My hubby is telling me to take driving lessons for emergency and paminsan when he can't drive us. I am just so scared kasi yung mga PUJ and buses super barubal mag drive and also the motorcycles! Now there's a urgent need for me to learn na bec. Of hubby's work sched. Mahirap na hatid anak ko sa school. Just don't know if i can DRIVE so nervous!

1 thing I have to learn is how to troubleshoot the car. Kanina while I was working out, I didnt know na naiwan ko pala na nakabukas yung headlights ko. Ibang car kase dala ko and I was in such a hurry to get off dahil ang lakas ng ulan. Pagbalik ko sa car, nagtaka ko nung una bakit hinde bumukas yung door pagpress ko nung alarm. When I got in, hinde na sya nag-start Nag-discharge pala yung battery. Good thing I was parked beside the security quarters and one of them approached me and kinabit yung jumper cable so my battery can charge on their pick up's battery.

^ naku, di naman siguro sis wala sa edad kung gusto talagang matutong mag drive, ako nga 32 na di pa rin marunong paano kasi takot ako mag drive na ako lang mag isa hehe

omg i got a minor accident awhile ago.. grabe natakot ako.. nahulog ako sa gutter kanina along c5.. natakot ako coz im with my son.. good thing wala naman nasaktan smen ok naman na.. i've been driving for 2 months pa lang.. waaahh..

Lakasan lang pala talaga ng loob:) so happy kaya ko na mag drive, nakakahatid-sundo na ko sa airport, nadadala ko na sa divisoria pag weekend, nakakargahan ng gamit papuntang bazaar... Kaya ko na magdrivepero wag lang sa edsa at c5 at Medyo problema ko pa din  ang pagpark, sobrang bagal at ilang ulit bago ko makuha, nakaka inis lang pag may nagmamadali sa likod, natetense tuloy ako.. Nakakatakot din ang paikot ikot na papuntang at palabas ng  parking:(

same here im 32 na hindi pa din ako marunong mag-isa samantalang way back college pa ko tinuturuan. insecure na nga ako eh daig pa ko ng brother and sister ko. i think first and foremost, kailangan ko talaga ma-overcome ang fear. i'm working on it, i'm so working on it. dream ko ma-drive ang car sa nlex/slex, edsa and commonwealth..until then, i'll take it one step at a time

i just winged it.  i knew the basics but when it was time to drive on a highway super takot talaga ako kasi feeling ko i wasn't prepared enough pero sinugod ko nalang at nagdasal.. kasi hanggang hindi mo naman tinatry hindi mo malalaman kung kaya mo tlaga o hindi.

I hit a parked jeep a few weeks ago, but it didn't deter me from driving again last Tuesday.  I was able to drive all the way to Katipunan from my house (near scout area) without any bumps or scratches. It helped that our driver was there, although si manong driver eh natutulog lang. Kailangan lang talaga may umalalay lang muna sa akin sa pag-estimate ng spaces like sa pagliko, and I know I'll eventually get the hang of it.

Nag-drive ako last weekend on an unfamiliar road, hindi ko napansin that after exiting the highway and entering the secondary road, meron pala merging traffic from my left. Buti na lang sa peripheral vision ko, wala sasakyan. But what if there was a speeding vehicle coming from my left! My goodness, ngayon ko lang nare-realize how i could have placed myself and the others in danger, because of my absentmindedness. 

Problem kasi eh madalang na ko mag-drive, palagi na lang si husband. So everytime I sit on the driver's seat, parang lagi ako nangangapa ulit. And incidents like the one above, lalo nawawala confidence sa kin ni hubby, kaya parang ayaw nya din na ako mag-drive.

nag drive ako today..medyo malayo din. nawala ako, nag drive sa zig zag, sa makipot na daan...sa malubak. masarap mag-drive pero pag dating ko hindi ako marunong ng parallel parking, bakit nung sa driving school nagawa ko naman =( my sister had a good laugh watching me park...ako na-frustrate. now i fear driving less, i fear parking more.

^ It's okay. I also went through that phase where I feared parking more than driving. But it's simply just practice! With more practice, you'll soon get used to your car's width and length, so you'll know what you have to do to get into your slot easily. Did you drive the your own car during driving school, or was it supplied? Dimensions and cue points vary by car and model. You might also pick up visual cues from looking at your mirrors about when to turn your steering wheel and towards which direction. Don't be discouraged if you keep having to go in and out to fix your parking slot.

for first time drivers, I suggest start with manual car. mas iba kasi ang training compare sa automatic. kasi mas magiging alert ka sa lahat hindi lang sa steering wheel pati sa foot work and sa shift stick mo. saka na kayo mag matic pag sanay na kayo. kasi once natuto kayo ng manual, driving automatic car is just a piece of cake.

hehe. tulad ng sabi ni husband sis freelancer.  Mas maigi na sauluhin muna ang manual which i did. Hanggang ngayon weakness ko pa rin ang paatras at parking. zigzag mode parati. hehe.

sa tanong naman na "How I overcome fear of driving?"

inisip ko na lang na pag nag emergency sa bahay at wala si husband na dalawa lang kami ng anak ko pano na? medyo malayo-layo pa naman ng bahay namin sa city proper.

thanks V_for_Victoria for being so supportive. the car was supplied and it was a long car, the car i was trying to park now was a jazz..which should be easier, right? i just don't know why i'm not getting it. anyway, i tried watching you tube videos of people trying to parallel park and i think i've figured out what i was doing wrong. hopefully during my next parking opportunity i will be able to apply what i've learned and see some improvements.

i agree, learning drivers should practice in cars with manual transmission first..that's what i did and it was easier.

ako naman, malakas talga loob ko kahit noon pa kasi marunong ako mag bike at motorbike so i guess they're almost the same except that with the car you are safer just my thought

Going to my parents house was the perfect way for me to learn to be more careful! At first, I was so afraid to drive around due to over-populated tricycles and jeepneys but then when I had no choice but to drive to my parents house, its when I figured it wasnt so scary to do it afterall. I just had to overcome my fear and be so much careful on driving.
