@shaishai sorry sis now lang naging busy ako sa work di nakaka pag GT eh.. pina stop ng derma yung friend ko when they found out hormonla imbalance.. sa blood ata nya nakita nagpa lab test siya.. so pina inom siya ng ibang pill to correct ata yung hormones nya. ask mo sis derma mo para safe..

mga sis I am taking 30mg daily and my doctor advised me to take it for 6 months..sabi ng mga friends ko adik daw ako.. kasi poreless na nga daw ata ako.. natatkot kasi akong magbreak out siguro i might go back if may mapansin akong adverse effect yung drying ng lips ko tolerable naman na nagvavaseline petroleum jelly na lang ako ng bonggang bongga yun na din ang ginagawa kong lip balm or lip gloos under my lipstick. nagkakaron din ako ng mood swing pero ngayon lang ang first attack ko after a month of taking the med.. as in now tinotopak ako wawa naman yung boylet ko :p hahahaha

hi sis. nagtataka lang ako.. binigyan ka ng derma mo roac kahit poreless ka? so makinis ka na pala.. alam ko kasi pag mapimples lang at di mapigilan na oiliness ang binibigyan neto... kaya nga hindi siya over the counter.. tas everyday pa at 30mg pa...

ako naman mild acne,, pulse treatment ako.. once a week sa 1 month for 9months... 20mg akin...ayon gulat lang ako na kahit walang acne pwede resetahan...

I was on  Roaccutane for a few months due to horrible breakouts caused by hormonal imbalance. My skin cleared up na and I would be happy if I don't have to take it again. Sure, it makes my skin less oily and virtually poreless but it's not good for the liver and it causes birth defects.

When my dermatologist gave me Roaccutane, I had to sign a waiver stating that I was well aware of its side effects and that I had no plan of conceiving for a year or so.

^ Yes sis, am done. Thankfully, hindi naman na bumalik. I get zits or two before my period but they can easily be remedied. Sorry to hear you have to take it again.

hmm yung sakin 30mg per day 20/10 am/pm ewan ko dun sa doctor ko hehe mahal pa naman to buti naman na rereimburse ko sa health insurance ko pero grabe talaga magpadry ng skin to esp lips!

wow swerte mo na reimburse mo sya. pwede pala yun?

anyway me i stopped using this. i noticed lumala yung dry eyes ko.

My boyfriend's been taking this for almost 6mos na. Grabe dryness ng skin. Yung nose nya everyday nag bbleed. When he consulted his doctor, the doctor said super dry ng nose that's why its bleeding. Naging mainitin din ulo ni bf. now his derma lowered his dosage from 30 to 20 because of uber dryness. Though i must say super nag improve talaga skin niya. But much better if he'll stop taking it na. Upto may pa sya iinom

Just recently went to my derma, he prescribed me with oral isotretinoin (Isonoin 10) to be taken everyday 20mg dose lang daily. I asked him kung i need to have blood tests before taking this drug. But he said that what he prescribed is only a low dose and blood tests are not necessary. Anyone experienced this?

^ When I was taking this, 2yrs ago, I was advised to have my blood and liver checked, as in every month for 6mons, kasi matapang yung gamot eh, kahit na in low dosage lang siya, saka during that time i am also taking up ocp. Mabait yung derma/ob ko kasi talagang nigagawan nila ako ng letter for that. Buti na lang covered ng card yung tests ko

^ Isotretinoin is a prescriptive drug and should only be given after ma-check ang lab results ng dermatologist.  It can cause complications for existing disease/s kaya dapat talaga monitored ng doctor.  Please do not buy Isotretinoins online.

I started using Acnotin 30mg 2 weeks ago, kasi super oily ng face ko.  2nd visit ko sa derma kanina since nagstart ng Iso, she decreased the dosage to 20mg.  Feel ko na ang effect, hindi na oily ang face though my pores are still visible near the nose area.  So happy with my decision to start Acnotin despite of its serious risks.

Post accutane update:

Had been on 20 mg/daily for 14 out 16 weeks as prescribed by derma for my moderate acne. After treament, I enjoyed my zit/oil-free face for another 7 months ! and then the oiliness slowly crept back. I will have a zit or two during my period...up to the point that i am getting tiny zits between periods. It wasn't as horrible as before accutane. Pero it's sad to realize that accutane is not the permanent fix.

I was attacking my acne/zit on the outside prior accutane. that's why it's not working! And the reason why it was back because the problem internally was not addressed! See, oily people couldn't metabolize the oils properly that's why it's being secreted out to the pores.

Although traditional medicine will say there is no direct link between foods and acne production. I made an experiment with myself to personally challenge this!

Since december last year, I have not taken dairy products ( cheese, milk, bread, ice cream, any food product that has milk in the ingredient ) because the cows are treated with androgen hormones--which spikes oil production! I made sure I made a significant decrease taking in refine sugars/carbs ( no chocolate, no white rice, no white pastas). I substituted sweet potatoes and oats. I drink a concoction of juiced carrots, cucumbers, apples and sugar beets  5-7 times a week. I increased my water intake for 3-5 liters daily. and I excercised!

Hurray, my skin has never been this great! Better than when i was under accutane. I have a rosy glow. My skin is not dry, nor chapped! it's soft and there's NO OIL at all! I've been enjoying it three months now! my mother won't believe me when i said i wasn't taking any meds at all. not even vitamins!

I use only use facial wash and sunblock. And exfoliate with pure baking soda 2x a week. and i put nothing else, not even make-up for my face. no more,  I am not kidding! And people keep on asking what topical solutions I used..well, NOTHING!

So I hope I can help some of you girls with my experience. There was alot to give up! But I think just so worth it..Not only I'm blemish free right now, I know I am healthier naturally!

I took Roac for 6 months more than a year ago na. I'm not sure kung natapos ko talaga or dapat ay may kasunod pa kasi according sa derma ko ay it depends pa rin sa improvement. I decided not to take it anymore after 6 months kasi alam ko masama na i-take siya more than 6 months, maximum na ata yun. What's worse is that hindi ako inadvise ng derma ko na magpablood test, which I think is necessary if you're taking this med. I also didn't like the side effects. Lagi akong parang nilalagnat, nauseated ba, pero nagnormal ang mens ko ah. Grabe rin ang dry ng skin ko, nagsusugat na nga minsan yung ilong ko. The worst na side effect niya ay nagbalbon talaga ako, haha. Hindi ko nga alam e kung magpapa-wax ba ako ay babalik na ulit sa dating normal ang body hair ko pag tumubo ulit yung hair, in which I don't need to resort in waxing anymore. Anyway, I don't know if I'll take it again. Nagclear ang face ko for  half a year, tapos nagkaron ulit, lumala pa ata nung bumalik kasi hindi naman ako nagkakaron dati sa chest and back. I don't know if it was due to the perming chemicals na nilagay sa hair ko or nawala na talaga ang bisa ng gamot. My doctor asked me if I wanted to take it again, sabi ko wag muna. I think maghahanap muna ako ng ibang paraan hehe, siguro I'll try it again sa future, but for now, no. I don't think the result is worth of the side effects na naranasan ko, to think pa na bumalik ang acne ko.

Although biggest insecurity ko talaga ang acne ko, uunahin ko pa rin ang health ko.

sis lehh, buti ka pa nakaya mo yan hehe. I don't think I can give up those foods na nabangit mo. I'll do anything para mawala ang acne ko kaso hindi ko pwede tanggalin sa system ko yung ibang foods, lalo na ang white rice,  kasi lalo akong papayat, e I'm trying to gain weight nga hehe. I hope makahanap ako ng ibang paraan

I have a really bad case of acne and oily skin and have been to countless dermas but none ever prescribed me to take Acnetrex until my derma in Global City. The other dermas I went to just made me try out different facials/topicals/meds with no results. So when I went to my new derma, she was straight to the point and told me that if Tretracycline won't give results in a month, then I should take Acnetrex. The things is, I have to take the latter for a year. I was hesitant at first to take Acnetrex but I prayed and decided to give it a go.

My derma said she'll start it with a high dosage and will eventually taper it down after 6 months. I'm currently taking 30mg/day on odd days and 40mg/day on even days - by the way, I'm on my 5th month already. So far, the only side effects that I experience is the extremely dry lips and skin which can be remedied with Carmex and body oil. Well, there were times before that I would feel unwell if I take big doses with minimal food, so I think this drug should be taken with a full stomach.

Since the first month of taking it, I have never had any big breakouts. I get a few zits when my period is coming but they'll dry up quickly, or sometimes my derma would inject on the cystic ones. My oily skin is now non-existent. Only pimple marks are left but my derma said that she'll do Fractional Laser once I'm through with the therapy.

After more than a decade of waiting, finally, something's working. I am still praying that this treatment will surely end my acne suffering.

Hi guys, buhayin ulit tong thread just have a question in mind. Do you think I still need to take pral isotretinoin kung nagkakazits lang naman ako during my pre-menstrual period? Nagkakaron kasi ako 2-3 pimples pag malapit na period ko. Although dati sobrang kinis ko naman. Dont know what happened. Regular cycle ko since every month ako ngkakaron. Kinakabahan lan kasi ako sa side effects.

^Sis, i think kung during pm period [textspeak!] naman yung zits mo, yung nipapahid na lang, kasi sobrang lakas ng gamot na toh eh, and it might do you some harm in the future, I suggest topical medication na lang instead of this. Accutane is the last resort for grabeng acnes, pero kung pa isa isa lang...I think you can manage without this.

^onga eh malakas daw effect kahit low dosage. Kaya lang kasi naipon na yung pimple marks ko. :/ since feb 2012 pa to eh. Tas ngayong month lang ako pumunta sa talagang derma. Dati kasi nung summer purp facial center pinupuntahan ko pero di naman natanggal yung marks. Kaya yun dami tuloy pimple marks. Currently, visit ako sa derma every 2 weeks tas facial and peeling ginagawa sakin. Pag nag-isotret kaya ako mawawala tong marks at di nako magkakapimples after?
