Is there any way to check if a certain aircraft has AVOD or not before I book my flight?

^You can check the aircraft type when you book online, but even this is tentative because due to operational requirements, the aircraft can be changed, even a few hours before your flight. Aircraft type can be changed so what more pa the features. Plus, let's say for example, your supposed aircraft type for your flight is an A320. Not all of their A320s are outfitted with the same number of seats, etc. Iba-iba din.

^Thank you sis for your reply. I guess there's no way of finding out then, the aircraft is
Boeing 747-400 from LAX to MNL. I just don't wanna be stuck in an aircraft for 17 hours/12 hours
without AVOD.

ang balita ko, Manny Pangilinan is planning to buy PAL. But he wants all the court cases to be settled first. I think MVP will manage PAL better than the Tan's.

Grabe talaga yung nangyari. Di ko maimagine kung isa ako sa mga passengers na yun! Terrible talaga! I was about to book roundtrip tickets for me and hubby for our bangkok trip in november but right now i'm having second thoughts if i should book with pal or might as well book with other airlines

nakakaawa talaga yung mga passengers kahapon. they were left to suffer by the employees who have a different agenda other than to serve their clients.

sana talaga MVP will take over. i hope he can turn things around for PAL. though it's gonna be tough coz airline industry is really suffering losses year-on-year, and that is worldwide. others are able to stay afloat kasi well-supported at financed sila ng governments nila like the case of Etihad and Emirates Airlines of the UAE.

Being a former ground supervisor,  my heart goes out to them. No one wants to lose their jobs. I supervised quite a number of them, PAL being our former ground handler, and a lot are good friends. My husband became friends with some of them, too, of course, esp team naman the ground crew, flight deck crew & cabin crew. They work together. Unfortunately, the flying public is the one suffering.

@aquacharly - Yikes! Right on the last working day of the PALEANS.  I suggest you make alternate travel plans if you don't want to be stressed. Though the management tries to field their US flights (because it's their moneymaker flight) expect these to be super delayed if not cancelled. By the way, their US flights are departing and arriving at T1 in the meantime.

If you choose to still take your chances, you can always ask them to transfer you to another airline in case their flight gets delayed or cancelled. Safe trip home, sis!

@Aquacharly, their US flights are back in T2 again. Right now the situation is very fluid so suggest to check with them directly what terminal you will be arriving at in case someone will be picking you up.

Good news!, kinda.

PR105 Sept 30 - departure  set back by 1hr
                        Then, shucks! 1.5hrs stuck inside the plane, grrrr... Due to "a mechanical problem"
                        (eh Ate, baket mo kami load on the plane, masarap na upo ko sa Mabuhy Lounge with
                                    my IPad!)

Thank goodness!  Landing was good.  Baggage retrieval from the carousel very prompt.   Customs like vultures, lol. Grrrrr
