My daughter is 15 y/o and she wants to be a print ad model, any suggestions as to which is the best talent agency?

Just wondering if SP & MWM has an exclusive modeling agency where they get models to be part of their monthly issue?

hi! my daughter has modeled for both magazines, but she was "discovered" not thru an agency but just by joining their themed photo contests. sa smart parenting, she modeled for the july, august, september, october, november, december 2008 issues. matagal nga lang bago mag-release ng paycheck pero okay na rin. sa MWM, maraming beses na rin siya nag-model pero yung last lang niya ang binayaran (april 2009 issue). okay lang naman sa akin kasi i just wanted her to have fun with shoots while she still can. natutuwa kasi siya pag may ibang mga bata, meron siyang kalaro.

pag ba VTR especially for 4-year old kids, ano ba usually pinagagawa sa kanila? Super shy eto anak ko, plan ko pasok muna sa workshop. Any suggestions?

Better to call the agency. They will not rely on e-mailed pics. They will sked a file VTR - they take a video recording of your child answering their questions. He/she will be made to turn to the left, to the right, look at the camera and smile, maybe act a little bit. Then they take file photos. These are what they show to clients, not your e-mailed pics.

The kid has to bibo, always smiling, quick to answer questions in a happy and loud voice. These are what clients look for.

Around 5 agents will be okay na siguro. Maybe 5 of the more common or popular ones. There are some agents who are more diligent in finding projects for their models, and who inform the parents regularly of VTRs.

A Zed card (more popularly k own as "setcard") is usually a 5inch X 7inch or a 4X6 inch card containing a close-up shot and 1 or 2 full body shots, with the model's name, age, contact details, e-mail, and vital statistics including height and weight. If you have an agent, then instead of your contact #s, it should have the agent's name and contact#. Usually modeling agencies have their own IT's who make setcards of their models.

question, my son already has a talent caster pero it's been months pero wala pa din siyang new project...is ok to contact other casters?  wouldn't it be unethical if we're "connected" with a particular agency na?

share ko lang another frustrating experience:

my daughter was cast in a TVC for a milk company celebrating its centenary. her agent texted us to go to the audition (VTR) last march 4, and since we were already in makati that time, we decided to give it a shot. we received a call on march 9 saying that my daughter has been approved for the project. the next day, we submitted all the documentary requirements for her work permit. a few days later, i attended the orientation by the DOLE and my daughter attended a workshop for all the children-talents. and then the shoot was scheduled on march 18 and 19. unfortunately, since there were many kids, the production team had a hard time shooting. during the second day of shoot, i told everyone in the team that we will leave the set 2 hours before my daughter's graduation. hindi rin siya nakuhanan due to time constraints. i guess it was still not meant to be. just one of the frustrations that come with being a stage mom.

doc peach, "modelling" is an acceptable spelling of the word, it is not incorrect. although generally, in journalism, we prefer to use the shorter spellings.

On the good side, at least, Bea now has a DOLE ID     Anytime she gets called, the paperwork is done. The fact that she got chosen means she can get called again (she has the qualities agents are looking for).  Sometimes though, it can get frustrating, like the example you just gave. Sometimes the entire shoot is finished, yet not a bit of some talents get shown in the final editing. But it's worth it even for the experience of the whole thing

Mommy Jazz listed all the agencies in her Multiply site, with the telephone numbers. It's in a blog "If your child wants to be a model." She also wrote very useful tips and pointers, which I've read many times

^^doc, bea doesn't want to be in TVCs anymore after she experienced all the waiting and waiting.  if it's any consolation she was paid in full naman, same talent fee that the other kids received.

hay mare! he didn't make it to modelshop... pano ba naman sabi nung client, "say I'm Superman"; i heard andre - "No, I want HULK" LOL  but i appreciate them being honest at least na balik na lang daw kami next year for the Tender Juicy so Andre will be 4+ then.

we attended another casting for milk commercial but i have no idea what really happened 'cause mommies are not allowed nor guardian inside! will follow-up na lang w/ our agent... but not expecting anything good though
