^Sis tell your brother to ask their tourguide where is this not safe spot along the cove so they can avoid it. And may part na mababaw kahit nakalayo ka na sa shoreline, I think this is where you can just suddenly not feel your feet on the ground that can cause panic... 

And about sa bayad, parang pricey...  Kasi ang bayad sa bus wala pa atang P250, plus tricy to Pundaquit...the boat naman yata is range ng 2k-3k per boat...hmmm, Di ko sure ha...hehe kasi kami ni officemate dalawa lang kami and boat namin 1200... Ay oo nga pala, remind your brother to wear the lifevest, I insist... kasi di ba kung minsan feeling mo di mo kelangan yun

^sinabi ko nga, sis. he asked if may vests. sabi ko provided na sa boat. at least aware sila. 6 sila na aalis. hindi naman mahilig sa island hopping yun. di nga siya natuwa sa sea tour in bohol pero gusto kasi ng friend niyang balikbayan so sasama siya.

hi! new to this forum. silent reader lang kasi ako but after reading your post, i felt inclined to post too.

i was also in anawangin last sunday with my friends. actually we were already in pundaquit saturday pa lang but since masyadong maalon, we opted to do the island hopping ng sunday.

and yes, its true, someone died in anawangin that day. when we arrived at the island, around 7:30-8AM na siguro yun, they were already looking for the body. the caretaker said na nagovernight daw yun group sa island and took an early swim sa beach the next day. reportedly, napulikat and natangay yata yun guy ng alon and hindi na siya kinayang sagipin ng mga kasama niya. biglang lalim daw kasi dun sa part na pinag-swimming-an nung group(right-side of the island when you're facing the ocean). kaya kami ng mga kasama ko, todo ingat talaga, di na namin hinubad yun lifevest when we took a swim and di rin masyado nagbabad. masyado kasi malakas ang undercurrent sa anawangin, akala mo sobrang babaw lang, pero madali kang matatangay sa malalim na part pag di ka nag-ingat. mas nag-stay pa nga kami sa river sa likod, at least dun safe ka n mababaw lang

Nangingilabot ako while reading the thread.

My sister was there Saturday noon till Sunday noon. Ang kwento nya, there were three groups. Yung group na may namatay naka position sila sa may mga punong side. I haven't been there so I'm just relying sa kwento nya. And yes walang signal dun, Super worried kami kasi the last text from my sis was pasakay na sila ng bangka. Good thing at may life vest sila.

Anyway, back sa kwento, super maingay daw ang group na iyon na may namatayan till the wee hours. Mga lasing pa daw. In the morning 5 silang nag swim sa medyo malayo, ang sis ko malapit lang sa shore. Maya maya around 8 am may humihingi na ng saklolo. Out of 5, 3 yung na save, naiwan yung 1 guy and 1 girl. Yung boyfriend nung girl bumalik kahit nasagip na sya. Magaling daw kasing magswimming yung guy na yun. Nasagip nya yung girlfriend nya pero di na sya nakabalik sa shore. Sya yung namatay dun. Yung isang guy na nalulunod nasagip sya. They tried na makuha yung body para iCPR ng sister ko kaso lumubog na daw. Hangang sa umuwi narin sila ng noon time. She was traumatized sa nangyari. Di nga nya makwento sa mom ko kasi talagang di na sya papayagan mag out of town ulit.

and the bad part here is no precaution signs around... yes tourists have to be carefull when going to places they were not familiar but i think the locals, owners and caretakers must honestly inform visitors kung saan at ano dapat ang iwasan. this is not the first time kasi may mga nabasa na ako sa net.

oh well, we just have to be extra carefull to enjoy the beauty of Anawangin...

sis ako natrauma talaga, up to now i experience sleepless nights. di ko makalimutan yung itsura nung tao... andito pa rin kasi kami sA Pundaquit kaya siguro di pa ako maka get over.

pero i don't intend to go back there, ang laki ng mga alon...hayyy di ko kaya...

nakakalungkot naman ang nangyari dun sa tropa. baka po kase sobrang magulo sila.naingayan si mother nature, kaya yun, nagbuwis tuloy sila.

Hi mga sis,

Just been to Anawangin last Sunday. And I feel so obliged to share my part of the story. actually the trip was not planned kasi I'm here for a fieldwork but since we have no decent place to stay na malapit sa field area, we opted to stay sa Pundaquit. And since sabi nila andun na kami sayang naman daw kung hindi pa namin puntahan. So naexcite kami ni officemate and there we went.

I have little ability to understand Ilocano. On our way to the boat (kasi nasa kabilang side yung resort namin to boat riding station), a man talked to our bangkero in Ilocano. I didn't totally understood what the man said but I kind a heard something about a missing person in Anawangin at hindi pa nahahanap. So I asked our bangkero what was the other man said. Manong bangkero replied 'marami daw po tao sa Anawangin". So I thought I just misunderstood their quick conversation. We proceeded to Camara and Capones. enjoyed the scenery (boat ride is not so enjoyable, laki ng mga alon and kuya bangkero said that its normal...  ) When we are approaching Anawangin, nakasalubong namin isang bangka na medyo malaki sa bangka namin na may hilang maliit na bangka at may nakahiga (I saw his face, pikit mata  ) My curiosity worked and asked kuya what was that. Kuya answered "nakatulog lang po ma'am". But I got this feeling na uwing uwi na and I've never been so afraid in a boat ride in my entire life! I tied my vest so hard and kept my hands on the boat. Malapit na to sa Anawangin ha, as in malapit na, maybe 100m away from shore na lang nung makasalubong namin yung bangka na malaki.  Not so sure about may feelings but I opted to sit down for a while, and due to my persistent officemate we took a bath in the river. mababaw lang so okey ako pero things are really running in my mind. I was not so convinced kay kuya. We haven't talk to any guests  sa Anawangin so I was not able to confirm. At hindi talaga ako naligo sa dagat!  At 3:30pm we headed back to Pundaquit. Waves are really high and careless boatman just keeps the pace of the boat (in my experience sa other boat rides tumitigil sila pag may big wave, itong boat ride na to hindi!  ) Our boat literally flies then drops on the water again. I kept on praying sa boat. I nearly cried I said Lord please bring me home safe.  We reached the shore safely, Thank God! I was not able to sleep that night. In the morning I asked our driver if there were incidents in the past of drowned people in Anawangin. He said NONE! Some mountaineers died daw pero dahil nasama sila sa agos ng river sa taas at hindi nalunod. None of his 20+ years in Pundaquit has he encountered news as that. So maybe kuya bangkero was not lying after all yesterday. But last night, our driver voluntarily told us that someone has drowned in Anawangin last saturday night. He said it's the first time. in my mind how could they not inform guests of the danger this place has. I quickly befriended Mr Google and there I found many blogs about incidents in Anawangin. So please mga sis, please please please let us be careful. I read somewhere in the net that Anawangin has this certain spot na malakas ang current and soft ang sand and suddely goes high tide. So please people, let us take some time to research about places that we go to have extra effort for our safety.

parang third time na ito na may nabalitaan akong nalunod sa anawangin.....first yung mga mountaineer na natangay ng agos sa ilog...second yung guy na mountaineer din na nalunod at third eto na...ingats lang dapat at respect sa place...lat year nag nagsasa kami tapos stop over sa anawangin di ko sya agad nagustuhan bukod sa may bakod na yung beach eh parang kakaiba yung lugar kaya di na kami nagtagal gusto pa ng 2 kong kasama na mag swim pero nung sinabihan ko na may nalunod na dun gusto na din nila umalis.....pero sa nagsasa ok naman tahimik sarap ng tubig although malambot din yung sand  at madaming jelly fish

kahit kame ni hubby, iba na tingin namen sa Anawangin. parang ang baho at ang dumi na. hindi po katulad dati na puro mga mountaineer pa lang nakakapunta, malinis pa siya. yun iba po kase, wala respeto sa lugar. feeling ko, kalikasan na ang kumuha sa kanila..opinion lang po..

hay.... so sad that means up to now ganun pa rin sitwasyon sa anawangin. malakas kasi current dyan and lately panay bagyo at malakas ang hangin  condolence sa namatayan sad to hear      natural lang mag lie mga boatman dun siempre matatakot mga guest pumunta at hihina negosyo nila. ganito lang sana kung dun banda sa right side ng island prone sa accident e di sana lagyan nila dun ng warning na sudden drop shore. or at least man lang sabihan nila mga guest inggat wag lumangoy sa malalayo hay... pumunta tayo dun para mag happening pero traggic naman pala maabutan kaya nakakalungkot.

hi, sisses! my brother and his friends just got back from zambales. they also went to bataan after. hindi daw maganda yung nakuha nilang tour. first, lousy yung food. second, laging late sa itinerary. third, yung boat nila during the island hopping sobra puno ng mga passengers. dapat 6-8 people lang puwede. before leaving anawangin daw, may dumating na isang boat. kinausap ng boatman dun yung sa group nila in ilocano. nakakaintindi friend niya. sabi daw ng boatman maalon na yung dagat tapos bakit daw ang daming sakay nila eh yung sa bangka niya 8 lang sila. pagbilang ng friend ng bro ko, 12 pala sila tapos yung boat halos pang 6 lang dapat. pag-alis daw ng anawangin twice tumagilid yung boat nila. buti na lang nagbalance pa. hinampas-hampas daw sila ng waves and sobrang natakot sila. ang dami pa nila sa boat so lalong scary. yung friend niya naman kasi naghanap ng tour guide. dapat pala dito na lang ako sa forum naghanap for them.

hi sisses! were planning to go to pundaquit this weekend. Thanks for your tips, i reserved a big bangka for us 6 pax. quote ni mang mike is 3k for nagsasa, talisayin, anawangin and capones.
we plan to stay overnight in pundaquit and early next day na ang tour, ask ko lang po kung sino napo nakapag stay sa mga resorts na ito:

been there last week at nagsasa cove. too bad for me hindi ko man lang naenjoy lumangoy sa dagat ang linaw pa naman ng water. malaki yung boat na sinakyan namin malakas lang ang alon sa pundaquit nung papunta kami pero nung pabalik hindi na.medyo natakot nga ako kasi may part na malakas ang waves tapos umuulan pa. pero gusto ko ulit bumalik dun.
