I went to SG alone and didn't present a hotel voucher (staying with friends kasi). Just a return ticket, but they didn't ask for it naman. I was wearing jean shorts and a t-shirt and all I was carrying was a mountaineer's backpack. Di naman ako nagkaproblema sa IO.

Dami daw hinahanp sa kanila ng IO .. RT tix, Hotel Voucher, Company ID's .. pareho kasi silang babae .. dami daw tanong .. then yun friend ko sinabi nya daw na Manager sya ng company dito .. Ayun biglang natapos daw yun kaekekan ng IO .. First time rin lang kasi nila abroad e .. Grabe ang IO kapwa pinoy pinapahirapan .. hayz!

although nakakainis din yun paghigpit ng IO, we can't blame them kasi nga sa reputation ng mga pinoy. and being "kapwa pinoy" isn't also an excuse para hindi sila maging mahigpit. pinoys have the tendency to think na just because pareho both sila pinoy, kailangan may special treatment or something

one time pinagdudahan yung aking,then Permanent Resident visa. pina uuwi ako. ayusin ko daw. sabi ko excuse me, ayos na ayos ang papers ako. and i told him that na, na question na eto nung, branch ng gov't na kung saan ka kailangan mag seminar before leaving the country. and the embassy said everything was in order and that they should check their computer. AYUN PALA. hindi daw macheck ng computer kasi super luma daw ng mga computer natin sa NAIA. so sabi ko, ano na gagawin, hindi ako makakaalis dahil sa computer lang? eh kasi daw daw gagastos sila sa fines etc pag nagkamali daw sila ng decision. F! my papers are in order. kapalan na ng mukha. sabi ko, bakit mga syndicato etc, nakakalusot, tapos kung sino yung tama ang papeles, dun sila nakatutok. hindi na sila naka imik. then we agreed that there's no choice but to call a liason officer pa. sabi ko magdedemanda ako if i miss my flight.

in the next few years i've travelle for so many times, between country X and Pinas. and yung "self righteous" officer na yun eh hindi makatingin whenever i see him.

Hindi ko na rin pinatronize yung airline na yun. nagkampihan pa sila. in one of my trips, maybe due to NAIA's re-organization efforts, magkatabi yung airline na yun and the current airline that i patronize. the same employees were there. then someone out of the blue asked me. anong airline pa ba pwede to go to country x. then she mentioned THAT airline. kaya nagparinig ako. NEVER will i use that airline again.

just to add, when i got my citizenship and passport, i used that airline one last time. (previously bought one way ticket) when they saw my passport. --they paused for a while. ts tsk

kaya, nako, those NAIA personnel and friends....wala..wala na ako masabi pa.

yes, i know .. but my point is karamihan sa mga IO super strict sa pinoy .. Yung alam nila na kaya nilang mauto .. Hindi sa nilalahat ko ha .. kasi i worked sa travel agency then dami reklamo ng mga naging client namin most of IO daw is gusto lang ng under the table .. May client ako na teenager US passport holder e over stay sya dito sa pinas .. sa airport immigration siningil daw sya ng 50k .. bumalik sya sa amin then inadvise namin sya na dumiretso sa mismong office at ang binyaran lang nya 27k .. at sabi bawal daw magbayad sa airport .. un pala nagpapalagay na lang para palampasin sya .. dami namin mga kwento nalaman against airport immigration .. kaya ko nasabi na kapwa pinoy pineperahan at pinapahirapan ..

OT... pinoy naman sa US to, i paid for excess baggage... pero yung pinangbayad ko puro $1 coins kasi yun yung sinukli sa akin nung nag rent ako ng cart sa bungad ng airport... yung kasama ng pinoy na kana... natatawa sa coins ko... mega smile naman ako... pero the pinoy... super ingos... mega smile lang din ako sa kanya... yoko na patulan... hahaha... sorry sa OT

sakin din when we traveled abroad, i dont mind kahit pinoy naman ang IO matapatan.. as long as wala naman sya mahahanap na butas sa papers ko, theres nothing to worry about.. though pag pinoy nga kasi IO di maiiwasan alam nila likaw ng kapwa pinoys so we cant really blame them.. , ok lang marami hanapin na neccesary docs as long as meron relevance sa pag travel and in rightfull manner ,pero kung mambabastos sila ng kapwa pinoy or kahit ibang lahi for me thats unacceptable..

^like anong docs sis? I'm planning to go to SG and Malaysia this July..ALONE. Nakakatakot, baka pagkamalan akong drug mule or prosti. Sa SG, I'll be either staying in a hotel or at my friend's place. And in Malaysia, probably at my cousin's. So what should I secure prior to my trip? Thanks a lot!

^what's your age? I think depends din sa age. for example, if senior citizen ka, they won't mind you. if you're staying sa hotel, present hotel voucher. if you're staying at your friend's house, better if you have invitation letter from that person. and documents niya. and ipa-authenticate mo sa Phil Embassy sa Singapore. Yes, it's true. Minsan hinihingi yan ng mga IO. (if they think na you fall under the "suspicious" category).

Re: pagkastrict ng pinoy IO, 1 reason din kaya strict sila is because alam ng pinoy IO ang mga kalokohan ng mga pinoy. sanay na sila. kaya you can't blame them din.

pero yun mga pinoy IO na humihingi ng mga lagay tapos nagprepretend na meron problem sa papers mo tapos lolokohin ka pa, super kainis! kakainis talaga! yun isang friend ng tita ko, chinese kasi. E siguro akala ng pinoy IO maloloko niya kasi chinese (no offense, pero most of the chinese here, as in from mainland china, doesn't know the laws here in the Phil, mahilig sila sa mga lagay lagay para lang mapabilis mga process). Sabi sa friend ng tita ko, may problem daw sa I-Card niya, which she was sure has no problem kasi permanent resident siya dito and she pays the yearly fee. Tinakot pa yun friend ng tita ko na hindi siya makakaalis until she paid the necessary fees. Nagmatigas yun friend ng tita ko, ayaw talaga niya. I don't know the rest of the story na, but definitely walang binayad na extra yun friend ng tita ko.

After that incident, nagpapost siya ng article sa chinese newspaper, telling all the chinese to be careful. nakuha kasi niya yun name ng IO na yun and yun description.

Ang kinaiinisan ko din, kung magiging strict sila, maging strict sila sa lahat. Wag lang sa mga "chosen ones". Kasi based on my experience, may ako kasama na may kakilala sa isang naka-duty doon na immigration officer, kaya mabilis lang yun pag interview sa akin. I'm thankful for that. But naisip ko yun ibang innocent, kawawa naman sila.

Never naman ako nasita. Kase working ako sa government eh pag nalaman nila malamang
marami hingin sakin na travel documents. =/ Although freelance writer din kase ako pero ayoko lang
ideclare na sa Senate ako work kase baka pahirapan din ako, tingin niyo? ano ba mga travel documents
na kelangan ipakita pag government employee?

@huit-first thing the immigration authorities will look for if you're a legit gov't employee is you travel authority. W/o it, definitely di ka papayagan to get out of the country. May ilang pax ako na na-offload ng immig because of the lack of this document.

@jellibean-Unfortunately, there is no direct flight from Manila to Morocco.
