I've only had both Intellicare and Maxicare so i can only comment on those 2.
Between them, i like Maxicare better in terms of customer care and over all inclusions sa package.

Planning to get either HMO or Health Insurance from Sunlife/Philam, etc. Still doing my research.

For Health Insurance, I will get the critical illness plan and for HMO the most basic plan lang for consultations and lab test lang sana. I'm based overseas and pag umuuwi kasi ako parati ako nagpapacheck up din.

Premiums are too high for such small coverage, and if you do end up using it, chances are your premiums next year will dramatically increase. The risk for individual accounts like ours is not spread out like in group accounts.

There are inexpensive annually renewable HMOs (like Medicard), but personally, I find the 50-60k coverage they offer to be low. Yung ibabayad ko sa kanila na 20-30k/year for my family, ipunin ko lang for 2 years, yun na din yung coverage.

Good thing may HMO sa office at may free HMO for 1 dependent.

Pati rooms mo limited rin, if you like to be upgraded sa room babayaran mo yung incremental charges.

Hassle.

What I did 3 years ago, ayun super ipon ng emergency fund para di kami vulnerable in case may ma hospitalized. Ang exit plan ko naman noon in case may magkasakit sa amin during the time that I am building my emergency fund is to use my credit cards to pay hospital bills ( of course dun ko sila dadalhin sa nag aacept ng ccc ) and to transfer balance to my other card para konti lang magagalaw sa emergency fund ko. Kung magkaroon ng panibagong aberya, I still have some funds for it.

Bottom line, I don't believe in HMO if I will shoulder the premium myself.

I have Medicard ngayon kasi from company naman.

okay nga daw medicard. sana yan yung kunin ng company namin this year.

So far pink best malaga manicure, even my mom na breast cancer survivor wala naming problem with them worth every penny. yung MEDICARD rin daw ok di ba? sana malaga yun kunin ng office

I browsed through the thread and read about Philcare's IPER offer. Sadly, wala na raw ganun ngayon sa Philcare when I inquired yesterday. They are offering yung HealthVantage cards nila instead.

Here's their link for those who are interested.

Intellicare is nice but higher package kasi ito.

I have decided na to get na lang a medicare card as opposed to philcare.

I just inquired with Blue Cross for health insurance for my husband. 37 years old, non smoker, no pre existing illnesses. Lumalabas 25K a year. 1.5M coverage. Whoa. I thought it would only be less than 10K or so. That's yearly annual premium. So if I want him covered for at least another 30 years, we would be paying 750K. That's an angioplasty right there lol (although maybe in 30 years, who knows how much an angioplasty would be).  Does that sound like a good deal, or maybe I should just continue investing in our investment vehicles and use what we would earn there to pay for whatever health needs in the future?

^Malaki kasi yung coverage. And ang 56-60 yrs old eh 23,000 lang.

Does anyone know an agent for Blue Cross? Pahingi po contact details :) I want to inquire about health card for my senior citizen parents eh.  Thanks in advance! :)

Aside from Blue Cross, ano pa ba health card na pwede for senior citizens? Malaking tulong talaga siya eh.

I had Medicard with the company I used to work for in 2007-2008. I was allowed to list two dependents. Then my youngest brother had to undergo a spine surgery. Luckily, I listed him as a dependent (and either my mom or dad as the other one).

We spent a lot on that, but thankfully, Medicard handled P330,000.00 of the cost. I was able to maximize the limit.

Hello. I have my Intellicare right now from my current company. Unfortunately, hindi covered or walang coverage for maternal delivery. Prenatal and post natal na 14 visits lang covered per year. Im looking for an HMO na magcocover ng maternal delivery and i want to know the eligibility na rin kasi im currently on my 30th week na. Thanks!
