^Hi!  Were you the one near the door?  I was the one by Viel's left side.

Ang galing mo naman, super fit talaga! :)

^ Hmm, I was the one in the corner, between the mirrors for the barre exercises; I moved near the door for the mat ones. I was the really noisy one! Sorry! I learned from my boxing classes that grunting and breathing hard really helps you catch your breath while executing the movements...you should try it if you need a breather. :)

Breathing like that, is helpful with running too.

Anyway, I found a dvd of The Bar Method.  For those who've tried it in a studio, adviseable ba to do it on my own?

Dun sa video, parang kaya.

^ Kaya naman, but IMO, it'd help you out better if you do a few studio classes with an instructor so she can correct your posture and poses. I was also doing some home exercise videos, but it turned out I was doing some moves incorrectly, so I kinda developed those bad habits that I had to correct when the instructor pointed it out. When you know the proper stances already, you can continue on your own at home. :)

^ Since I've gotten to recuperate after doing Barre3 for 6 out of 7 days...I gained biceps that look like pandesal. Haha! Not even boxing got me results this quickly. I'm small-framed, so I like this. In fact, I'm going to bite on that 10% discount that happy_pomelo mentioned earlier, since I have a wedding and a beach trip to attend this month. :)

Yup. Bar, Barre, Dailey, Core Fusion, Physique 57 were derived from the Lotte Berk principle.  Some of Tracy Anderson's movements are just revised Lotte Berk method. I personally prefer Dailey kaso it's not offered here.

hehe, I replicated the barre movements at home, including the instructor's techniques. I was cheating all the time (pwede na 10 reps, wala naman nakatingin  ;D). Kung me disciplina naman or talagang busy, pwede na dvd as long as proper form and posture are demonstrated, pero advisable talagang mag-enroll.

^ Yup! If you need toning, this is perfect.

It's first come, first served, so go early na lang. Not so sure about Fort, but they're probably full weekend mornings.

I sprained my ankle recently, so I can't exercise for a week or so. Boo. :( But Barre3 is actually ideal for me to resume, as opposed to my usual high-impact sports.

I tried Barre3 for the 1st time last week at the fort, hmm..I say its a bit too "lets get physical", teehee, if you know what I mean.  Too much pulsing, and it involves too many props(dumbells, ball, bar etc etc.).  Perhaps, I'm just so used to yoga that's why I find the fast music awkward.

Infairness, it really builds strength as you have to pulse your standing push ups for about a minute, lift those dumbells for about 5 minutes, squeeze that ball with your legs for another 5 minutes, etc etc., not too much on flexibility though.  Not for me unfortunately.  ;)  But its worth the try!

I forgot to mention, if you are not used to cold weather I suggest you wear a jacket on top of your yoga/barre3 wear as the AC is on while you are sweating, I got a fever after my 1st class as I was sweating through the entire class but it just keeps flushing down because of the cold.  Tsk tsk tsk!

@ Carla: You're right, the movements are based more on pilates, so there's plenty of pulsing, in comparison to yoga.

Not every class is like that though. Certain instructors incorporate a bit more yoga than the others. I personally find the yoga-leaning classes a bit boring, but that's just me. All my previous workouts were the active types, so I'm more used to that. :)

Speaking of flexibility, I've been able to reach to my toes a lot more easily now, since I started Barre3. Previously, it'd be a struggle for me, not to mention painful.

Excited na ko mag barre ulit! I recently bought a coupon from deal grocer.
I'm now 40 lbs lighter since I first tried barre so sana magawa ko na lahat ng positions!
