Sis, try First Country Bank, it was 8.5% net two years ago for 6 years

Watch out for Corporate Bonds also- some may give interest as high as 7%

Buyer Beware

Premiere Bank ( nasa PDI today) is offering 7% net for 5 years term dep.  and 6% with 20% w/h tax as short as a year's placement.

Corporate bonds are direct loans made by companie- we are lenders, Big Corporations like Ayala, Petrom, SMC are debtors.  These are usually offered through banks ( ask BPI) or your friendly stock exchange brokers.  Pwede rin Preferred shares but its stock price does fluctuate.

The above explanation is from my limited knowledge.

^ ah ito ba [textspeak!] hindi fixed ang interest? kumbaga kung magkano ang kinita for the year compute dun kung magkano ang share mo. makukuha mo sya semi-annual or annual at hindi sya pwede idagdag dun sa 'primary amount'

Careful. Read the fine print well.
Do not be shy pursuing answers to your doubts.

Personally, I like investing (5 years, usually) in top corporate bonds.
But that is not my main investment choice ha...  that is for excess funds meant for "parking"

investing in mutual fund would also give you high interest rates.  Plus, you can easily liquidate your money, unlike time deposit that would have to lock up your money for years.

try to ask your broker or banker if they offer mutual fund and how much to invest.

Try mo na i-invest na lang pera mo sa mutual funds. (But please be sure of the credibility of the company). Di hamak na mataas ang rates nila.

And also a tip: ang inflation rate natin ngayon is 6-7% annually, so parang nakakaloko lang mag invest sa time deposit, malulugi ka pa sa inflation rate. Mabuti pang gastusin mo na lang pera mo ngayon, mas mataas pa value niya, rather than letting it sleep in a time deposit na hindi man lang kayang suportahan ang inflation natin.

Pero the best pa rin, look for other money machines and invest wisely  ;)

depende kung kanino galing yung statistical information. sa nscb (national statistical coordination board) 4.1% DAW ang inflation rate for 2009, pero sa BSP 3.2% lang DAW.....you may research about this online  :)

**pero personally, i think tama yung sabi ng information na nakuha mo na 8-9% inflation rate, kasi imagine mo na lang pera natin, last year, ang coke 1.5 costs 36 pesos lang, ngayon 38-39 na  ;)

i work for a private development bank. our 5 years time deposit with monthly interest pay-out is at 4.5% to 6% depending on the amount invested. Net na yan na interest because 5 years time deposits are tax free na. For time deposit naman na principal and interest are paid at maturity mas higher interest which is between 6.75%-7.25 still depending on the investment amount and also it is tax free.

basta advise ko lang wag masyado magayuma sa malaking interest na binibigay kasi ang Delos Angeles case or the Legacy Scam ay buhay na ebidensiya na earning high rates is not always a wise investment. Dapat alamin mo always what is the industry rate. Compare rates. Some is higher than the other talaga kasi competition din eh pero dapat in is within the industry rate.

LBC Bank gives 7% for 1 year tenure for a similar bank product, what's good is it works like a savings account as well where withdrawals is possible once per month in cases of emergency.

Saan may LBC Bank branches? I think higher rates are given by Savings banks (PSBank) compared to the Commercial banks (Metrobank)

try this number 814-0884..maybe you're talking about their power saver program..6.5% pa if 5 years..8.5%pa if 10 years..monthly contribution lang for 10 years is 1,000..tax free

i'm also considering mutual funds..kaso di ba malaki ang contribution?..
