^^ako, I try to sleep, but I can't. I'm a light sleeper and the slightest noise/bump wakes me up. Pag nasa plane, good luck, 0 sleep talaga!

^yun nga, ako naman I've always flown with Singapore Airlines (once with Malaysian, CX and PAL), pero love ko talaga Singapore.

That's what I was thinking nga.. direct flight na Manila to for example LA kung PAL. Wala ng stop over/transit. One long torture lang for me lol

^sis i take meds to help me sleep. hehe. im a light sleeper too but meds help. kaya tama na busines class ka. ako rin pag economy, zero sleep din. hassle nga pag light sleeper tapos economy. torture yun! =(

spandexrus: ok ang march-may. unforch, walang guarantees ng discount/promo. the cheapest rt airfare na nakuha ko so far sa trips I booked with PAL was $918, all in. May of '10. I usually buy 3 months ahead but dapat canvass ka na 4-5 months before your desired dates

I ALWAYS fly business on PAL, be it perk of the job or mileage or what. They do have a menu they give out while waiting for pushback, offer you welcome drinks, etc. I guess I do get a lot of attention even if I fly alone cos aside from being the wife and daughter of pilots, I also have a lot of flight & cabin crew friends, and was also a ground crew before (of a different airline, though)...my flt last Dec bad nga cos there were only 3 of us in the business class cabin, crew chatted me up all the way to MNL. they were pretty bored, I guess. No menus are handed out in fiesta class...just the usual, "fish or beef" blah blah blah...SQ IMO gives out the best service but I favor QR n KE, too, for loyalty's sake. LOL

A long time ago, PAL used to have first class but due to marketing, I guess, they offer Mabuhay and Fiesta now only. A lot of carriers only have bi-classes out of MNL cos di high end market for travel ang PH.

Uh-oh! I just learned from my friend they are preparing to go on strike any time now. Abangan ang susunod na kabanata.

^ uh-oh nga.  a friend posted in fb that her mla-dvo flight this afternoon is delayed apparently because of the strike.

^sis, di pa nag start ang strike ng PALEA. Baka ibang dahilan yung delay. According to my friend anytime after 12midnight tonight.  Brings back bad memories

may aapplyan pa man din sana akong planner job dyan hehe. napapaisip tuloy ako kung itutuloy ko pa.

^sis, hanap ka muna sa iba. Medyo magulo talaga ngayon sa PAL, actually matagal na. Swerte lang ako I had the good sense to get out while I can. I just hope maayos itong gulong ito.

Was with some airline colleagues yesterday, and one friend from PALEA said next week ang strike...although the ban on strikes kasi ends tonight...I hope flights don't get affected too much.

Both of us were at benefits to get our tickets issued...hayy

I feel for those guys     Kasi I was also one of them when we had the back to back strikes way back in the 90s. After that si hubby naman in the big ALPAP strike in 98. Ang hirap! We saw a lot of friendships broken.

@moonstar - My aunt naman will be arriving on Thursday also from LA. I am hoping and praying maayos agad ito.

booked a flight from tagbilaran to manila on april 10. sana hindi ma-affect ng strike

PALEA's planned strike was postponed due to the order given by DOLE at the last minute last Friday. But according to my friends at PALEA they are just biding their time as they really have plans of going on strike. I am still hopeful na everything will be settled that is agreeable to both parties para naman hindi mag-suffer ang riding public.

^that's good to hear. my parents arrived safely na. my cousin naman is getting worried because she will be leaving for the US by end of month.

I know what you mean kasi my aunt is arriving on Thursday. Then this coming July naman my MIL will be leaving for LA. Matagal pa naman pero worrisome lang kasi we don't know what will be the outcome of this current crisis.

I read somewhere na they will still push through with the strike even with the DOLE/Malacanang things. I do hope things will be ok. My parents are leaving on the 16th for SFO & me and my kids for YVR/LAS on the 21st. Super worried na!!!

hay its sooo sad that our flag carrier sucks so bad. I flew MNL-LAX last month and naiyak nalang ako sa frustration. It was my worst flight e-v-e-r including the ones I operated from before (I'm an ex-crew). Grabe sila, may isa pang FA na ng tetext on ground. I hope the Ayalas buy it from Lucio Tan and do a major overhaul.

mga sis ask ko lang po paano po pag mag online booking po ako kunwari sa cebu pac pero wala pa po ako passport. Local travel lang like boracay, bohol, etc. Hinihingi pa po ba passport number ko? Or hindi na? Paano po magiging procedure sa booking kung online? saka makaka-avail pa rin po ba ako nung mga promo nila? Sorry dami tanong.. First time ko po kasi. Thanks.
