Share ko lang how excited I am about our pedia's collaboration with other pedia specialists, they are establishing a pediatric complex in front of PGH... I am sure there are some already existing but this one is probably the biggest that is not hospital-based... and they're most probably all UP-PGH docs  

Dr. Mantaring has also instituted pala the Essential Newborn Care protocol at Asian... the practicel isn't news for breastfeeding advocates pero I am super, super happy talaga na ginawa na syang protocol, kasi some have to like really ask and demand for it pa, at least now, the breast crawl will become more common

I just love our pedia talaga!!!

Hi to all,

Newbie pa lang ako. I believe most of u here will b curious y it is me who is asking questions. Wala kasing time si misis to access the net. Grabe kcng humingi c baby ng breastmilk. kung pwede nga lang nakakapit n c baby kay misis. Not that i'm complaining. It's just that we have a feeling na konti lang ang nakukuha nya kay misis. Ngaun p lang kc nakakahabol s demand c misis kc nung first 2 weeks ni baby ay mali ang latch-on nya so her breastmilk supply was affected. Mukhang napahaba na ang introduction ko.  I just wanna ask if you can recommend me a pedia who is a BFing advocate, highly knowledgeable in his/her profession, friendly, and has a clinic in cavite or near cavite (like in Asian Hospital Alabang). We live kc temporarily sa GMA, Cavite with my in-laws.

Actually, if we are successful in our search for the pedia, it will be our 4th pedia. Our 1st pedia kasi nmin is in UST Hospital. She was not dependable. after 6 hours ng delivery ni misis ng ma-rooming-in n namin c baby dahil she can't be contacted. Saka she didn't even give us a list of things (or advice) on what we need to avoid for baby. Our 2nd pedia namin sa GMA, Cavite naman. She's ok naman but she's not advocate of BFing. We noticed it kc when we asked for advice about our baby's jaundice, she immediately recommended formula. Our 3rd pedia naman namin, when she saw baby's jaundice, she recommended that we try feeding baby formula for 3 days kc she immediately assumed that it was because of misis' breastmilk. We believe it is not because of that kc nahirapan c misis on her delivery. Malamang nagkaroon ng mga bruise c baby sa loob kaya maraming bilirubin which made it difficult for baby's liver to rid them. Saka, she advised us to use suppository to baby kc 10 days xang hindi nag-poop. In just after a few minutes of using the suppository, baby had a bowel movement. Kaya lang we doubt if we really need it kc we read it in an article na there are times na breastfed babies have bowel movement once every 2 weeks. However, we still want to have second opinion about that kc we want to hear it from a pedia who is a BF advocate. There! Sorry tlaga sobrang haba ng post ko. Thanks in advance in any information which u can give us.

@daddykulit, try Dr. Jacinto Blas Mantaring.  I believe he has a clinic at Asian Hospital.  He is a breastfeeding advocate.

I am happy to know that a father like you has read enough information about breastfeeding to know that your previous pedias are wrong about recommending formula for jaundice.  Kudos to you and your wife for not getting pressured to give formula.

there is breastfeeding jaundice and breast milk jaundice... lagi ako nalilito dito but one is more serious than the other... yung less serious, that's what happened to us (sort of) kasi hindi kami magka-blood type ng anak ko so mga 2 months syang yellowish... araw lang ang ni-prescribe ng mga pedias nya (hindi kasi si Mantaring ang sumalo sa kanya, si Dr. Pam Caedo, sa Asian din and BF-friendly din) pero tuloy ang breastfeeding

and re poop... say antsy na din kayo, you can help the movement along by just gently massaging the baby under its belly button (downward movement) and then cycle his legs forward... parang infant massage lang... i'm not saying suppositories are bad but alangang maging dependent kayo dun (that's what a pedia told my friend when her daughter was the same, i referred them to Mantaring din after and they've stucked with him since)

plus, it's not really constipation IF the baby isn't really straining/crying naman while pooping and the poop is soft... my son averaged 5 days for several months na walang poop

^ Dr. Delos Angeles - St. Luke's.  Same clinic siya as my pedia (who's on indefinite leave, unfortunately) sa MAB 5th Floor (near the elevator).  Pedia siya ni sis bump, who also breastfed her children.

I need sana a recommendation for a pedia na both me clinic in MMC at Asian.. currently briel's pedia is dr. clemente in MMC kaso everytime we go to his clinic nagwawala na baby ko pagnakita nya si doc instead na nachecheck sya ending wala na kasi para syang baboy na kinakatay..

kaya im planning to change pedia to check baka kasi natrauma sya dun. in time na din na lilipat na kami ng location sa south so pinakamalapit na hospital is asian na.

for a moment MMC muna kami this yr.. Tapos January Asian na.
I need pedia na magaling and also has care sa pasyente hindi yun pag nag check up wala ka pa 5 mins done kana.

na accredited ng maxicare pls... yun mura din sana ang vaccine fee.
