How to deal with babies suffering Colic?

yep sis utot din siya ng utot..=) minsan kasi talagang ayaw magburp..aawa nanga ako baka nangangawit na siya.. =(

^sis basta 15mins at most kahit walang sound ok na un sabi saken nun nurse sa st lukes when i gave birth. hehe.. naisip ko din nakakangawit, kaya pag matagal na hinihiga ko na siya. actually ok na un utot ng utot, tiyaga lang ako sa pagburp kasi para hindi maglungad.

hi mga sis! problem ko rin ang pagiging colicky ng 1 month old boy ko now. Actually, from where I am now 6am na and kakatulog pa lang ng baby ko. Before, having bad episodes of colic he was diagnosed with acid reflux. As early as 2 weeks ng pinanganak ko sya from 10pm-6am umiiyak ng walang humpay ang baby ko kahit paos na minsan umaabot pa ng 8am katulad kahapon. Hindi ko na alam ang gagawin ko may binigay naman na gamot saken yung pedia nya (Minifom) pero wala pa din.  Ang nakaka-frustrate pa eh may isa pa akong anak who's just 19months who needs me wide awake when he wakes up. I'm also worried baka magkapost-partum ako bcoz of this. I'm solely taking care of my boys all day and at bedtime kasi my hubby's goes to work 8am-5pm.  Can't wait matapos na ang colic period ng newborn ko ng makatulog nman ako ng maayos Any safe remedies or meds na mabibili ko dito sa Europe?  TIA!

My daughter also was like that nung newborn sya... super iyak ng iyak... i tried all sorts of stuff.  Read a lot and did a lot of internet research on colic and fussy babies... 
1.  reflux - tried elevating her bed para ma lessen ang reflux if thats true.
2.  fussy - bought this book and dvd (with cd) on the happiest baby on the block, they say the sound of a vacuum / blowdrier will lull your baby to sleep -- didnt work for my baby

na try ko na rin yung sleep conditioner and sleep sheep doesnt work rin. 
pag carry mo ba sya nakakatulog sya? 
Mabilis magising baby ko and she doesnt take a lot of naps and if maka nap she nap for like 12 mins max mga up to 2 months old sya ata.  nag improve na lang after that.

Have you tried to swaddle her?  i find that the only thing that works for her is swaddling her... while you are swaddling her she will try to fight you pero after pag naka swaddle na sya and you try to put her to sleep mas nakakatulog sya. 

Sa totoo lang i think some babies are just born like that... my baby is 13 months old now... and I can say she's wonderful!  she is still demanding but I noticed that since we give her our full attention all the time she can do a lot of things for her age.  Strong willed lang sila.

Try to get some help... kahit na minsan lang sa isang week so you wont feel so tired.  =)

fairy_ginger, we had the same problem when my son was a newborn.. the problem started when he was a month old.. it started for more than a month din.. we did the following as per pedia's advice:

- the pedia adviced this is due to reflux. he recommended to give him gripe water everyday.
- elevated ang mattress/pillow
- while feeding dapat elevated
- massage ang tummy from time to time
- always make sure mapa-burp si baby

my son starts to cry (on top of his lungs) around 10pm til 3 or 4am.. he'll sleep for a few minutes in between.. ang layo din namin sa pinas and at that time wala pa akong yaya kaya ako lahat.. super hirap nun..

i would suggest you look for a stay out maid.. take at least a day off para mag recharge ka... babies on colic stage are very stressful.. i dont know if there's a specific cure that.. trial and error nangyari samin until it faded away... hope this helps..

San po nakakabili ng gripe water? My hubby tried inquiring sa mercury and watsons pharmacies pero wala daw silang ganun.

Hubby bought my baby's gripe water at an indian store near red ribbon in makati. i can't remember the name of the store but the name of the gripe water is Woodward's.  Super worked! It says it's ok for teething but I don't know what the connection is. Anyway, try a bottle.  It's less than P100.

For distressed moms of colicky babies, I have 2 extra bottles of Baby's Bliss Gripe Water which I'd like to pass on at very reasonable prices.

I overstocked dahil sa tuwa ko on how effective it is for my baby. The first 3 months of my baby were terrible! As in super pagod at puyat kakaiyak nya. Then I tried Gripe Water, it worked! 

Now, my baby is 7 months old, and is colic-free. So I don't need it anymore.

sis.. colic usually appears a few weeks after birth and carries on until the baby is about three to four months old. The baby usually cries intensely and furiously.  Crying episodes tend to occur at the same time every day - generally during the late afternoon or evening. Episodes may last from a few minutes to much longer periods. Bigla na lang syang iiyak at walang comfort na magpapatigil

thanks sis, siguro nga colicky si baby..but i backread na, and tried the tips medyo nagwowork naman. I also applied the attachment parenting by dr.sears, whenever i see sign na maiiyak si baby, i confort her na agad to prevent long crying bouts. Gumaan din pakiramdam ko reading this thread just by knowing na di ako nag iisa and believing that this too shall pass mag2months pa lang si baby..so mga 1or2months pa konting tiis pa

i'm suspecting din na colicky si baby.. i opened this one up kay pedia pero she didn't mentioned about colic.. sabi lang niya may iyakin lang talaga na bata and nasa pag-aalaga lang daw yan...haaay...

 effective po ba talaga yung restime? gusto ko sana itry yung mga meds mentioned here pero takot ako magpainom without pedia's advice pero if this will help--i might try.. nakakaawa na kasi si baby...
