how can we prevent cough and colds in toddlers

^Sis, I got the honey from my pedia's patient who has a bee farm. The first bottle I got is free kase kay pedia talaga yon, madameng binigay sa kanya so she gave me one. Tapos nag order na lang ako ulit. There's honey at the grocery kase but I feel like it's not pure. There are tests that you can do daw to check if it's pure like light a drop with fire (if it doesn't burn, then it's pure -- ganyan yata) and pag hinde daw nilanggam pure daw. You can also buy from Ilog Maria in Tagaytay, they also have a website.

I give my daughter 1 teaspoon of honey everyday. Yung vitamins nya na ceelin with zinc, at night ko na binibigay. Kahit ako nagttake na din ng honey and effective sya saken.

for my LO, in fairness to him and sa Pedia nya, never pa siya binigyan ng gamot sa ubo at sipon, pag may sipon like runny nose, spray lang muna ng saline spray saka pag na associate na ng cough, meron sya nirecommend "Little Remedy" yung name ng nasal drops, tapos after 3 days magaling na si baby. then minsan naman kala ko halak na yung naririnig ko sa hinga nya nung pina checkup ko nothing to worry daw at mag nebulize lang daw kami ng 2ml NSS 3x a day for 7days. praise God gumaling naman si baby, so far, wala pa talagang gamot naiinom baby ko sa ubo at sipon, talagang iba iba lang yung level ng ubo at sipon ng mga babies kaya dapat lang na macheck agad sila

^^Sis, don't self-medicate anymore. Bring your child to the pedia. Napaka-bata pa nya para mapag-experimentan ng medicine. Baka lumala and mag-lead to something else.

^No, hinde pwede ang honey for children below a year old. Like I said, better bring your child to the pedia. Serious ang thick phlegm for babies.

Honey cannot be given to kids below 1 year of age. It is considered poisonous to them because their tummies are unable to metabolize the botulinum toxin. Like what our other sisses here said, please do not self medicate when it comes to babies. They are best seen and evaluated by their pediatricians. Don't forget to follow up with your pedias also. Follow up is very important since there is a need to assess response to treatment/management given.

I have a son who is 19mos old, he was diagnosed by his pedia na may asthma and parang buwan buwan na po kami naggagamot lately. This month niresetahan nya si baby ng Meptin at Cherifer na Immunomax but then nung magpunta lang kami sa puregold kahapon, pag uwi nmin nung gabi habang natutulog sya nagigising sya tapos makati ang ilong, nadiagnosed din sya na may allergic rhinitis at hyperactive air passage. Pano po ba mapprevent yung frequent na pagkakasakit nya? Actually, 3rd hand smoke po din kasi dahil yung dad ko ang nag aalaga sa kanya, wala naman po ako makuha magyayaya as of the moment.

^ Talk to your dad and explain the risks of 2nd hand smoke to your baby. Cigarette smoke has been proven to weaken the immune system and make your baby at risk for developing airway infections, asthma and rhinitis. Even if he is under medication already, if he is constantly exposed, he will still develop symptoms every now and then.
Try to identify also what triggers your son's symptoms and limit or avoid exposure. If going to crowded places, it would be better to give your child a full bath upon going home to make sure that whatever irritants, allergens or germs he is exposed to is removed from his body. Strict hand washing dapat at all times.
Give him fruits and vegetables often and make sure he has adequate rest.
Pero yun pa rin, dapat pa rin, no smoking at all times. Hindi pa rin dapat humawak sa baby kung nagsmoke kahit sa labas pa nag-smoke kasi pwede pa rin ma-inhale ng baby yung kumapit na smoke sa skin.

We use ilog maria's bee propolis. 1ml sa bata 5ml sa adult everyday. Kapag may cough or cold it can be take 3x a day. Dito lumakas immune system of my whole family.

Hi Doc Lelet. Ano po kaya ang pwedeng gamot para sa baby ko 1year and 15days old na siya ngayon.. Please help naman po taz may fever pa siya.. OK lang po ba ang disudrin at ambroxol para sa ubot sipon? taz paracetamol para sa lagnat?

I'm sending my baby tomorrow to the pedia.  He's been suffering with on and off colds for a month or so, anyone experienced this?  This morning, the sipon was greenish I had to use sterimar and aspirator to take it out otherwise his breathing would be labored.

I guess hindi naman totally maiiwasan ang cough and colds sa toddlers.

Every time may cough and colds ang toddler ko, nebulizer lang katapat. Never pa siya nakainom ng mga medicine na pang cough and colds. Very effective and nebulizer samin. Hindi umaabot ng 1 week ang cough and colds.

Thankful ako na gustong gusto ni baby mag nebulize minsan siya pa nagyayaya hehe
