We went there this morning at na-impress kami sa thoroughness ng explanation ni teacher Tess yata yun about the progressive method. she even showed us the performance indicators na hahanapin nila for my child's age as the lessons progress.

pati yung dapat maging involvement ng parents in the process in-explain nya din. 

we also liked the fact na may playground na maayos at ginagamit din to develop the child's motor skills. of course tuwang-tuwa ang anak ko sa playground.  yun actually ang hinahanap nya tuwing sinasabi ko na magvi-visit kami ng possible schools nya.

48k na for sch yr 2012-2013 for cash basis. it goes up to 51k pag quarterly. me 2.5k pang fees for other stuff.

may sit-in class anak ko this Feb 17 at decided na kami na i-enroll siya for summer preschool (3.5k for 1 month) to help ease him into going regularly at taekwondo classes pang-ubos enerhiya.

sa lahat ng napuntahan namin, ito na pina-gusto ko. we went to Falcon, Achievers, TDS Hope Christian, Little Shepherd at My kid's world laboratory.  Pati yung Schola Progresio sinilip namin (ito na yata ang 'Ateneo' of progressive schools kasi nasa 120k daw ang fee whereas Ateneo's is 100k++).

Gusto pa sana namin puntahan yung MSA Whiz Kids... pero malayo kasi ito talaga sa amin. Desperate lang ako makahanap ng ok na school, based on feedbacks dito, kaya ko kinonsider.

Pag grade school na siguro tsaka namin i-consider ulit yung Falcon, Hope Christian or St. James.

Nung pumunta kasi kami sa Hope Christian may mga big kids na nagtatakbuhan...fear ko baka mabangga (or ma-bully) anak ko pag gumala-gala siya sa grounds since it is a big school.

^ ang alam ko meron preschool sa st james... parang nakita ko may nakalista sa tarp nila sa labas ng school.

i was also considering sending my son there, but for grade school sana, pero sabi ng isang sis natin na alumni ng st james hindi na daw maganda dun kasi the great teachers are gone. she herself will not send her kid there kaya nga pareho kami ng dilemma kung saan ipapasok ng grade school anak namin after sending them to a progressive school.

sana may parent na currently enrolled sa st. james ang anak ang makapag-comment as to the status of the school and the quality of teaching there... ang hirap maghanap ng school na ok na malapit lang.

If you're looking for a good progressive preschool in Fairview area, you can check out Active Thinkers Child development Center. Tuition is reasonable and low teacher-student ratio. That's just along Chestnut Street in West Fairview

^maria montessori in visayas ave preschool tuition is around 60k+ im not sure though sa student teacher ratio.

meant for me ba ito sis? eniwey, if you are referring to the TD&S Hope Christian school (or academy) i've mentioned, it's on Iris St, West Fairview.

caveat though... when we went there we saw a big sign posted sa taas, 'This property known as the Iris Manor is under litigation. Transact business at your own risk.' or something like that... di ko nakuha verbatim. sana pala pinicturan ko na lang.   

don't know if 'squatter' yung school or what is being litigated. basta natakot na ako dun sa 'transact business at your own risk' kaya kumuha na lang kami ng pamphlet and didn't ask anymore.

Okay ba sa mind specialist school banawe?

They have plenty of culminating activities..ust visit/fashion show/xmas program wherein they will be performing on stage/ambulance and fire truck rides/calesa rides/fieldtrips.The facilities are nice even the play areas and the airconditioned classrooms. It depends what you look for in a school. If you're after your kids safety then okay sa yo ang MSS, they have carpeted stairs and wooden floorings para sa safety ng kids. Ang mahirap sa Mss, too big population, mahirap maghatid sundo sa dami ng vehicles in a busy street that they often cause traffic in tha area. There are  teachers that are impressive pero maraming barok mag english or cant even talk in straight english, frankly turned off ako sa aspect na to. Btw they also have a very nice directress na very hands-on, i see her in all the activities i mentioned.

How about academically?  I mean inspite of the, as you said, barok English, at par din naman ba yung mga lessons with other school?  We're planning to transfer our twins here from Cambridge (the other option is Wisdom Light).  Frankly, we're very disappointed with Cambridge's performance lately.  I've been one of the more vocal promoter of Cambridge before, because I was super satisfied when our eldest was there but now...

I was impressed with MSS' facilities and lessons (based on their materials) when I visited last week.  Ang layo sa current school ng twins namin and to think na di naman nagkakalayo yung tuition nila.

stormy: yung bridges is special school, yung katabi nya links for regular kids.  yung bridges  nasa 130k up depende sa case according to other mommies i talked to.  i inquired here bec i have a child with special needs , hindi ganu accomodating yung bridges at di talga nag totour when i asked, kelangan mag pa assess/evaluate muna, they also didn't want to give any estimated tuition rate kahit walk in inquiry, parang ang higpit and its as if ikaw talaga ang dapat magpursue sa school, and hindi sila sa clients. i dunno kung sa links ganyan din. pikon din hubs ko sa guard nila, kakadrop off lang sa amin madali ng madali kung magpalayas kesyo parating na daw directress nila, pwede namang sabihin ng maayos pero arrogante ang dating, hubby ko pasensyoso pero napikon sya dun.

cherrys: academically i don't have comparisons eh,  pero materials nila nice nga.
Wisdom naman they claim theyre advanced in academics, super ma pr and accomodating directress nya to the point feeling mo parang ahente nang pipilitin ka haha tapos mabubulabog ja talaga kase they will always call you for follow up,free trials  etc, kahit i said nakapag down na ko mss pinipilit pa din ako. small population lang kase sila.

^Thanks for reply.  You're correct about Wisdom Light.  Too pushy to the point na naturn off ako.  We inquired last year pa, but had second thoughts because of the facilities.  And safety wise, medyo alanganin.  MSS naman, I just went there for the first time last week.  I was immediately impressed by the look and feel of the school plus the materials pa.  Mahal pero based from what I saw, parang worth it na rin.  Yung Wisdom Light kasi di na rin naman mura ang fees and yet talo sa facilities.

@sachism, ayun sis nadescribe na ni sis mai yun school ganun din ang naexperience at pakiramdam namin. Hindi para maghabol ako sa school sis kahit gaano pa kagaling kasi magiging stressor lang.

We transferred na rin kasi kaya I enrolled her sa isang school sa BHS. Nasa big school na sa ngayon ang 5yo ko.
