hi, also asking for help. our baby's pedia was dra. cricket chen, we went to her asian hospital clinic regularly. but unfortunately i was informed that she no longer has clinic there. so sad! we're too far from makati. mga sis can you recommend a pedia sa asian who has similar practices and is as nice as dra. chen?

Dr. Ma. Lourdes "Tippy" Tanchanco - she's my kids' developmental pedia but she also offers general pedia in her clinic.  She's very nice, from UP-PGH siya.

For those looking for a pedia-gastroenterologist-nutritionist, I recommend Dr Juliet Sio-Aguilar.  She's from UP-PGH but we go to her clinic at St Luke's.  Good doctor.  At sya lang ang nakilala naming doctor na nag-i-issue ng official receipts for consultations.  For me, that adds to her credibility.

I agree with Dra. Cricket Chen.  We have 2 pedias for our kids, one is my tita, Dra. Lulu Bravo in Manila Doctors and the other one is Dra. Cricket Chen in MMC and Medical Plaza (Makati).  Both are UP graduates.  Dra. Bravo is a VC I think in UP PGH. She's an infectious diseases expert and is quite well-known but her schedule is really hectic, hence the need to have another pedia at a more accessible hospital (especially in cases of eergency, since my tita is always out of the country on speaking engagements. Dra. Cricket practices natural medicine (prescribes homeopathic medicines for patients who are open to it), which is a premium for me.  I do not want to give medicines to my children yet and would always prefer to try the "natural" way first.  Dra. Cricket is very patient even to makulit moms like me hehe.  She was also there to "catch" my 2nd baby when I gave birth (she wasnt our assigned pedia when I gave birth to my eldest since I didnt know about her yet) and visited me and my baby in the hospital everyday...kahit malayo sa kanya ang Asian (I didnt know she gave up her clinic in Asian although she did say that it's too far).  Basta she's really good.  She's like my tita, she explains everything, including the vaccines, medicines, the ailments, etc.  That's good for control freaks like me.    Her secretary in Makati Med is also very nice and accommodating (Ms. Jheng).  She also issues ORs and whatever else you need if you have medical insurance.

Ang pedia ng baby ko ay si Dr. Cris Patdu. He is very nice at kahit 12midnight ka magtanung sa knya at emergency magrereply sha sa text.. meron siya sariling hospital sa muntinlupa Saint Margaret.. pero nag clinic din siya sa Asian Hospital..

^dr. cricket is also my baby's doctor. pagkakaalam ko wala syang affiliation with any health card.

you might wanna try dr. belen posadas at makati med. not sure if pwede sya maxicare pero she accepts medicard naman. she's ok din but she's not into natural medicine. very maalaga with her patients though.

Pedia from Pasay Area.. Dra. Lupisan is so good, nakakatuwa pa dahil very friendly at talagang ipapaliwanag sayo lahat ng concerns mo kay kasama pang drawing

mga sis baka naman meron kayong marrecommend na pedia sa asian na specialization e mga bukol sa ulo.meron kasi akong nakakapang bukol sa ulo ng baby ko.dahil pair yun, left and right.nawala yung sa left pero napansin ko lumalaki yung sa right..

for a good pedia in Asian... I recommend the one who 'caught' my baby back in 2007... Dra. Pam Caedo has clinics at Asian (771-9256) and Makati Med (813-4418)... I think she is also affiliated with an HMO... yun nga lang, since we visited her before at her Asian clinic, mahal yung vaccines on top of a consultation fee pa

our main pedia naman is Dr. Jojo Mantaring who I super highly recommend... he is a neonate expert and also has clinic at Asian (dunno lang number) but we see him at his clinic in Manila (CNR bldg, halos in front/across PGH)...he doesn't charge consultation fee na when he administers vaccines, he explains his positions well (like why he doesn't automatically give the Rotavirus vaccine), hindi sya galit sa gamot (yung reseta agad), hindi sya OA sa expectations from children...

my son also sees two doctors affiliated with Intellicare coz sayang naman our HMO... but we always go back to Dr. Mantaring for final say (like before, a pedia said my son had typhoid and wanted to treat him for such... wala naman pala!)

oh and since we trust our main pedia immensely, we ask him for referrals if we need a specialist (like for a urologist before)... I made the mistake of following a referral to a pedia-allergologist in Chinese Gen... that pedia was all warm and fuzzy, yes, but she didn't even ask me what my son ate, or did or whatever... she just told me, my son is allergic, it's going to develop into asthma, charged me with different Cetaphil products and encouraged me to have my son tested for allergens (the latest skin test she administers costs P25k)... of course I never went back!

kaya to cap this long post... I really encourage parents to work with a pedia they really, really trust... ok lang na not so charming or warm yung pedia, basta dependable and really competent... all other concerns can and should be run by him/her... and if your pedia is really competent and efficient, he would validate if there is anything wrong, or note it even before you see it, and refer agad to specialists or recommend tests and activities...
