We are Kalad and I would like to again invite everyone here in GT to join just in our upcoming trip. It will be on May 11-12, 2013 to Madlum River, San Miguel, Bulacan. The activities are camping beside the river, river crossing, swimming, caves exploration, rock formations exploration, zipline and climb to Mt. Manalmon. You don’t need anything aside from tent and rubber shoes. The total per person expenses is only 1,200.00 pesos including the van that will bring us to Bulacan from Edsa Central Crossing back and forth, food, drinks and other necessary payments in the camp. If you are a non-alcoholic drinker, your payment is only 1,000.00 pesos. Please check the additional details below pertaining to this trip:

1. Kalad is not a mountaineering group that is why we tried customizing a hiking trip to make it more like Kalad. Please don’t be discouraged and think that this is a hiking trip because this is not.
2. This is just a fun climb or a simple walk of less than 2 hours to get to the peak of the mountain. It is like just walking in any other place, the only difference is that we are walking close to nature. This is a good experience especially for those that did not try trekking or hiking a mountain yet.
3. We are going to set our base camp below the mountain just beside the river.
After lunch on the first day, the participants could decide if they would like to stay swimming in the river or join the climbing team. Climbing team will be headed by two Kalad founders who are very experienced in mountain hiking.4. Because we will setup our base camp below the mountain, you will not be carrying a lot of stuff during the climb - it will be very comfortable for you to walk for less than two hours to get to the peak of the mountain. Your tent and other unnecessary stuff should be left in the base camp. If everyone will climb the Mt. Manalmon during the first day, we are going to hire someone to watch the base camp.

During the second day, we are going to leave the base camp again and explore the caves in Madlum River. According to my friend who has explored those caves for so many times, most probably, it will take us two hours to explore the whole caves from entrance to exit. Again, you will have a choice during the second day, it is either you stay in the base camp or join the team that will explore the caves. 6. During the period that we are not climbing Mt. Manalmon and exploring the caves, we all have the freedom to try different activities in Madlum River. You could do your own river adventure by hiring a boat for 100 pesos. There is also a zipline for only 50 pesos and a monkey bridge crossing for free. The river is also just beside our base camp, so you could swim whenever you want. We have lots of alcohol and food if you just would like to get drunk and eat a lot.
7. Once that we finished all of our camping activities, we could then go back to base camp and fix ourselves to go back home. According to the contact person, the van parking is also just near our base camp. There is also a restroom near us.
8. You don’t need a special hiking gear for this but it is much better for you to wear your most comfortable rubber shoes than slippers, especially during the cave explorations, your foot might get wounded with sharp rocks and different stuff lying in the cave floor.
9. Last day of payment for reservation fee and confirmation is on April 30, 2013. Another email will be sent regarding the reservation guidelines and details of how you can pay.
