. (And even to faraway Twin Lakes.)

His name is Fernando - 09994560396.  He took me to Casaroro and back to the town center for P200 lang.  I dunno if he'll quote a different rate this time.  Yun nga lang, he only took me as far as the entrance to the descent (300 steps yata yun).  And you'll essentialy have no guide when you go view Casaroro.

Since the place is very moist and cold (parang Baguio) parts of the concrete path are slippery, so make sure to walk carefully.  Bring a raincoat.  Again, like Baguio, it rains a lot in Valencia even if it's sunny in Dumaguete (which is a mere 40 mins away).

Final note, the last jeepney that leaves for Dumaguete departs at around 4 or 5, so make sure that you are conscious of time.

bro, ilang oras mo ginawa yong casaroro? ayun, nakausap ko na si kuya fernando sabi nya 200 nga daw singil nya pag mula sa valencia pero kung galing pang dumaguete 400 daw. ok na rin at least di na ko magko-commute.

One whole afternoon kong ginawa.  I left Dumaguete 11am, reached Valencia around 11:40.  Waited 1 hour for the rain to stop.  Took around 20 mins to reach the entrance via habal-habal from Valencia.  From the entrance, baba ng 300 steps, then walk along the concrete path papunta sa falls.  Mga 15 mins yun.  Then I think I stayed 45 mins sa Casaroro falls just taking pics.  Then mga 25 minutes going back to the entrance kasi - put@ng!na - mas mahirap yung 300 steps paakyat.  LOL!  Then another 20 mins ride going back to Valencia.  Spent about 1 hour in Valencia taking pics of the town and having merienda and making friends with the storeowner.  By 4pm, I took the jeep back to Dumaguete and Reached the city by 4:40.

Now, since Fernando is picking you up from Dumaguete mismo, then you might be able to shave off as much as 2 hours from the Itinerary I outlined above.  matagal din kasi yung hintayan sa terminal ng jeep.  And you can skip the whole picture taking in Valencia town center if you're really in a hurry.

^ On nga pala, merong parts ng terrain papunta sa entrance ng Casaroro na mahihirapan yung habal-habal, so Fernando might ask you to get off and walk uphill for short distances (we did this twice).  Di naman mahirap if you have the right footwear and are used to walking.

Again, bring a raincoat.  Sa ACE hardware, merong binebenta na mga poncho-type.  Mas ok yun kasi hindi limitado mobility mo.

If you can imagine Baguio being 40 mins away from Manila, then that's how near Valencia is to Dumaguete.  Nakaka-disorient yung change in weather, hehe.  (Pero ewan ko rin ha....kasi summer na ngayon.  I went there last December).

gusto din sana namin sa casaroro kaso nabasa ko 330 steps pala yon, di kaya ng powers at may isa kaming bagets na kasama e    pwede na yung maliit na falls sa siquijor na lang..hehe
