i only had 2 shots and failed to take the last one..i hope walang side effect

^ wala naman side effect kung 2 shots lang... but the protection is parang hanggang leeg lang na kung naka-3 full shots ka, overhead ang protection... meaning, 100% protected ka... that's what the ob-gyne explained to us...

Basta dapat yung Gardasil, wag Cervarix. Kasi mas madami napeprevent yung Gardasil.

in my case naman, i chose gardasil over cervarix kasi affordable ang babayaran ko compared to other clinics. my ob was charging me 6,800 for each shot. when i checked with my derma, she was giving it at no more than 4k kaya i took advantage.

gardasil or cervarix, kanya kanyang choice lang talaga. nasa pagexplica nalang ng mga OB and yung budget natin kung alin pipiliin natin

I think sis your OB is referring to long-term protection ng Cervarix.  Yung study kasi to date, at 8.5 years, there's no sign of waning antibodies sa Cervarix for both HPV 16 and HPV 18 (major strains causing cervical cancer). Meaning may protection pa rin even after 8.5 years and counting. Compared sa Gardasil na although 4 HPV strains (2 strains not cancer-related), yung 3 strains nila bumaba agad yung antibodies ng HPV 18, HPV 6 and HPV 11 nung subjects sa studies.  Ako din, I chose Cervarix.  My tita died of cancer and that is why protection against any type of cancer is of great concern to me.

I am scheduled to have my 1st shot on tues. 01/18/2011. Is it true na di ako pwedeng mgpreggy until 01/18/2012?

I was not informed na ganito play yun. company benefits kasi. can any of our sissess could confirm this? TIA!

no Sis. within 6 months lang naman.  after ng 3 shots mo pwede kana ma preggy.

I got my final shot last thursday for only 1K cervarix din ang brand. My last 2 shots cost me 1.3K+ but the same doctor din..biglang nagbaba lang ng price because maraming nagresign sa company then wala na yung mga nagpareserve nun. company subsidized kaya mas mura..

@ bleudskymd - so you're saying all 3 shots must really be completed for the vaccine to be effective? had my 2 shots already and i'm thinking of not taking the last one na till i read your post..;p

just curious though, do the shots come in sets and have various formulations or pareho lang naman sila? like can i take my last one elsewhere than where i took my first 2 shots? i'll be in phils kasi this jan and that's my sched for my 3rd..

yes, you need all 3 shots. the third shot is your booster and will give you lifetime protection. if you haven't completed all 3, sayang lang yung first 2 shots. you may be advised to be re-vaccinated again (meaning, another round of 3 shots). that will be more costlier.

after i was vaccinated with my third & last gardasil, i was advised by my ob-gyne to have MMR vaccines (booster shot. the last one i had was way back toddler years pa!) as additional protection for myself & when i get pregnant. however, the drawback of MMR vaccine is to avoid pregnancy 3 months after the vaccination. the vaccine cost P1500.

^ it's just localized pain, tolerable. you can still raise your arm. for your convenience, you can tell your doctor to immunise you on the side of your non-dominant arm (i.e. kung right-handed ka, sa left arm mo ipaturok). some doctors give it on one side of the buttocks.

Im done with my last shot of Gardasil last week... as my MIL(OB) pwede kana mapregnant right after ng last shot mo...and mas importante macomplete yung shot...we have patients na namissed yung last shot nila..nag lapsed for years..so back to 0 sya ulit..sayang naman diba...

i had only 2 shots because i decided to be pregnant before my 3rd shot. I gave birth already, forgot to ak my OB if I i can have my 3rd shot while breastfeeding.

got my third shot last week. di ba pwede ma-preggy after ng shot? kasi TTC ako at yung OB ko din ang nag-aadminister sa akin nung shot. wala naman sya nabanggit tungkol sa ganun. before pa nga ako nagpa-inject, i asked her kung di ba masama na magpaturok while im taking fertility pills. wala naman daw kaso dun.

I availed the Cervical Cancer Vaccine with the meningo vaccine promo at Vaxcen Clinic located inside the Manila Ocean Park Quirino Grandstand since I have seen this in ensogo website and the amount is only 2,500 instead of 5000 pesos, so I went there last Friday to have the vaccine already even without the voucher both for cervical cancer and meningo vaccine. Now the doctor told me to come back on April 18 for another dosage then I would be paying 2000 pesos only as lower price for their promo then the last dosage would be on September 18 then I would be paying 2000 again so all in all it was like I paid 7,500. Now my question is naloko ba ako rito? like mahal yung promo nila at ginawa nilang tingi tingi yung package? 3 times a year ka ba talaga dapat magpacervical cancer vaccine? Paano rin ba magpackage ang ibang clinic regarding this vaccine and how much is that? I want to avail sana for tomorrow and pay 2,500 pesos with the meningo so that my bf could have that vaccine it is like I will be paying 2000 for cervical then 500 pesos for meningo since pwede rin yun.
