Just got back from KL. We took the bus SG - KL via starmart express and air asia KL - SG
SG - KL:
The bus was scheduled to leave at 7:30 but the actual bus arrived in Golden mile tower (not complex) around 9pm. There was no waiting area and people with different bus tickets as scheduled were scattered everywhere. However when you receive ur ticket, the plate number of the bus will be indicated.
Next, when the bus finally arrived, the barker had to scream the last digit of the plate num just to call all the passengers. He had to go around the golden mile tower to make sure he informs all ticket holder of that schedule.
There was a seat number on the ticket but when you go up the deck, it has wrong numbering. E.G. If ur number is seat 16, the actual bus had A1, A2, B1,B2 and so forth. So those who checked in earlier will not be lucky enough to get good seats if they boarded the bus later as the seats are first come first served depending who boarded first.
Next, we stop by tuas immigration. SG immigration was smooth. No need to take the things as the bus sophisticatedly passed through xray while you're passport is being stamped by the immigration officer. Then we hopped back to the bus onto the other side of the bridge for the malaysian immigration.
Next, we hopped off from the bus WITH all our things as malaysian immigration has no facility to scan the whole bus. MY Immigration is similar to phils. After the immigration interview, you need your bags to go through the scanning xray conveyor manually.
Next, when we found our bus, we were informed that we have to transfer to a new bus which has more seats and less room for feet. This bus was to accommodate even the passengers of the other buses. So the bus which took us to malaysian border is just to fetch passengers from SG.
Next, while on our way to KL, the driver seemed to speak so loud (almost shouting) at his phone while driving. It took me so many "ssshh" just to silenced the driver because i cannot sleep. Then after 5 hours on the road, before entry to the city, the bus stopped and driver just shouted something to make some passengers get off. This manner irked me as I was woken up quite rudely. The other passengers also were rudely woken up.
Next, the driver just pulled over on front of a hotel i am not familiar with (we arrived quite late, 2am) and just told everybody to get down. We got off along the highway (similar to edsa) and took the taxi to our place.
Overall experience is I rode a bus similar to your experience when Riding bus from baguio and when arriving to edsa, the driver just pulls over and everybody gets off.

Going back to SG, we took the plane via air asia for 36SGD. Almost 3 1/2 hours trip via plane if to include the travel time from KL sentral to LCCT plus the inconvenient wait for the air asia terminal to be open and immigration. There are two terminals in LCCT for all SG bound air asia flights Y1-Y2.
We arrived at KL sentral via taxi at 3:00 in the morning. Note that the terminal for LCCT bound buses after midnight are situated outside KL Sentral right across the road to monorail. Take note of this so that you may tell the taxi driver where to go after midnight.
The LCCT buses leave the premise every 30 mins. Payment is RM8.
If your flight is less than midnight, you may call
www.starwira.com as they will pick you up at any point within KL for RM20. Starwira bus will transport you directly to LCCT (no stop over at KL sentral unless there is pickup).
Upon arrival at LCCT at 4:00 AM, we checked in via the Air asia kiosks all over LCCT since we had no checked in baggages. At 4:30 we went to fall in line towards Y2 terminal. Upon arrival, we were told that only those who have flights 5:30 can come in to the terminal and immigration. Since our flight was 6:15, we sat at the departure area's floor waiting for our turn.
Upon 5:30, we again fell in line towards the terminal and this time we were able to enter the immigration and waited for 15 minutes at the terminal then boarded the plane.
Changi arrival was smooth.
