Wanted: Travel Buddy (Thread 2)

Hi GTs,

We are Kalad and we are around since November 11, 2011.  We are an international outdoor group open to anyone that would like to join.  Our most recent trip was in Magalawa Island where we had 36 participants – 8 French and the rest are Filipinos.  We usually travel cheap and always just straight out camping in the beach.  We are not a mountaineering group but just a simple camping group.  We also travel cheap, when we did the Magalawa Trip, our total per head payment was only 1,700 pesos all-in including the vans back and forth from Manila to the camping destination, boat rental and free flowing foods and drinks.  We also just spent 1,200 pesos per person for our Burot Beach, Calatagan, Batangas trip. 

We are going to have another getaway on March 23-24.  Our next destination is to Tingloy Island, Mabini, Batangas.  In line with this, I would like to invite everyone here in GT.  So far, we are now 26 in the group.  5 French, 1 Portuguese and the rest are Filipinos.  Our mode of transportation consists of 2 Nissan Urvan, 1 Honda City and 1 Hyundai Santa Fe.  I am not yet done with the total payment per person but I foresee it to be around 1,350 – 1,400 pesos including everything, the only thing that you need to bring is your own tent.  If you don’t have a tent, make sure that it is okay for you to sleep outside. 

For now, we just need 4 more people to complete our target headcount, but if there will be quite a number of interested applicants, we are very willing to get another van just to accommodate everyone.

Departure Time from Manila: 3AM (March 23, 2013 - Saturday)
Meet-up Place: McDonalds of Edsa Central Greenfield, beside Teleperformance Bldg, near Shaw MRT.
Going Back to Manila: 3PM (March 24, 2013 - Sunday)
Where: Masasa Beach, Tingloy Island, Batangas
Who: Anyone can join.
Budget: 1,350+ per person (not yet final/complete computation will be as follows)
Transportation Type: By Sea (Boat) and Land (Nissan Urvan, Honda City, Hyundai Santa Fe)
Initial Maximum Participants of 30   
Beach Camping Type.  You need to have your own tent.
Lots of alcohol to drink and food to eat.

^You can borrow a tent from anyone that you know who is also into outdoor camping.  You can also buy one for like 600-650 pesos only and it is already good for two persons.  I know a lot of online stores where to get your camping gear like letsgooutdoors on facebook.

Full itinerary is not yet finished but most probably, we are just going to visit one island.  But don't worry, there's a lot of things to do in Tingloy Island, like mountain climbing, trekking, snorkeling, etc.  Hope that you can join us

Looking for budget/backpacker travel buddies for 2014

April 5-20,2014     covering   4  countries: vietnam laos cambodia thailand

16 days inclusive of 3 weekends and 3 holidays (7-day leave from work)

Tentative itinerary:   Manila-- hanoi-- laos-- thailand*-- cambodia-- ho chi min-- manila (or pabaligtad)

*Longer stay in Thailand so we can include & spend more time in the beach areas like Phuket / Ko Samui

this is to give you an idea of the budget:
airfare: P10K RT  airfare incl/excl. travel tax (RT Manila-Vietnam, either Hanoi/HCM)
accomodation estimate at USD50-75/night (16 nights total): P8K-P12K/pax (quadsharing)  up to P16K-P24K/pax on twin sharing

yeah, it is still open.  I can ask some of my girl friends if there is anyone who will be alone in their tent and maybe we could get you a space.  Also, MalditaNgaAko is just alone in her tent, maybe you could send her a message, I am just new in GT and can't send messages yet.  Regarding confirmation, as soon as possible is better because we only have 2 more slots left to complete the 30 participants headcount.  Thanks.

That's also the website where I usually buy my camping stuff.  Ang problem nga lang shipping fee, 250 pesos.  Merong nakitang ad sa ebay yung friend ko na same brand ng tent at same price pero 90 pesos lang shipping fee.  Dun niya nabili yung tent niya.  I will check it later pagdating ko sa house then post o dito.
