just sharing my sentiment on school parties.. hindi pa rin natutuloy ang school birthday party namin for our daughter which was set on Aug 7. Dahil sa patuloy na ulan and baha until now wala pa rin classess sa school nila We bought chicken pops and ground beef(for the spag) twice na nga [textspeak!] i though magpapaparty na kami yesterday. Now still no advice pa from school kung may classes ba tomorrow, though i assume wala nanaman dahil kay bagyong Helen. Eto pala ang downside ng school party.. We already celebrated my daughter's birthday at home (nung kasagsagan ng habagat) but i just dont want na icancel yung plan sa school [textspeak!] napagastos na kme sa mga personalized stuffs(lootbags,kiddie apron, and cupcake kits). Hubby is saying wag na ituloy [textspeak!] more than a week has passed na kaso sayang naman all items named under each kid. Hoping for the rain to end soon.

^I so can understand your frustration. Buti na lang i didnt bother to do DIYs and cook food. Im preggy kasi so cooking and prepping DIYs for a class of 30 is too taxing for me. My daughter's school party was scheduled on July 30, the day Gener hit the country. Add to this my husband pa was admitted to the hospital early morning the day before.

Classes were cancelled in July 30. I bought the cake the day before. The pizza...I gave word already sa Pizza pedrico's when i placed my orders that I'll text them the morning of the party if it's a go or not. I was fearing a scenario like this will happen. Yung cake I'm getting from my tita's shop, the one that I'll serve the kids (different from the blowing cake), hindi pa niya na-bake. So ok lang

I texted the teacher morning of July 30 if we can schedule it on August 1. I was hoping my husband will get discharged na by the 31st. Ayokong mangarag hatiin sarili ko between fixing the hospital bills and attending the party. Eh hindi din naman pala siya na-discharge that day. I could have scheduled it ng July 30.

August 1 (Wednesday) classes again were suspended. By then, the blowing cake was sitting in my ref since Sunday night then the cake for serving was delivered the night before. I texted the teacher again if we can reschedule it for Friday, hoping my husband will get discharged latest Thursday. 

Thank God the weather last August 3 was cooperative. We were able to do the party. Her daddy was able to go as well since he was discharged from the hospital the day before. Nakakabitin Lang nga kasi sa stress na dinaanan ko, it only lasted for less than 30mins. But what's important was my daughter was very happy!

Oh for the blowing cake, I didn't have one customized cause I was anticipating a scenario like this. I bought a generic chocolate cake from Mary Grace and bought a small hello kitty toy and some candies and decorations from Chocolate Lovers. If Hindi Lang sana ako nag panic the day before the original schedule, Hindi ko na sana binili muna. Overall maganda din naman kinalabasan nung cake based on the oohs and aahs of her classmates (or Baka easy to please Lang sila)

^^Aw sis, I can relate to that. I remember last year, because of bad weather, na-cancel ang classes, ganun din, we were all set to have my son's 6th birthday party in school.

Hindi ko na ma-cancel ang food order sa Jollibee. Ang ginawa na lang namin, hinatid sa mga bahay nila yung packed food and loot bags (at least to those na alam namin ang addresses), and since nasa school yung teachers/janitors, dinala na lang namin sa kanila. The next day, loot bag na lang ang nabigay namin sa ibang classmates, nagtatanong tuloy yung mga bata kung may food bang kasama LOL

This October, sa McDo kami since 7th bday na ng son ko.

@hunny_ally - looks like your situation was much more stressful pa pala. ako naman i did not really anticipate that a storm will come up on her bday. last year kasi mejo hindi naman ata maulan yung panahon and 1st quarter of this year was extremely hot kaya i never though magsusunod sunod ang bagyo by august. 

@billy -can't imagine doing what you did. di ata pwede sa situation namin yung mag house to house kasi night of aug 6 pa lang baha na in most areas of the metro esp in pasig where most of my daughter's classmates reside.

anywho, finally kanina natapos na rin ang nabinbin na surprise party for our eldest! simple lang pero happy kasi naging successful pa rin in the end. mega bake and cook pa talaga ko kagabi and early morning after receiving text that classess will resume na the next day

Im going to have my daughters simple 5th bday party in school tomorrow, saturday coz they have makeup class.

Kids Food - no food.  Just cupcakes from sophies mom, with customized color frostings on top and with label thank you stickers from iprints. And zest-o juice
Cake - winx club stella themed cake by frupcakes
Food for teachers and staff - home made pansit by my mom.
Lootbag - loot envelopes, winx for girl and cars/ben10 for boys. The envelopes includes art items like colors, pencil, coloring books, etc....

Lahat ng classmates ng anak ko, sa school nag ce celebrate so sure na talaga na sa school party siya. LOL

Sa december pa naman birthday ng anak ko pero I'm thinking of a Lego themed school party, and  serving the usual chicken fingers + spaghetti. Then instead of cupcakes, this time brownies naman bake ko. For the giveaway food na lang din like what I did last year, yung kettle corn popcorn, which I found the kids to really like last year. For the drinks, its chilled buko juice that you buy at the mall. Ok lang kaya ang buko juice instead of the tetrapacked flavored juices?

we decided to throw a birthday party for my baby. It's kinda rush since original plan was no party since the date will fall down on weekend plus we'll celebrate her bday out of country, no time to prep since she'll be absent a day of two. Kaya lang I felt bad when I saw her face when someone celebrated a party at their school, she wanted a princess party daw. I want to serve pizza din sana since my baby loves pizza as well, if not pedricos yung malaking pizza sana along with this is chix pops/nuggets and cupcakes I think? for giveaways, pillows from shop til u drop kaya lang parang hindi na kame aabot sa leadtime ang hirap din pala ng biglaan. Suggestions naman po mommies yung madaling prepare TIA

my eldest is turning 5 on Feb., ngayon pa lang pinaplano nya na school party nya. little mermaid daw ang theme and bubbles daw ang ipamimigay nyang souvenir, o di ba di sya excited?  limited lang ang oras kaya naisip ko na instead of bringing a cake, cupcake tower na lang tas maybe a giant cupcake on top or a mini cake for blowing. at least di ko na kailangang maghati ng cake at magdala ng eating utensils for the kids. food, undecided pa, matagal pa naman. thanks sa mga mommies na nagshashare ng tips and experiences dito

I'm so excited din sa 3rd birthday ng daughter ko. Since pumapasok na cia sa school, school party na din gagawin namin thanks mga sis kasi dami ko idea na nakuha. We're planning to have kfc snack box if still available during that time kasi feb 10, 2013 pa., and if not baka mag mcdo chicken nuggets and fries na lang, plus dutchmilk. 30 minutes lang kasi allotted time and hinde naman kasi nila nauubos yung spaghetti based sa mga nag birthday na nauna. After that DIY naman na cupcake by goldilocks. I'm still contemplating between mickey mouse clubhouse and angelina ballerina. For the giveaway naman baka mini stool or personalized bag ( lunch bag or string bag ).

^sis quisha, yung sa jollibee food kinuha mo sa party package nila? Daughter ko kasi gusto jollibee party sa school at isama daw mascot. Canvass ako ngayon kasi sa december na party. ^Hindi ako kumuha ng party package from Jollibee... Bulk orders lang ako.. spaghetti lang kinuha ko for the kids, then nag add ako ng juice... For teachers, I got chicken with spaghetti..

Yung cake ang cupcakes, ako lang nag arrange nun.. nagprint lang ako ng cupcake topper... then bumili ng styro for the cake stand...
P20 each yung mini cupcakes... P2,200 naman for 2 layer cake..

My daughter also celebrated her 5th birtday party in school. We just got the jollibee take out party package (with mascot) then ordered a cake from kitchen krafts. Very convenient kasi prepared na lahat then we just paid addt'l P500 para maka stay si jollibee ng mas matagal and join the games.

^sis purple29, the Jollibee take out party package is the same as for the kids party held in their stores? same packages? no additional fee? my daughter would love to bring jollibee mascot in school. TIA!

^ yes sis. But in our case we created our own menu basta umabot lang dun sa minimum na 4k sa food then 1.7k yata for the party fee which is already inclusive of party hosts, Game prizes, mascot appearance and balloons.  Btw, not all branches allow take out party packages. Good thing lang when i asked permission from the school the school admin told me that hindi daw 'to available sa nearest branch near the school and she recommended another branch which is also near the school and always caters everytime may jollibee party sa kanila.
