@skylar, sorry sis now lang ako bumalik dito. Yes, d kasali ang slmc global sa maxicare sa family/individual acct. Next year plano ko e wag ng magrenew kasi ngayon may sakit kami nagbayad pa rin ako ng consultation kasi preferred doctor e d maxicare accredited.

Oks healthcard pag maconfine etc d na iisipin bayad d naman natin wini-wish yan.

Sa akin, oks if kasali sa benepisyo sa kumpanya.

^^ok lang sis stormy. Hindi ko na tinuloy yung maxicare ko kahit na na-approve na kame.  Like ngayon kase nkaconfine nga ako sa st.lukes global city pero for maternity so baka di din iapprove kase hindi covered ang pregnancy.  Butas pa din bulsa ko kasehigh risk ako eh.

im planning to enroll my daughter for a Health Card this 2012 . My company's health card is Maxicare but the package is not as good as before..in short hindi siya sulit esp for my daughter who's only 5 mos old..so I'm still looking around kung ano yung pinaka ok na package in terms of Health Insurance. I'll try to backread again para makapag compare hehe..any suggestions po? Thanks!

I checked Valucare's website and saw their regular quote for Family Package. I hope may promo sila para may discount or dagdag coverage. Concern ko lang ay kung sakaling maconfine ako sa St. Luke's, ano ang exclusions or if magagamit ko ba. Unfortunately, wala pang review or feedback online about Valucare. Any input mga sis?

^ per head ang bayad sis.  tapos may hierarchy pa yan.  kung ikaw ang principal member, kelangan si husband muna i enroll mo as dependent bago si baby.

i was able to use medicard,maganda cya pati maxicare at cocolife.pero mas na-utilize ko yung cocolife kasi my mom was able to use it sa st.luke's when she had total hysterectomy.lahat ng card na nagamit ko provided by company.tingin tingin lang kayo ng mas maraming ino-offer para mas sulit pera nyo if ever.

Caritas Healthcard for my family. 5 years to pay lang ito then the coverage is upto 10 years. Pag nagka extra fund, bili nalang uli ng bagong plan. Ang maganda sa kanila, they have their own clinics & madami rin naman sila accredited ng clinic & hospital. My mom had her operation nung 2008 sa UST Hosp. Ok naman sya hanggang ngayon.  Free yung operation ang binili nalang namin ay yung mga medicines na need nya inumin habang nagpapagaling sa house.

As ive always said in other forums, dont get CARITAS if ayaw nyo sumakit ang ulo nyo. they will use every loopholes available for them not to spend. Parang mas lalo kayo magkakasakit if nalaman nyo na di na pala shoulder ng hmo nyo ang hospitalization. Like what happened to us, nasa policy daw nila so di daw shoulder ng caritas ang hospitalization ng  mother ko and we asked for the policy, paiba-iba ang reason. merong nasa head office daw...accdg naman sa head office confidential daw ang policy...wwwhhhat?! did I hear that right? confidential ang policy?

hello mga sis...anong plan kaya suitable for me I am separated and on-going ang annulment process, I have one kid who is 10 year old..my parents passed away already..baka kasi kung kukuha ako ng plan for family na type ng insurance eh baka makabenepisyo pa ex-husband ko...or hintayin ko nalang matapos annulment bago kumuha health card?thanks sa mga sasagot...

maxicare ang HMO namin ni hubby, family account, silver plan. silver muna kinuha ko kasi para medyo mura at marami pang di covered for the first two years. after two years, plan ko mag-upgrade ng plan.

pero nagtaas na sila ngayon, almost 2.5k/head ang dagdag. dati 19+k lang binayad ko for annual premium, ngayon 24+k na ang bill namin. nagdadalawang isip tuloy ako kung itutuloy ko pa kasi baka yearly magtaas sila. kaya lang need ko kasi magpagamot sa thyroid. iniisip ko kung ako na lang ang kukuha at di na si hubby.

ok naman ang maxicare, pero be aware that certain hospitals do not accept HMO pag individual or family account. so kung may preferred kayong hospital, tanungin nyo muna if nag-aaccept sila ng individual and family account.

nung buntis ako, di ko siya ginamit kasi nga walang maternity benefits. pero nung nalaman ng OB ko na may maxicare ako, sabi niya sana daw ginamit ko sa consultation kasi pumapayag naman daw ang maxicare kahit prenatal checkup, di lang pwede sa mga labs at confinement.

@joris - Better get a health card na - you'd never know when you'll need it. Baka matagal-tagal pa yang annulment na yan (not sure though).

As for your soon to be ex-husband, I think you can omit him as your beneficiary so he doesn't get those benefits. You can further inquire about that to your preferred health insurance or HMO provider. AFAIK, you need to explicitly declare your beneficiaries in any HMOs and insurances.
