chengkii- hi, FA?  sorry, i have no idea kung ano meaning nun. i want to apply sana kasi as Reservations Sales Associate and Integrated Ticket Representative. i am currently employed naman as bank employee kaya lang may idea ka ba kung ano ginagawa nila? tska kailangan kayang marunong kang mag-swim.. hindi rin kasi ako marunong. hehe sila kaya yung mga naka-uniform na nakikita ko sa PAL sa may ali mall? pasensya na dami kong tanong, curious lang talaga ako sa job na 'to.

Reservations Sales Associate ang incharge sa mga booking ng passengers (new booking, rescheduling)...Integrated Ticket Representative naman in-charge sa issuance of tickets and other necessary update sa tickets (revalidation). YUng mga nakikita mo na naka-uniform sa Ali Mall, sa ticketing yun. You dont need na marunong lumangoy if you want sa Reservations or Ticketing. Stable naman yung job plus may travel benefits ka (to any destination ng airline) unless magdecide ang company na mag-retrench ng employees (gaya ng nangyayari ngayon sa PAL).

hello mga sis, nag apply ako recently sa pal, so far i've been very lucky to have passed their initial impact interview and medical interview, soon im going to take their exam, kinakabahan ako sa executive panel interview and the over-all medical check-up kasi i heard (from other site) na mahirap daw medical exam nila.. does anyone know ano nangyayari sa medical exam and kung ano questions sa executive panel interview? TIA

^^sis bloody_venus - iPams din siya dumaan. May exam pa na about half day din daw. The reason he passed was because we worked for an online travel company program before in PeopleSupport (call center). So iyun computations and World Span, alam namin gawin.

Malaking bagay na marunong ka mag compute ng fare difference, resolution sa mga overbooked flights, etc.

Ako before sa website lang ng PAL ako nag apply. Wala namang height requirement. Pero may age limit, 28 y.o and bawal ang overweight.

Right now there is a long list of PAL Av School cadet pilots waiting for their training. In short, they are not accepting students at the moment. Suggest if you're BF really wants to fly, tell him to save a lot and take flying lessons. Once he gets his minimum private pilot hours, he can do part time at Gen Av (general aviation) flying the fish route. Then when he has the minimum flying time required by the airlines apply na sya.

^Yes as long as he meets the required flying time plus licenses/aircraft rating. Not to discourage you or anything but malaking gastusan ang involved dito. That's why I said he has to save big time for him to get flying lessons. GenAv pays peanuts, ang habol dito is the flying time one earns.

But if this is what he wants talaga, no matter what he'll try to overcome all difficulties to achieve his dream di ba?

oo nga milyones daw  hopefully he'll be funded by his father. ang concern ko lang kasi is, is it worth the risk? baka may surplus of pilot grads na walang makuhang trabaho. are there pilot grads who gave up their chances to fly dahil walang makuhang trabaho? kung mangyari sa kanya yun, baka mahirapan sya bumalik sa corporate world.

karamihan ata ng pilots ng PAL from phil airforce according to my sis, who is an FA sa PAL ngaun...

Hindi ako FA or an employee from PAL but a close friend of mine is She submitted her application form online and I think she waited for the HR to contact her. She underwent A LOT of screenings talaga. Physical assesment muna yata if I'm not mistaken. No pimples, dark spots (visible), nails, etc. Sobrang mahigpit daw talaga and luckily, she passed that level. Makinis naman kasi siya talaga. She was interviewed yata not only once, basta the most crucial part yata is the impact interview? I dunno. Basta interview, the last one. And then, she waited for their schedule ng training. Training is for 3 months sa PAL Training Center near Rob Manila. I can't really explain how her life was during that time hahaha! Toxic, stress, intense aral. Kasi madami pa din natatanggal during the training. And before the 3-month training ended, nag-start na sila mag-fly pero they call it check flight yata? Parang practice, observe, ganun I think she once flew to HK during that time. And then graduation at the end of the training. She waited for a few weeks for the real deal. Haha! They're on probationary status muna as usual. They only fly to domestic destinations. According sa kwento niya, 4 legs (I don't know what legs mean lol) a day is very stressful na. Minsan naman parang matumal naman na after a flight in the morning, bored na siya sa bahay after that.

I think being a flight attendant especially sa PAL is a very glamorous job (and dangerous! same with the pilots) indeed. I'm always fascinated kasi with them whenever they walk sa airport very prim and proper talaga. Regarding dun sa salary issue before, I asked her about it and medyo hindi rin niya alam hahaha. Compared to other jobs, mataas na rin ang starting pay nila talaga. But if you compare it with the other airlines (internationally), mababa nga naman.

Ayun, shinare ko lang I hope nakatulong sa mga aspiring FAs and those who are interested in applying sa PAL

i have a friend who's FA sa PAL. pag may out of town kami nakikipagpalit lang siya ng "lipad" that's their term sa parang duty or pasok nila. so sabi ko parang ang sarap naman pag may lakad ka hanap ka lang ng marrerelieve sayo ok na.. wala pa problema sa pagpasok dahil may sarili silang service bawal daw kasi makita sila in public na nakauniform so hatid sundo sila sa bahay nila if may pasok..

hi sis, i can attest to that.. grabeng toxic ang training.. i reach the point of quitting and thinking na 'ito ba talaga ang gusto ko sa buhay?' that drama.. everyday exams.. it was really hard but if its really what you want and passion mo talaga, kakayanin mo siya.. sabi ko nga e, nung college and high school ako never ako mag aral ng tulad ng aral na ginawa ko dito sa training. hahaha.. ibang klase talaga sa mga nag apply and nakapasok na, goodluck sa inyo, ang see you soon sa PAL

just wondering, how much kaya ang salary sa PAL as FA?
and what are the compensation benefits? kasi diba toxic yung work na yun. may health insurance ba?
