This medicine was prescribed to my 10 yo son and we have seen a lot of improvements in just 2 months.  His derma advised him to take it for further 3 months then he can stop.  I'm just worried that this medicine might affect his growth.  His acne is really terrible and I'm so worried that it might leave scars on his face.  We have tried several acne creams and some antibiotics but they all didn't work.  So this accutane only does the miracle but very worried about the side effect most especially he's very young.  Any youngster here who used accutane before and did it really stop you from growing? How long did you take it?  TIA

just started using isonoin last Monday. every 7pm after dinner. 2capsules pa lang since moonday.
while reading all your post, although im aware with all the side effects, mejo kinakabahan padin ako. hehe.

^Yung iba may purging stage talaga sis. give it a few weeks.

I also have a friend who took isotretinoin and yes it did miracles.  Yung iba nagkaka break outs muna but after that mas maging ok na siya.  Yung iba parang stop lang agad from producing oil sa glands thats why the skin prevents from growing of acne.  I am just not sure though about the side effects of the isotret but when it comes to acne prevention yes it really does work.  I am just not sure about the 10 year old kid taking isotret.  Isn't he too young to be taking isotret?

I am taking Isotret. Curacne 20 mg, I am on my 3rd month, 3rd box right now. Hindi ako dumaan sa purging stage pero every period ko may isa pimple na lumalabas. I can say na ang kinis ko na ngayon compare 3 months ago, no more oily skin & closed na pores ko. Problem ko na lang mga marks medyo na mumula pa pero hindi naman sobra dami, sabi ng doctor ko mawawala din daw. I think until last week ng December pa ko mag stop kasi ni resetahan na nya ko for my 4th box. Side effects, super dry lips! I'm not sure kung isotret to pero I gained weight dahil kasi siguro hindi nag pro-produce ng oil/sweat ang katawan.

Thanks sis! Pero may pasok na kase kame and I dont think na kaya kong pumasok with these tiny ugly pimplesss. pano nyo nasurvive yung period na to.

^sis tiis ganda ang tawag dyan  just be patient after ng purging stage i assure you babalik ang confidence mo. nag back read ako before mag take madami dito sa mga sissies natin na dumaan sa purging stage. allowed ka ba mag make up during this time? ako kasi nag ma-make up ako, foundation & powder kaya natatakpan din mga pimples ko before & marks na lang ngayon. drink plenty of water sobra dryness aabutin mo while taking this medicine.

^hindi sis. may certain period of time lang ang pag inom ng isotret, hindi sya lifetime maintenance. pag clear na acne mo or scars mo sasabihin ng doctor mo when ka mag stop sa pag take.

Hi guys. I've been following this thread for quite some time. I also watch youtube videos re the intake of isotretinoin. It's my day 2, and i take 2x10mg a day.

Medyo skeptical lang ako kasi I watch youtube videos of (non-filipino) successful users of accutane, ang prescription sa kanila sometimes 40mg/day, 60mg/day, or even 80mg/day.

I think my dosage is pretty low. Kasi I weigh 49kg, and nabasa ko somewhere na dapat at least 0.5mg/kg ang dosage, but it could go high as much as 1mg/kg. Worried ako baka maging mabagal ang effect ng isotret sakin or worse baka hindi umepekto. sayang naman ang effort sa paginom kung ganon. Any ideas kung ano dapat ang ideal dosage for me? btw, im taking acnetrex 20mg/day (not same as the people in youtube na claravin accutane ang gamit) , i dont think i have a severe case of acne, pero for me severe siya kasi before i really have a good skin.

^Better to ask a doctor than to self-medicate.

Acnetrex yung pinagamit sa akin ng derma before kasi grabe talaga ang dami kong big painful pimples. It really did clear those up. Unfortunately, around my period eh meron pa din lumalabas (although di na madami at malalalaki gaya ng dati) so I guess may iba pang root cause na di ko pa alam until now.

Hi, sa mga nag ttake ng isonoin 10, ask ko lang kung pano pag take niyo?

Sakin kasi sabi 3x a day after a month daw titignan kung ano next step namin.

Naisip ko lang for a month mag ttake ako 3x a day so mga 90 capsules yun at this month naka 4k agad ako. Ganyan din ba sa inyo?

Sa dati ko kasing derma pinescribe niya sakin acnotin 4x a day for 1week lang per month (1box lang per month) tapos next month na ulit tapos after ng 3rd month baba na ng dosage.

I asked my friend regarding the side effects and she said nakaka dry daw ng lips yung isotret and the doctor advised her to exercise because tumataas yung cholesterol niya when she was taking isotret.  She was required to take blood tests every quarter so the doc can check the progress of her cholesterol.  So far her skin looks great and flawless na.  I am also thinking about taking isotret but it might be too late for me hehe.

It's been 3 months now after taking Iso (Acutrex) and so far hindi ako nagkapimples after a month of taking it. Medyo lumiit yung pores ko at hindi na masyado halata yung acne scars ko.

Yung side effects saken while taking iso for 6 months, super dry lips, pati yung loob ng ilong ko super dry din minsan may dugo pag nililinis ko. Medyo tumaas din yung cholesterol ko and may change of mood talaga. Madalas malungkot ako at sensitive. Sumakit din yung mga buto ko sa paa at daliri akala ko gout but after my medication nawala siya. Minsan sumasakit din yung ulo ko at nahihilo. Pero lahat yan nawala after taking it. Sabi ng doctor ko kasi reversible daw ang iso, meaning yung side effects temporary lang then mababalik ulit sa normal yung body mo after.

Ikaw, ilang months ka uminom ng gamot?
Pwede kayang 2mos. then stop na sa pag inom?kasi ang sakit na ng likod ko. ewan ko ba kung kulang lang ako sa massage or what.

^sis, as far as i know walang nagsstop after 2 months. mabilis kasi bumalik if 2 months then stop. yun sakin 8 months ata pero bumalik padin, depende din kasi sa dose (low dose ako so mas mabilis bumalik). i stopped taking it last nov since nawalan ng supply and out of country ako. mga 2yrs din ata ako nagtake? can't remember, nasa lumang page siya hehe. so far, medyo clear naman skin ko, no major breakouts. may small bumps lang if nagpuyat ako, like 3-4hrs sleep for a week. if you're experiencing back pain or other side effects, you should tell your doctor about it. siya na magsusuggest what to do based on her experience and knowledge nadin.

this medicine is really harmful sa liver.. kaya hinay hinay mga sis.. i stopped using this already because my husband and i are planning to have a baby soon and this is dangerous.. and in the long run baka magkasakit ako sa liver scary..

^^i agree. not only bad to the liver but we dont know yet the effects of this in the long run sa personality natin. When I took this, I feel my personality has changed. :/
