Davao - Pearl Farm

Ah, di kasi kami Pearl Farm nanggaling. Dumaan kami sa parang market place sa Samal Island on the way to Maima, kaya may nakausap kami.

^you can get adjoining Mandaya houses or their 2 storey Samal Suites. If budget is not an issue rent one of their Malipano villas at Malipano island just across the resort.

^ okay sana itong 2-storey Samal house for groups/family. 6 kasi kami and okay sana kung isang place lang kami para mas matagal ang bonding time. kaso wala sya sa agoda. so mukhang direct sa pearl farm lang ito?  baka mapapamahal pa lalo.

sis, so kayang makarating sa backdoor ng PF ang multicab? kailangan kasi talaga namin ng multicab sana for the samal tour kasi 3 of 6 sa amin, nagka-injury sa paa last year at takot pa kaming sumakay sa habal-habal.  anyway, how much ang charge ng multicab sa inyo from maxima to pf? thanks.

^may promo ang PF sa site, check mo na lang. pwede din na samal houses pero yung adjoining rooms.

^ sis, na-check ko na yung promos nila sa site. packages sya actually. mas mahal sa site nila kesa sa agoda. tsaka yung karamihan ng package rates sa site ng PF mismo, per person per night.

@Kikay Iska, yes, kayang multicab hanggang sa backdoor ng Pearl Farm. Yung picture namin sa blog, nasa loob na kami ng Pearl Farm nyan, susunduin na lang ng golf cart kasi di na pwedeng pumasok further yung muulticab.

^sis question, nagpabooked kayo via agoda db? 3 pax per room kayo. kasama na ba ang breakfast, airport and boat transfer ng extra person sa binayaran ninyo sa agoda?

^hi sis! nag add kami sa transfer ng airport. Php250/person/way yata yun (call Pearl Farm to confirm). But makakamura if you just take a cab kasi malapit lang naman sa airport yung port. For sure less than Php 250 ang taxi fare nyo. Pero ang breakfast and boat transfer, kasama na dun sa Agoda.

Although kami, we availed of their airport service for convenience na lang. 6 kasi kami so may 2 extra pax kami, so plus Php500/way yun. Expensive pero marami kasi kaming bitbit and younger siblings ko ang kasama.

Currently here in PF, taking advantage of the free wifi by the infiniy pool/Maranao Resto...
It's scorching hot here in Davao, since friday.

PF's Parola is under construction but the bar is still open. Maybe they're preparing for the Kadayawan weekend. some Samal houses are under renovation too. Service at the resort is still very satisfactory. The food at the resto, on the other hand, was better 5 yrs ago... But it's still good. Overall, i still like it here, a lot!

^inggit ako sa inyo sis, we were there Tuesday night til Wednesday...when we were there, nagsstart na nga construction sa lower part ng Parola. i miss Maranao's ebi tempura - the best and freshest tempura I've ever had

share ko lang - we checked in sa Samal House 3 nila but we only got to stay there until after dinner, kasi the airconditioning unit broke down. nagtturn off mag-isa, problem with the compressor daw. buti na lang Samal 1 wasn't occupied so dun kami nilipat; it's a bit smaller than Samal 3 but okay pa din naman yung amenities. and impressive din how quickly the staff had us transferred, worried pa naman ako na baka sa ibang room type kami malipat...

I noticed nga, some amenities inside the room need improvement na... They reall need to renovate and change some stuff in the room na. Will be back by Kadayawan weekend. Sana better na by then.

Sis, may in-offer ba silang pambawi sa room na di nyo na-stay-an ng ilang oras? After dinner is too late, given na 2pm ang check-in. Kung ako yan, hindi pwede kasi senior citizen ang parents kong kasama ngayon. They would need to rest agad. Buti na lang, that didnt happen to us.

^we were given a fruit platter sis...okay lang naman because what happened was, we noticed that the aircon unit wasn't working when we got back from dinner. we called the front office immediately, and within 5 minutes may maintenance staff nang dumating. AC was fixed, and we enjoyed the room for another 10 minutes before nag-turn off ulit magisa. maintenance arrived in less than 5 minutes ulit, we asked him what will happen, kung ittransfer ba kami - he told us most likely ganun nga. after about a minute lang, tumawag na ang front office to apologize and inform us that we will be transferred to Samal 1, and magpapadala ng staff to help us with our things. so after that call, in less than 10 minutes nakalipat na ulit kami ng Samal house good thing nga lang talaga that there was a samal house na available, kasi what would've happened if they were fully-booked and the AC unit broke down di ba? e ang init pa naman, di pwedeng walang AC...

i agree, their rooms need minor improvements/renovations, medyo hindi na kasi updated yung room/toilet&bath facilities. one improvement will be to add a bidet to the toilet area

Kami naman stayed in Samal House 6 noong Aug 1.  Good service talaga PF staff, from the airport, the wharf, the front desk, shuttle, restaurant, housekeeping, etc.  They're very nice, magalang and always helpful with a smile.  We only had the buffet breakfast included in our overnight stay, the other meals were ala carte na, also had some drinks at the Parola Bar during the happy hour. It's good they're renovating parts of the resort already.
We went to Malipano but we were not allowed to see the villas at the other side of the island, they say fully booked daw kasi.  Picture2 lang sana, sayang din.

mga sis question lang po, will be going there on september 19. pwede ba walk in dito or kelangan pa mag pareserve by calling the PF's manila office...thanks

^naku sis malabo mag-walk in, because you have to be on a scheduled boat/ferry transfer to the resort upon check in. Pearl Farm is on a separate island (Samal Island) from Davao City e, so hindi feasible ang walk-in...only confirmed guests can ride on the scheduled ferry transfers to and from PF. you can call their Manila office, or book online (either through their own website, or through Agoda, which has much better rates).

ilagay nyo lang sa pinakailalim at kung maibabalot nyo sa clothes para di makita kasi di naman nila ilalabas isa-isa yung mga laman ng bag.

^ agree dapat sa ilalim or basta matakpan lang ng mga ibang gamit keri na.. Nung kami kase ni hubby mali e, nasa ibabaw lang ang baon namin, hehe..pagbukas kita na nila agad.. E di ko pa alam that time na bawal pala and na don pa lang sa wharf chinicheck na. Kakainin ko sana yon while nasa boat e.. Hehe

Last weekend, pinayagan ang Mama kong ipasok ang baon nyang bread, pero patago
Nakita ng inspector ng bags pero sabi nya, sa loob ng room na lang daw kainin.  Wala naman kaming balak magpuslit ng food. Nagkataon lang na meron pang food si Mama. She always has to carry biscuit/bread bec of her health condition kasi.
