i'm leaving for the US this december, a lot of people are already demanding for their pasalubong. ang kaya ko lang talaga bilihin ay chocolates. kaso ayaw daw nila ng chocolates, ayaw din nila ng bath and body works products at yung usual affordable pasalubong. may specific item sila na gusto.
i'm computing how much these things would cost, ngayon pa lang ayaw ko nang bilihin kasi namamahalan ako at baka mag excess baggage pa ako.  ayaw ko din maghanap ng mga bagay sa US kasi mauubos yung oras ko. whether they like it or not, chocolates ang bibilihin ko kasi yan lang ang kaya kong bilihin na effortless. ayaw ko mag effort ng sobra kasi alam ko naman na pipintasan nila ako kahit ano ang ibigay ko. saka hindi ko naman obligation na bigyan sila or bilihin yung mga ipapabili nila. sana maisip nila na ang sweldo ko ay pesos hindi dollars kasi Philippine based ako gaya nila.
actually, i'm a bit upset because they're choosy on what they want and they don't seem to appreciate what others give them. i don't have a lot of money to splurge on, since i'm going to the US just to visit my family. aside from that, i want to save my dollars so i can use it on my next out of the country trip.
if they continue to insist on what they want, baka magtaray na ako. ang hirap naman kasi magpaalam sa office na mawawala ako ng 1 month kaya madaming naka alam na aalis ako.

^^^Ang galing naman nyan, sis! Why do you have to entertain naman their demands? Before I used to give small pasalubongs to my officemates and appreciative naman sila but now wala na akong binibigay. Basta importante sa akin, may pasalubong my immediate family. I usually get them bags, shoes or shirts. Or whatever is on sale there.

last punta ko ng US ako lang mag isa.. i suggest wag na masyadong chocolates kasi pang pabigat lang yan, meron naman dito sa duty free although mas mura talaga dun lalo na kung buy ka sa Cost Co., pero kung yung tipong isang box ang bbilhin mo chocolates pa lang 10kilos na agad...tapos yung mga lotions, nakakatempt talaga bumili kasi yung mga VS at BBW pag nag sales sarap mamakyaw...pero ang lotions lakas den pang padagdag nang weight kaya dapat limit lang...minsan yung iba bumibili ng lotions sa $1 Store hehe (pwede na yun) pang bigay lang naman...

pero i suggest kung hndi naman nag mamadali pwede den shipment mga tipong 1 buwan lang ata ang pag aantay para mas makamura..

basta pasalubong, isa lang sagot ko diyan hehe...ROSS lang LOL....

one time nag punta kame ng LA (downtown) nasa tip ng tongue ko yung place, basta starts with letter S, na madaming mga Mexicans na nag titinda para den mala Baclaran or Divi...halos made in China den mga products...dun ako bumili ng mga shirt na print on na "L.A.", pwede den sa Big 5

dont worry sis..wag mo masyado i-pressure ang sarili mo...wag mo isipin yung iba...ang importante is ang bilhin mo yung para sa self mo and your family...

i don't know how it started. when i was new in the company i noticed that whenever someone goes out of town they would give out tokens from their trips. nagulat nga ako noon kasi ang dami namin sa isang team, tapos nagbibigay sila ng token sa lahat. once lang ako nakatakas dyan when i went to japan in secret. but 1 month is too long kaya mahirap itago.
as for my co-workers mga 25-30 people yun, some do not expect any based on their reaction whenever someone gives them a pasalubong, others have their own demands.
ang gusto ko lang talagang bigyan ng pasalubong ay yung close friends and relatives ko.
ano ba ang magaan at mura lang na pasalubong? once binigyan ako ng paper soap ng cousin ko. ano pa ba ang pwede ibigay lalo na sa guys? for girls kasi medyo madali sa guys lang medyo mahirap. magkano ba ang key chains sa US?

^sis mahal pa rin mga keychains if you add them all up. Mabigat pa! Minsan hindi din naman nagagamit ng napapagbigyan mo, sayang lang pera and effort mo.

If you really want to give pasalubongs, when you arrive from the US go to DFS and buy those chocolate packs that come in mini sizes. Give each and everyone of them 4 to 6 pcs each. Or kung medyo galante ka ng konti buy a pack of those infamous cheez balls. It's the thought that counts di ba? Kung di sila masaya sa binigay mo sorry na lang sila. Pero kung ako lang sis, I would rather buy stuff for my immediate family and of course the alalays in the house.

purpleish: I think you're talking about Santee- yung parang Divi. Accessories mura dun. I don't recommend getting stuff from that area though, as pasalubong. Depende sa store pero madami dun rini-raid eh and especially yung stores na may fake items, most of them funded yun ng mga gangs ng LA.

ayunn..Santee nga hehe yes sis kung pasalubong hndi na talaga, pero kung shirt  2x lang pwede na dun...hindi ko lang maalala yung price parang (3-5pcs for $10)..basta pasalubong na medyo branded na for less ROSS lang ako halos ng mga pinoys den dun sila bumibili...

I also went on the weekend flee markets in Anaheim Univ... got lots of good stuffs from there

like the muscle shirts for my kids that are 3 for $10... hanggang ngayon fave nila isuot kasi super lambot ng tela

also got trinkets in there for $2 each... mga mexicano ang nagtitinda, ok naman ang items nila at pwede ka makipag-haggle

^^Or TJ Maxx and Marshall's! Kung medyo gusto mo ng high end na branded go to Nordstrom Rack. Hindi kumpleto bisita ko sa US without shopping at these stores. Oh, isama mo na rin ang Target!

Ok din Kohl's. For food, Costco talaga or Sam's Club. Yun nga lang, may membership for both Ok din Trader Joe's though medyo mahal pero sarap truffles nila Some 99 cents stores are ok too. Dun ko binibili notebooks ko dati nyaha saka may chocolates sila na mura although kung maramihan, lugi pa

ganyan lang. jusko, the lotions sobrang dami. hindi pa ubos yung dala ng asawa ko, nagpadala na ulit. at ang spam, hindi na pinapansin. feeling namin kumakapal na dila namin.

but honestly, i would totally love it kung may chocolates. wala eh.. kahit m&m's lang. hay.. sayang.

yun nga feeling close sila kahit hindi naman. kahit mabigat literally ang chocolates , mas gusto ko yun na lang ibigay kasi mas magaan sa bulsa ko since madami silang bibigyan. kahit sa duty free na lang ako bibili ok lang din.

yung iba gusto pa magpabili ng mga vs products at make up. ayaw ko bumili ng mga ganun kasi kunwari 3-5 people yung magpabili ng tag 3 bottles ng lotion so mga 9 to 15 bottles yun, mabigat na yun for me.
mag uuwi pa ako ng mga vitamins ng dad at lola ko. mabigat na yun, ayaw ko na dagdagan pa ng lotion bottles.
i'll be travelling alone, baka mag bayad pa ako ng excess baggage at baka masita naman ako sa customs sa dami ng mga bitbit kong pasalubong.
as much as possible yung mga gusto kong bilihin sa US ay yung wala or super mahal dito.
