^Yes, you can only if you are returning to your place of work. The reduced travel tax (RTT) or travel tax exemption can not be applied for leisure travel.

Ladies, this is just an FYI and to avoid confusion on the travel tax exemption. I forgot na which thread that was wherein a fellow GT said that a friend who was a dependent of an OCW was given an exemption even when the friend was going on holiday and not returning to the OCW's worksite. I am not disclaiming what transpired between the dependent and whoever issued her ticket but I got clarification from the DOT in the person of a Mr. Butch Abenes thru email.

According to him,  "the general rule is that all Philippine citizens are subject to the travel tax when travelling as tourists to other countries. The privileged reduced travel tax for dependents of OFWs is applicable only when they are proceeding to the OFW’s worksite."

Further clarification when I asked how someone was able to get a travel tax exemption even when going on holiday, he said " When we grant the privileged reduced travel tax for dependents of OFWs, we place a restriction on the RTTC as to the applicable worksite.  The airline who issued tickets for other destinations other than that indicated in the RTTC is assessed for the violation.  Said airline will pay the travel tax assessment to us amounting to P1,620.00."

So, I guess whoever issued the ticket of the subject traveller was asked to pay the travel tax. In short, may nakalusot sa systema nila.

 ;D

pag below 2 years old ang alam ko wala pa terminal fee at travel tax. wala kasi terminal fee yung son ko nung below 2yrs old pa siya sa mga domestic na alis namin. pero pag 2yrs old na, may  bayad na, buo na yung terminal fee and reduced tax naman sa travel tax. P810 + 200 (processing fee) ang binayad ko sa 2yrs old son ko.

Exempted sa travel tax and terminal fee ang mga babies up to 1 year and 11 months. Basta hindi pa sila nag two years old. Once na they turn 2, full ang terminal fee while reduced travel tax na ang babayaran nila.

Infants up to 1yr 11 months - NO terminla fee, NO PH travel tax
Children 2yrs to 12 yrs old  -  FULL terminal fee, REDUCED PH travel tax

How much is the RTTC (Reduced Travel Tax Certificate)?

Php810.00 + Php200 (processing fee) = Php1010.00

Where to get the RTTC?

DOT or at the PH Travel Tax counter at the departure lobby of the airport

^Thanks for the info! Good thing I browsed through the Out and About threads and came across this. I thought I would have to pay RTT and Terminal fee for my niece of 1 yr and 3 months, buti na lang exempted pala siya. :) Thanks again :)
