Prickly Heat/Bungang Araw

Na-experience rin namin yan. 1 month old pa lang si Russell ng magsimula siya labasan ng red rashes tuwing mainit, hanggang ngayon ganun pa rin skin niya kapag summer.

Nag-dry daw kasi lagi skin niya kapag mainit kaya lumalabas ang rashes sabi ng pedia.

Pinagawa samin ng pedia nung 1-month old siya:
- changed the soap to oilatum or cetaphil
- applied cetaphil moisturizer
- stopped putting powder (kahit fissan) on his skin
- wipe his skin with cold water after pagpawisan then apply moisturizer

Sa ngayon ganito gawa ko:
- use dove soap on him
- apply his usual J&J lotion
- apply aloe vera cooling gel / after sun gel on his rashes
- apply fissan powder
- wipe his skin with cold water after pagpawisan then repeat process

Kahit may rashes, di siya nangangati.

my eldest,  now 3.7, is prone to ehat rash/prickly heat.  when he was a baby, we used hydrocortisone cream for those na talagang mapula.  the the others, we just put cornstarch powder, but very small amount lang.

now, we are using organic shampoo to lessen the rashes.  but due to the weather, nagka rash pa din siya.  last night i applied tea tree oil dun sa mga itchy or red spots niya.  he said that its not itching anymore.  hope it works.  when my baby has itchies, we used the GIGA No Itch balm.  Super sulit!  I try to do away with chemical products para less harmful.

@hunny ally, i think the contents of the diaper rash balm is similar to the components of desitin, w/c has zinc oxide.  kaya pwede pang mga small rashes.

my baby also uses hydrocortisone pero im putting it lang pag super mapula yung neck part niya lagi kase pawis. and desitin manipis lang pero parang nag dry siya with desitin. now im putting petroleum jelly na lang and it seems effective naman sa kanya.

@ichelie sis hindi ba namuti yung part na nilalagyan mo before ng hydrocortisone?

^ with my boy, medyo nag dark.  depends yan sa skin ni baby.  yung sa girl ko, halos di pa namin nalagyan.  hindi siya as sensitive ni kuya.  we put calamansi sa bath water.  btw, reconsider using petroleum jelly... it has not so good effects.

my daughter is also suffering from prickly heat. bigay sa kanya is LactiCare-HC (Hydrocortisone) twice a day yung application.  if itchy daw, verlix.

then yung, bathing lang and prickly heat powder.

May rashes sa noo and scalp area son ko.  kamot ng kamot.  I think bungang araw. kinalbo ko na.  ano pwede ipahid dun?

hello mga sis,
kaka inis naman.  kapag weekends, i really make sure maraming powder si baby sa leeg, dibdib, hanggang tyan, batok, likod. kaya di sya nagkaka bungang araw.  we use the ricepowder.  medyo paubos na nga kaya naman talagang bumili pa ako nung Saturday bago maubos.  i instructed yaya to put many para hindi magka bungang araw.

hayz kainis. pagdating ko kanina from work, pansin ko kumakamot sya sa leeg. ayun! daming bungang araw!!! bakit ganun?  buong araw nila kasama si baby, parang wala lang sa kanila?  samantalang ako kararating ko palang, wala pang 5minutes napansin ko na yung pagkakamot nya kaya ayun! pinapunasan ko na at dinemonstrate ko pa maglagay ng powder (ilang beses ko na naituro yan!).  hayz, kakainis talaga.  palibhasa hindi maka concentrate sa pag-aalaga dahil puros celphone text ang atupag!

my 1 month old daughter has this right now, and she looks kawawa because her face is all red. we're doing everything na like patting her body with wet face towel every 3 hours and dabbing cornstarch na din regularly. we sleep in an airconditioned room every night for almost 10 hours plus 3 hours in the afternoon pero ganun pa din. i don't know what to do anymore. we can't afford naman to turn on the aircon 24/7.

sis napacheck mo na ba with the pedia? tama sila don't use anything to her face, warm water lang. also better ask your pedia kasi baka allergy sya sa milk nya (if formula inom nyang milk), especially sabi mo nga is halos naka aircon naman kayo. Bunso ko kasi ganyan nun, akala ko simpleng rashes lang, ayun allergy pala sa milk nung nagpalit kami ng milk at nagpahid ng elica, within 3 days tanggal sya. Sa akin no no na ang cornstarch kasi ginamit ko sa likod ni panganay yan dati, ayun nag super dry likod nya, as in parang nagkaliskis ng isda

my 10month old baby boy is suffering from this...
from his back, sa diddib, braso till his legs merong bungang araw and he cannot sleep well lalo na sa gabi siguro kasi nangangati. Naiyak sya and ikot ng ikot but when I start na haplusin likod nya he will stop and go back to sleep.

I only use fissan but still parang wala naman nagbabago...nakaubos na nga kami ng 1 bottle of fissan powder but still ganun parin, lalo pa ata namumula yung skin nya
Ok lang bang gumamit ng physiogel with this? hindi ko pa natry eh, baka kasi magkaron ng bad effect sa skin nya kaya ask muna ko.

physiogel ang gamit ng baby ko.  kasi it is very delicate, safe for babies.  i'm not sure lang how it reacts/ can cause (?) bungangaraw....

baby normally used yung tiny buds na powder.  pero dahil super init, naging mapula ang bungangaraw nya, kinakamot pa nga nya.  so i just tried Fissan cooling powder.  Hindi ko lang sure kung effect ng Fissan or dahil hindi na sobrang mainit ngayon, kaya halos wala ng bungangaraw si baby now.

Ang gawa namin, 1bath si baby sa umaga then punas sa gabi after dinner.  lagay madaming powder as often as possible.  Yung tiny buds i think ay mas safe naman for babies, kasi ricepowder sya, hindi talc.  yung Fissan, not exactly sure.

Sa batok, leeg at shoulders, naawa nga ako kasi kamot ng kamot, hindi tuloy makatulog ng maayos.

Pa check up kami sa pedia tomorrow sana mawala na.

Ang daming bungang araw ng anak ko. Naaawa na ako sa kanya. [textspeak!] ba need gawin sisses? Lactacyd blue gamit niya ngaun na pampaligo, need ko ba icgange na soap niya???

my 2 yo son has this sa likod nya..nakakamot nya lalo pag natutulog sya..fissan lang nilagay namin tapos kinabukasan medyo humupa na yung bungang araw nya..

Niresetahan si baby ko ng antihistamine drops ng pedia niya, about a week niya ininom, kasi sobrang nangangati siya to the
point na hindi na siya makatulog ng maayos.

Tapos pinahiran ko ng calmoseptine, ang galing pala nito, about 2 days, wala na yung bungang araw, tapos ngayon,
pag nag start ulit, pinapahiran ko kaagad, hindi na nagtutuloy.

meron din anak ko niyan, calmoseptine lang ginamit ko then yung johnsons powder for prickly heat, tuyo na siya ngayon so yung dead skin kinukuskos ko pag bath time niya.

I used Calmoseptine 3x a day when my 3yo daughter's prickly heat got really bad... as in all down the neck, nape and behind the ears... kept the area dry as much as possible tapos ligo 2x sometimes 3x a day to keep cool... in 24hrs, natuyo lahat ng rash and the new ones, di na nag-tuloy mag-flare... by day 3 faded  na yung rash-like surface pero i waited another 2 days to scrub it off...

back to fissan powder na kami for daily prevention...

Now i have a big tube of Calmoseptine from walgreens and just started using it on her pimples (reaction to the makeup she put on for her ballet recital) and it's just as effective...
