Affordable and sturdy luggages?

guys,ano ba ok na brand for luggages? i really want to buy samsonite ulit kaya lang pricey pa din lol ayoko naman yung sammies collection ko gamitin ko sa business trip

hi. you can try AMERICAN TOURISTER.  they're the same maker as samsonite.

I think with your budget of 6k, you can get two different sizes of luggage already.

Its available in The Travel Club or at any SM City.

in fairness sa HAWK GEAR brand na luggage na nabili ko na hindi ko na matandaan kung saan at bakit ito binili ko (bought this 2003 pa), til now buong buo pa din.. 7yrs na and malayo na narating nito.. maraming countries na din ang nalapagan nitong luggage ko/namin and parang swerte nga sakin ito kaya ayaw ko igive up.. pero talagang buong buo pa.. very reliable..

kahit na mahal ang samsonite mabilis ding masira. nakailang palit nako na samsonite. yun nga lang mga natry ko, 2 gulong lang. i bought delsey, 4 wheeled,natanggal din ang gulong so had to repair it. will check hawk gear

in fairness to my samsonite luggage ang tibay nya! i think magte10 years na sha sa akin and buong buo pa sha, yun nga lang, the one i have is good for 2-3 days lang, para sa kin nga minsan overnighter lang sha cuz ive never learned the concept of packing light! lol

i need a luggage that can hold at least 2weeks' worth of clothes

nagamit ko na yung giordano luggage ko, wala ako complaints. compared sa samsonite (lagi ko gamit before), okay din sya, di naman ako pinahiya kahit dami ko nilagay sa bag ko. and ang dali pa makita nung nasa conveyor kasi kakaiba ang print/color ng bag ko, hindi yung usual black. kainis kasi dati, muntik na makuha yung bag ko ng ibang mama, parepareho kasi black na samsonite nung time na yun ang luggage.

^ what we do when we travel is, we tie really huge and colorful ribbons,/distinctive ribbons to our luggages para alam namin agad na amin yun and para hindi makuha by mistake ng iba.

^hay sis, tinantanan ko na yung ribbon. dati kasi naglagay ako, nung nakuha ko bag ko parang na-rape sa gutay gutay yung ribbon, ewan ko ba. 

yung giordano ko ngayon, plaid ang print (light brown, light orange, dark brown), parang burberry. tapos yung isa pang giordano din, blue naman na stripes. o di ba, kitang kita na.

I remember meron pala din ako giordano luggage. Maliit lang and pwede as hand carry. Light blue color. Pero Hindi ko madalas gamitin kasi Wala pa laman mabigat na.

@ RHED: Regarding your voyager luggage with the lost wheel -  next time if you were not able to leave the arrival terminal yet and your luggage broke apart, you could complain with the airline.  They will replace your luggage.

Since I travel extensively with my job,  I have tried the following luggages through the years:

2003 - Black World Traveller 20kg trolley (pristine condition when I gave it away last 2008). I used it 4x a year.

2004 - Red Delsey 15kg trolley & 15 kg duffel bag (good condition when I sold it last 2005 but dumihin lang) I used them every 2months.

2005 - Mustard yellow ELLE 15kg trolley, 10kg duffel & cosmetic bag (after 1 year, the lock cracked, edges were frayed and the ELLE tag peeled off.  it was a bad investment. Porma lang talaga.) I used them 3wks straight monthly.

2007 - Gray World Traveller stripes 20kg duffel trolley & document bag ( After 2nd use, the strap spring gave up.) I used them 3wks straight monthly.

2007 - Red United Colors of Benetton 30kg, 20kg & 10kg set of trolley. (Dumihin ang color red.  After 1 flight, there was hole w/ 30kg & the UCB tag peeled off w/ 20kg).  I used them 3weeks monthly.

2008 until now - Navy Blue Samsonite 30kg & 20kg set of trolley and document bag (I bought the matching samsonite covers.  Its been two years, still in excellent condition.)  I used them 3 weeks monthly.

VERDICT: SAMSONITE.  Its a value of money and a good investment. 

TIP: Request for the FRAGILE sticker during check in with the airlines.  Otherwise they will throw your luggage around.

Luggage is expensive and an investment (for those who travel for work , therefore we should ensure its care.

since we're based in SG, I am looking for a luggage that's light.. kasi pag uuwi kami ng pinas, budget airline kinukuha namin and they have a max allowed to check in is 15kg lang.. so kung ang luggage uber bigat, sayang naman malalagay ko kung konti lang.. ayaw ko naman na sa box ilagay things ko kasi hindi mahihila..

Sis,  yes.  up to 20kg ang capacity ng trolley.  Stick with the canvas / cloth type para sure na light weight.

I suggest that if you're a budget traveller, better invest in a 15kg trolley.  This way, you will not overpack and exceed the allowed luggage allowance.

I could also share the following tips:

1.) PACKING CUBES - These are luggage organizers para if you have to open your luggage at the check in counter para bawasan ang excess, di dyahe since di kita ang underwear, clothes & etc. 

2.) LARGE FOLDABLE TOTE - You can use these for your excess stuff that you have to handcarry since excess ka na sa check in.

3.) HANDY WEIGHING SCALE - You could also buy this at national bookstore. its only Php 150 so that you could check at home if sobra na ang na-empake.
