may nag approach samin ni baby, she's 4,  last sunday while we were shopping, inviting us to do a vtr for a tv commercial. meron bang familiar or na encounter na ang liahona casting agency?

^there's no concrete rule naman na dapat professionally taken. my daughter was able to book her first ad with pictures I took. pero siyempre iba pa rin ang quality if the picture is taken professionally-taken. nicer ang angles and clearer.

mga sis na may experience na maging model anak nila ano ba dapat 1st step? like ko sana pasubok anak ko...just want to prove something sa mga laitera sa anak ko kasi nga payar so hindi daw cute ;(

^ if you think your child needs to put on some weight, do it before you attend VTRs and final casting! My son used to be small, as in payatot! We were mostly invited on diaper TVC and print ad but hindi talaga siya napili because of his weight... Now that he's 5, he got 2 stints - Jollibee EQ Dry promo but since supporting role, hindi talaga siya nakita sa TVC and a mother's day Ayala Malls print ad (major role) last year.

We've been getting invites from the agency but honestly, hindi na napupuntahan at times because of his schooling! Hope I can give my daughter the chance soon, payatot pa din eh and she just turned 1.

Do you have talent agency in mind by now?

IMO, it doesn't really matter if your kid is mataba or payatot. My daughter is never mataba but she got casted for some roles. It all boils down to whether your kid is a good fit to the company's requirement

ideally speaking, the kids must look fit and everything else will depend on the role...

wala pa sis i don't have an idea saan ok e... she's not chubby pero siksik kasi katawan niya saka mahaba..any suggestions?

Oh yes I agree with you that kid must look fit! But fit doesnt necessarily mean mataba. There are some kids naman who are payatot but healthy looking. Siguro it all boils down if the thin kid looks healthy or not and not mukhang may TB. like I said my daughter S was never chubby and has always been on slim side but she had several projects under her belt (baby magazine cover, j&j baby oil tvc, Casio Summer ad, and her biggest so far the Ayala westgrove print ad & billboards). I'm pretty sure your little girl can bag that tvc role too!

Princess_chill, don't worry so much about your kid's weight. Pinoys just have a distorted notion of thinking fat kids are cute and thin kids are not. Just make sure your kid looks healthy.

^ i am speaking with disappointment for that's how we experienced it with kuya and heard it directly from 3 agencies (all in Makati) way back: "Mommy, patabain pa natin ng konti si baby para mas madali siyang makuha sa role!"
I don't want that thing to happen again and I certainly agree that fit doesnt necessarily mean fat (michelin baby)

During that time, I wasn't persistent enough to get what I wanted for my child. Everything was given unexpectedly inc 2 ramp modelling with Mossimo & Sanuk

question: my baby is 2months old, kailangan ba set cards or pictures from studios ang isubmit sa agencies? or pwede na at home pictures? i'm eager to try this sa first born son ko baka swertehin lang hehe may kumukuha ba kahit sa newborn babies or mas madalas when they're a little bit older pa

^ Wala namang requirements sa photos except the size for online application forms but if you can submit setcards, why not?! You can definitely try to audition sis, NB are occassionally needed!

eens, baka iba ang standards for girls compared to boys? 

puglover, my daughter did her J&J TVC at 6-7 6mos. if you ask me if I'd do it again, I wont. ang init ng lights sa set. I even panicked at one point cause the story board had a scene where the mom will put oil on my daughter's legs. Oil and hot lights are not really a good combo. buti na lang my daughter had tantrum by then so her alternate had to stand in. anyway, leg shots lang naman. but i really pitied the stand in. imagine the discomfort with that. so from then on i told the agent no TVCs only print ads. anyway, print ads are more "forgivable" than TVCs in the sense na with print ads the kids are just like playing on the set. hindi masyadong rigid as TVCs.

^ possible but ayoko pa talaga for cate. mas okay yung feeling (guilt-free) when the kid can somehow understand the value of having it as an extra activity and he/she will even be the one to wake you up para hindi kayo ma-late sa calltime... sino pala agent ni S?

@puglover you may treat hunny_ally's post above as an order of instruction. every kid may be given a chance to shoot for commercials but it's not easy; supporting roles will normally require your baby & guardian to be on the set for more than a day, what more kung major role na. ramp and print ads are more adequate sa ngayon, especially if you're a working mom. here's my son's mothers day print ad last year, less than 2 hours lang yung photoshoot he was only instructed to pose (no cake but a small carton taped on his right palm) that way for it became easier for the artist to embed the cake on the final print - http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150186608968481&set=a.389774753480.155238.338280938480&type=3&theater
