i have booked a round trip ticket for my in laws to travel inside the philippines.
when i reveid the electronic ticket, may napansin akong ganito:

Budget economy fare family benefits:
standard seat at a fee: PHP 150
Choice seat at a fee: PHP 250

do they need to pay more at the airport upon check in?

I booked a domestic flight with PAL for Monday and I just received an email na namove siya to a latter time pero wala namang attached na bagong itinerary receipt.

Should I call them to email me a new itinerary receipt or would the old one with my old flight schedule do?

So Philippine Airlines just charged me P2,500 for a round-trip domestic ticket for my 1-year-old baby who will be sitting on my lap. And it doesn't even come with baggage allowance or the usual 7-kg. hand-carry. Makatarungan ba ito? I asked for a breakdown of the fees, but they said they couldn't show me that until after I purchase the ticket. Can anyone share their experiences on PAL infant fares?

^With PAL may certain % na ng airfare ang baby sis, more or less around 30% ng adult fare unlike CebuPac na wala pang charge ang infant on lap. Ok lang to get their budget economy, turns out cheaper pa rin to add on baggage than the regular economy.

^Yeah, the base fare for my baby was around 10% of the most expensive adult ticket. The problem was in the taxes and fees -- it made up P2000 of what they were charging me, and they couldn't even give me a break down. One of the sales rep slipped and said they were charging me P400 PER WAY for service fee. This was at a Philippine Airlines ticketing office and not a travel agency. That doesn't like a fair price to me at all.

The problem din is PAL doesn't allow prepaid add-on baggage to our destination "due to aircraft limitation." So all we can bring is the 7 kg. hand-carry; anything else is considered as excess baggage. I'm fine with traveling light and all, but geez, they don't even give the hand-carried luggage allowance with the infant fare.

^yun din napansin ko if you reserve your ticket online then pay at their ticketing office, may service charge na sila unlike when you book and pay online, kung ano yung price upfront, yun lang babayaran mo, unlike with other airlines where you have to pay for the seats and meals. When we went to Tagbilaran, naka% fare si baby, since naka budget economy yung tickets namin and we didn't upgrade earlier, malaki binayaran namin sa excess baggage. Buti nalang yung pabalik na ticket namin, regular economy na so no need na to pay for extra baggage.

^Thanks for sharing your experience, tamarind26. Looks like we have to prepare cash in case we do have extra baggage. This time, travel light na muna kami and ship whatever things through cargo/shipment na lang. Next time, I'm flying with other airlines that at least provide baggage allowance or allow prepaid baggage!

^kami i think we were credited points to our mabuhay miles account. we barely made it to our connecting flight kasi(delayed yung first flight), so naiwan talaga yung luggages namin, there was simply no time to transfer our luggages.

^^In another major Asian carrier I worked for before, we also offer cash for delayed baggage.  Usually travel vouchers are offered by an airline if the flight itself is interrupted, for example, for volunteering to rebook when a flight is full, etc.

not sure if may diff ang international at domestic. when we fly via PAL, mababa lang yung charge kay baby. HK$180 for a rt ticket hk-manila-hk. nasa 1k pesos lang converted. and may 10kgs baggage allowance siya.

PAL already compensated me via mabuhay miles, 7500 miles...parang nalibre na yung fare ko papunta Taiwan, since I traveled via Cebu Pac pabalik

does anyone know what is the partnership of PAL and Etihad is about? Nakakatawa kasi, I got an email from Etihad announcing the partnership and they had a launching here in Manila already but when I called the hotline, they have no idea about the details.

For those who've flown vancouver-mnl-vancouver, does pal allow passengers to bring a car seat on board to use? I am traveling with a 2year old, I paid for her ticket so she will be assigned her own seat. Naisip ko lang it would be beneficial to have her strapped in to her car seat na parang nasa kotse lang sya. Hopefully she'll sleep as if we are on a long drive lang.
