Hello everyone, I'm looking for some help. My girlfriend is going through some issues that make her depressed and at times seem bi-polar. She doesnt like to talk about her problems or issues (although i know know whats bothering her), she keeps them bottled up until it all explodes. And we recently had a baby, and I think she maybe suffering from postpartum depression and at times suicidal. She tells me she feels like her life isn't going anywhere.
Im really looking for a good female psychiatrist around the manila/espana area, that maybe does couples therapy as well? Preferably not too expensive, because I'm still putting myself through school. Can someone please help?

Habang maaga, agapan na at kung may pera, patingin na.. Ako, wala lang talaga pera noon..Sinusumpong ako ng panic attack sa work and everytime sakay ako ng shuttle, para akong mamamatay, parang suffocate.. Hirap sitwasyon ko noon.. Hindi ko alam, I have mental issues na pala...Till na discover ko last april, parang ayoko lumabas.. yun pala ang panic attack ko, nauwi na sa agoraphobia... madali lang sa iba ang medication ng anxiety disorder or panic attack dahil may pera sila to see a psych... Ako nagtiis ng mahabang taon, at ito sa food supplement nauwi kasi till now, wala pa din pera para patingin sa psych.

Kahit nga food supplement ko, hehe... Dapat 4 boxes in a month. 3 boxes lang.. And one day, ubos na pera ate ko, for only 4 months kung wala ako ipon. Hindi ko na maiinom ang food supplement.. Hirap maging mahirap.

Try going to Dra. Evelyn Gapuz. She holds clinic at St. Luke's Global and Medical City in Ortigas. Sessions are P2,000 each and she's often fully booked, but she's worth every peso. Very holistic approach.

My husband is seeing Dra Marissa Pascual (PGH). i am seeing her as well and Dra Jercyl Demeterio (Cardinal Santos). Nakita ko yung good feedbacks about Dra Jercyl dito sa GT kaya nagpunta ako sakanya. I have also joined a helpful support group sa Facebook last year and it really helped me a lot.. For emotionally and mentally stressed siya, officially diagnosed ka amn, undiagnosed or sel-diagnosed lang. Dun ko naman nakita yung feedbacks kay Dra Marissa and we like her a lot too. We really have quite complicated life right now kaya talagang okay din magpa consult.

Magastos lang lang talaga pero heck, pera lang kesa naman you put your health in risk. Hindi yan dapat sinasawalang bahala

si dr. jercyl demeterio yung unang psychiatrist na cinonsult ko, nung una kong punta ang akala kong reason ng depression ko is yung husband ko, niresetahan nya ko ng anti-depressant pero di ko naman ininom. di na ko bumalik, tas after a few months narealize ko meron pala akong social phobia o social anxiety disorder. ngayon gusto ko bumalik sakanya kaso torn na ako kung sa psychiatrist ba ko mgpapatingin o sa psychologist. mabait si dr. jercyl demeterio, kelangan un kasi mga patient nya mga depress. lol. sinabi ko lahat sakanya tungkol sa buhay ko, di ka talaga maiilang.. yun nga lang 2k ang binayad ko for the consultation fee pa lang. bukod pa yung meds. saka late narin yung clinic hours nya, 2am na ata yun.

 i just saw dr demeterio this morning. i was diagnosed to have severe clinical depression with suicidal tendencies and need to be in controlled environment (confinement in psych dept). i dont know if i should go. i know shes worried because i just had attempts these past few days. but im afraid that i cant handle  it there. mixed feeling about this

I was advised to get myself admitted na din, personally gusto ko din talaga, i just want to survive each day just by sleeping. Pakiramadaman mo sarili mo. Im still experiencing extreme depressive episode right now. Hay. Just send me a pm if you want to talk to someone.

Have you tried Psychotherapy? I've been to a psychiatrist but I was only given meds (alprazolam) He only asked me to take quarter of a pill for a week then wala na. No diagnosis, prognosis and whatnot. I am thinking of trying a psychologist next, baka naman sakaling tanungin ako without jumping into conclusion na uy! situational anxiety yan, here's your meds and this is what you owe me lol. Nakita ko dito online yung e-tharapy and I want to try that as well.

Ano ba kelangan ko daw iadmit. Di ako niresetahan ni doc demeterio ng anti depressant baka daw i-overdose ko. Kaso super duper kamahal naman. 35k a week tapos mga 3-8weeks ako magsstay dun. ;( lalo akong nadepress sa gastos. Kaso yun lang way para mawala yung depression ko. Ano ba naguguluhan ako. :|

Joining mga sis...I don't know if this is the right thread for my concerns...My mom 79 is experiencing panic attacks and she call it "nerbiyos". Matagal na niya ni take yung Lexotan and naging addictive narin ang pag take nun. But I don't know if she needs to see a doctor kasi parang may negative effects narin sa kanya yung Lexotan. Psychiatrist ba dapat? Sino ma recommend nyo for those elderly patients?

I recommend Dra. Carmela Encarnacion. She prescribes meds if needed but if not, she'll just do counselling or refer you to other therapists/counselling groups. She has a clinic in Rizal Medical Center and in Christian Medical Specialists (near SM North).

Of all the psychiatrists I've seen here on this thread, only one name caught my attention. Dra. Liz Rondain. For some reason, parang I feel at ease with just her name pa lang. Has anybody felt that way before when they were looking for a paychiatrist to consult to for the first time?

Anyway, I called the number listed but got no answer. Sent an sms na lang inquiring about the consultation hours and how much her pf is. If someone knows, please reply na lang. Thank.

Has anyone heard of Better Steps Psychology in Pasig? They're a group of psychologists who graduated from Ateneo. I was Googling for Psychologists kasi in the Metro and found their website. I'm thinking of going to them for counseling, but would like some feedback first from people who have gone to them already.
