^^ Agree. So I guess, it would make more sense to just adapt the culture of the US or some Eurpoean nations on the way marriages are treated. Diba majority of the population in those countries are also Cathoic?

There is divorce in Italy.
There is divorce in France, another Catholic country.
Yes, France is one .. they even have more religious holidays than we have -- like, the day of The Assumption is celebrated there as a public holiday.

I would rather have divorce legalized as a way out for troubled marriages.

if they don't want divorce, sana wag na lang nila pahirapan mga tao na kumuha ng annulment. i know family is important and they want to keep couples together pero kung emotionally, mentally and physically abused na ang isang tao, wag na ipilit. nakakaawa yung ibang di makawala at nagsusuffer.

i don't agree with this, wala na yata sa matinong pag-iisip ang may gawa nito,or,i bet,he or she is going through a bad marriage..super lugi nga naman ang mga babae nito, kawawa naman yung mga housewives,na umaasa lang sa hubby nila, tsaka parang magiging useless narin ang pagpapakasal sa simbahan nito kasi wala nang till death do as part, till contract expires nalang haha

I heard that nasa Senate na daw yung topic na ito? Malaki ata ang possibility na matuloy ito but from 10 years, 3 years lang yung validity ng marriage...

Driver's license, passport, professional license/s - you gotta renew. Pero marriage contract, no way. Ayokong ma-hassle, kakaloka.

what if di ako mag-renew, ibig sabihin di na ako legal wife ganun? ibig sabihin pede na uli mag-asawa ng iba hubby ko, ganun ba yun? and pede ko na ilagay sa civil status ko na single ako.
and ano na essence nung mga sinabi ko/namin ni hubby during our wedding na till richer or poorer, sickness and in health, till death do us part?
parang kawawa naman yung mga ikinasal na super bongga ng wedding and super laki ng gastos tapos valid for limited years lang. kaloka to ha.
i don't like this!
diba marriage is included in the 7 sacraments? so dapat respect lang. di naman lahat ng couple nauuwi sa hiwalayan or di magandang samahan. wag naman nilang idamay yung couple na happy naman sa isa't isa.

^kase ang passport may validity...renewable. nasa sa iyo if gusto mong irenew of not, kaya dun kinompare ang proposed expiration date ng marriage contract, pag na-aaprove iyon, magkakaroon ng validity ang marriage contract at pag nag expire na... nasa sa iyo if i-rerenew pa ito...

 ;D ;D ;D

And it goes both ways... pano kung si babae ang may "kaya"?

Wife: ah, wala kang silbi ha... sige inde kita irerenew!

For me this is kalokohan. I'm all for "keeping the family" pero kung wala na...wala na. Bigyan na lang ng "way out" ang mga couples pero walang lamangan. Indi yung ganyan na parang joke time
