The wheezing could be secondary to a viral infection (RSV bronchiolitis also produces nasal congestion then later on, wheezing) or asthma. Anyway, since she has allergic rhinitis, it would be better if well controlled ang symptoms niya to prevent the development of complications such as ear infections, sinusitis, tonsillitis and asthma.

doc lelet same with my son...nakaroon cia ng ubo sipon lagnat dahil sa weather now...pina check up ko cia at nag reseta ng gamot na neozep .5 (3x aday), verlix (4drops a day), at HIMOX dahil may infection na daw ang tenga nia 1.6ml 3x aday for 7days... after a week ok na at bumalik kami sa pedia nia at ang sabi clear na daw...but after 2 days, may sipon na naman baby ko...ayaw ko na painumin ng neozep .5ml dahil feeling ko masyado na cia naluluto sa gamot kaya pure water nalang ang binibigay ko lagi...ayoko kasi maging dependent cia sa gamot....may asthma ang baby ko pero sa record ng pedia nia controlled naman...pero lagi parin cia madalas kapitan ng ubo at sipon....ang pinapainom ko lang na vitamis ay pedzinc... any suggestion na mas magandang vitamins para  hindi sipunin at lagi inuubo baby ko? TIA

Dapat kasi before any meds are prescribed/given, there should be proper history and physical examination. That's why your pedia is the best person to say what meds are necessary because siya ang nakatingin sa baby mo.
Suggestion ko na lang sa yo to find out if there's something else causing the recurrent cough and colds of your baby.
How old is your baby? Wala ba siyang allergic rhinitis? Kasi baka naman kaya pabalik balik e dahil may allergies siya. Or pwede rin kasing dahil lang talaga sa cold weather natin ngayon...
If it is really pabalik balik, I suggest a follow up visit with your pedia.

thanks doc lelet 11mos baby ko kahapon...wala naman daw cia allergic rhinitis meron lang daw skin asthma at yung asthma nia controlled naman daw...balak ko din kc mag palit ng pedia kasi kapag nagvaccine kami after nun wala na done, go next patient....hindi man lang kami makapagtanong ng marami para sulit din ang bayad....iba pa kc ang bayad sa vaccine kahit hindi na check up may bayad parin na additional 300... hirap din hanap ng ibang pedia dahil mahal din ang singil esp pedia sa MMC at st lukes kung saan kami malapit


sis any recommendation? sa mga nabasa ko dito sa forum kung hindi malayo mahal mga singil e

my two kids merong cough and colds. my 3yo daughter unang nagkaroon about 3 weeks ago pero parang di gumagaling. i brought her again kasabay ng kuya niya nun wednesday sa pedia and yun nga may asthma na naman. the doctor gave them ventolin expectorant, dimetapp and 5 days sila under optipred. aside from that balik montemax si bunso for another 3 months dahil bumalik na naman allergy nya. hayyy si kuya bihira na lang umubo, pero my youngest nauna pa naggamot pag inatake ng kati ng lalamunan tuloy tuloy ubo to the point na naluluha na siya. my eldest was given pala ceporex pero sa daughter ko no need na daw kasi katatapos nga lang. hayy malinis naman ako sa bahay dahil nga mga asthmatic, i always clean the house especially our room. nagtataka lang ako ngayon sa youngest ko 3 weeks na inuubo pa din

ebiko, sis kami pinapaliguan pa din namin irregardless of the weather.. inaadjust namin yung temp ng water depending on the weather.. and kahit toddler na sya, massage ko pa din back nya with oil before taking a bath.. kasi ako pag hindi naligo parang mas masama pakiramdam.. i just thought my son might have the same feeling if he skipped taking a bath..

You can give Appebon together with cod liver oil since Appebon is just basically B vitamins plus Iron and Lysine.

Even patients in the hospital get regular daily baths.
During sickness/illness, baths are needed to remove the bad bacteria/virus in our system and to relieve the heat from our bodies.
Of course, it should be short baths with the proper water temperature (not too hot, not too cold).
Even in cold weather, we still recommend daily baths with the right water temperature.

@hi dok lelet,,tanong  lang po my 19 mos old son,,parang 2 weeks na may dry cough at sipopn pabalik balik lang,,hindi ko po na binigyan ng meds kasi nakikita ko po na mukha nman kaya naman ng bata water lang at kalamansi ang bigay ko po..then nagpunta kami kay pedia jan 23,, pina check ko po sabi nasal congestion lang wala nman ubo,sabi pbigyan ko daw loraped,, hindi ko po na binigyan din ng loraped kasi sabi nila ang sipon daw kahit indi na bigyan meds water lang,,ang ubo po nya sa madaling araw minsan sa tanghali,,so nag worry na po ako,, i texted pedia [textspeak!] pwede bigay sabi po allerkid  drops lang daw 2ml 3 x day. ok lang po ba un allerkid lang,?naawa na ako sa bata kasi po laks umubo wala naman phlegm,pasensya na po haba ng post ko

Yung 1 year and 6 months kong son pabalik balik din ang ubo at sipon, ewan ko ba... Siguro nga dapat hindi i-hinto ang pag ligo nya. Minsan kase pag biglang nagulan or lumamig ang panahon, hindi ko pinapaliguan, panget ata kase parang mas lumalala.

Recently, he had colds which lasted for 2 weeks. Isinama namin sa Pangasinan and decided to go to the beach for going back to Manila, ayun, naglabasan ang sipon habang nasa beach. Kinabukasan, gumaling ang sipon! Iba talaga ang hangin sa dagat.

If gumaling ang sipon ng anak ko dahil lang dun (after taking all sorts of meds), allergy lang kaya yun?

my baby has cough and colds early this month, punta agad ako sa pedia, binigyan siya disudrin at antibiotic... naalis naman ang sipon at ubo siguro within 3 days

last week, meron na naman cough and colds si baby, pinainom siya ni mother ng oregano + ampalaya leaves + honey + 1/2 kalamansi... nung araw na yun, naalis na ang cough and colds ni baby

hindi ako mahilig maniwala sa herbal medicine ng matatanda, pero mukhang ok yun gamot na gawa ni mother.. hangga ngayon, wala na sipon at ubo si baby

my kids' pedia never gave them cold medicines. i think in US banned na ata 'to. with my youngest ever since he was placed on montelukast, na-lessen na yung allergy attacks niya. we noticed he gets colds when his allergy is triggered. in cases when it gets triggered, we give him xyzal (for the allergy) plus use sterimar on his nose to clean the nasal passage.

sa baby ko naman, nung wala pa syang one, we didnt bathe her on Tue and Fri and kapag maulan, makulimlim, etc. (i know weird, utos ng matatanda). sponge bath lang sya pag ganun.

Now na more than 1 na sya. Naliligo na sya everyday except beyond 1pm. (maybe weird again pero utos ng matatanga). naglalagay ako ng oasis baby oil sa likod at chest after nya maligo.

She takes ceelin chewables 2x a day.

When I was pregnant, I didn't drink cold water (sabi din nila para daw wag sipunin ang bata).

Thank God, hindi naman sipunin at ubuhin anak ko. Sana hindi nya mamana ang hika ko.

dito ko lang din nalaman sa GT na bawal ang honey. natakot ako nung nabasa ko yun. Kasi sinasabi din nila na lagyan daw ng honey kapag nagiipin. Dko pinalagyan. Sinabi ko masama sa bata. Sumangayon naman sila.
